Help needed identifying a (probably Van Gogh) painting

It appears in ULTRAKILL in the room with the 4th secret of 8-1, as shown here. It's file name is vangogh.png.

In the game's files, it's titled "vangogh.png". Several people (myself included) looked through lists of Van Gogh's paintings and we haven't seen anything. That doesn't mean it's not a Van Gogh painting. It's more likely that we just didn't look hard enough.

Most of the other paintings in fraud are album covers from Bull of Heaven. In those cases, their file names are just numbers corresponding to the bull of heaven album. This is a stretch, but maybe it's from an album titled van gogh?

About this paragraph:

The main theme is that it's comparing god's creation to human's creation. First, it describes a beautiful and intricate symphony, and then abruptly cuts it off with "SO FORTH AND NOTHING". That's what god did. He made this beautiful and intricate creation (humanity) and then destroyed it in the countless cycles of creation (as described in the testaments)

The "NO." then flips it on its head, the same way it does in the 3rd paragraph of 8-3's hell book. It was describing god's actions, and now it's hell's perspective. Hell sees god's alleged failures as beautiful because it's not blinded by the idea of creating something perfect. And it wants to share this truth with you ("SUCH SHADEFUL SIGHTS TO SHOW YOU"), which is what the next paragraph is about.

"THE WRITER" in this case is god, who is commonly associated with hands:

And now that god is gone ("STAY[ING] HIS HAND"), the story can continue uninterrupted. But, as a double meaning, "THE STORY" is hell itself, continuing the theme of comparing god's creations to humanity's art. Hell is growing, it "WRITES ITS SELF" (notice how it's two words and not one), specifically because god couldn't destroy hell. In other words, he stayed his hand.

I have two very conflicting ideas for what I want a P-3 lucifer fight to look like

i think it'd be cool if we fought lucifer, the archangel, and then fought lucifer the prime soul. by P-2, the flesh prison boss model had already overstayed its welcome, which is why sisyphus skips the panopticon fight for you. if we continue this logic, it would make sense for p-3 not to have a flesh prison fight at all, and instead contain the prime soul some other way. my idea is that we kill lucifer, and then kill their prime soul after it forms right in front of us.

it would also be cool if lucifer was the reason heaven knew to contain minos and sisyphus's prime souls. heaven seemed very prepared for them to form prime souls, as if it had happened before. this works for lucifer on the timeline, since lucifer was cast out before god disappeared, and minos and sisyphus did their things after god disappeared. my idea is that lucifer is sitting there, fully formed, inside the flesh prison, unable to escape for whatever reason.

these really don't work together since one needs lucifer to be alive and the other needs lucifer to be dead

if it IS the second one, then it's still up in the air what happened to lucifer's body. I think that somewhere in treachery we'll see the ripped out painting from 8-1 with "Lucifer - God's Kindness" underneath it, and then in 9-2 Lucifer's corpse will be the setpiece for the fight against Gabriel, the same way the heart and the organ were for the last 2 fights.

The encores occupy this really weird space narratively where they can't possibly be canon (v1 and gabriel are both dying in 9-2, not really any way around that) but, just from the two that we have, they're definitely telling a story. Both of them start out with a dead version of their layer that gets "reactivated", creating something that highlights all of the original layer's faults.

I think that that's the statement the levels are trying to make. Gabriel, Sisyphus, and Mirage's arcs were all about accepting mortality. The encores are saying "but what if you didn't accept it?" and then it shows how that goes horribly wrong. In 1-E, there's a speaker that plays "ENOUGH IS NEVER ENOUGH IS NEVER" over and over again in morse code. The encores are basically "this is what would happen if V1 rejected fate and tried to start over".

@thatoneazalea it's on the right in the first arena with the two guttertanks and two swordsmachines. It speaks in binary which you translate into morse code to get the message.
