So Hornet loves like a guard dog, right. Loyal and determined and usually growling at anything she considers a threat. Will usually strike first but only if given the green light from said loved one

Lace loves like a house cat. She's affectionate for a short period and then she's over stimulated and Becomes The Threat. Has feral foundations. Brings dead things as gifts which, given Hornet's collection, is kinda working somehow. Everyone is confused (except Shakra who understands the need to prove oneself as a proficient hunter to a potential mate)

Really Lace is literally bringing what she thinks is food to Hornet because she can't do it herself (which is also technically true this half-bug is Not eating regularly enough)

Seeing your own body rotting away and having no way to control it is terrifying. There's nothing you can do except watch yourself decay and wish you could do something about it.

Anyway. As a disabled person, it's comforting to see a character struggling in the same ways as me

a difference ive noticed between hk and hkss is that when you take damage in hk, the damage visual effect is much larger and makes your hearing fuzzy for a moment, but in hkss, hornet just makes a sound and recovers quickly without disrupting the music

this probaaaably isnt meant to have lore implications and is just a gameplay improvement but i like to think that little ghost is more easily overwhelmed and taken aback by damage and hornet as a trained warrior can take a punch and keep going
