Synopsis: You're sad Kyungsoo went to Mexico without you and he's trying to make it up to you
Warnings: Suggestive, none for this one but the next part....haha
Word Count: 2K
A/N: If you haven't watched KKPP, you have not lived lmfao I love Ksoo on this show so much. Also, I am trying to get over my shyness around fanfics (particularly writing it) so we'll see where this goes?? I realize I switch verb tenses sometimes and it bothers me but also I somehow think it reads more smoothly this way, idk. Does it bother anyone else? I don't love when one-shots get SUPER long so deciding to do this in two parts...Also I lowkey repeated some details from my other story cause certain details just work lol

You were jealous (and a little bit resentful), you couldn't help it. Kyungsoo had recently gotten back from traveling with his hyungs, recording the third season of KKPP and you'd hardly heard from him on the trip.
Now that he was back and showing you pictures and videos, you were trying to keep your small smile from faltering. At first, you were grinning at the photos of the delicious tacos, the watermelon with tajin, the crystal clear waters.
"Kyungsoo, the second tortilla is to catch all the ingredients falling out of the first one! It's like a 'leftover' taco," you explained, giggling as Kyungsoo's eyes widened in understanding.
But your smile grew smaller over time, especially when you saw the videos that Woobin had taken of Kyungsoo having a blast in the water with Kwangsoo.
Kyungsoo's thigh, with a slight tanline from his shorts, rested against yours. His words filled your ears as he explained the difference between a quesedilla and a burrito. But the words weren't staying in your brain. A frown began to form on your lips.
You've never been anywhere with Kyungsoo. Of course, you understood why. It was too risky and you both agreed you were nowhere near revealing your relationship to the public. But that didn't mean you didn't want to go places with Kyungsoo. It felt so unfair that you couldn't swim in the ocean with him, holding onto him as he went deeper into the water. Or that you couldn't feed each other elotes, the Mexican street corn you loved so much. Having him secretly buy you matching bracelets was always appreciated. But sometimes you just wanted to be a normal couple.
Kyungsoo called your name softly. "Are you okay?"
You forced yourself out of your thoughts. When you looked into his eyes, they were calm but questioning. You wondered if there was even a point in bringing it up. But your need for clear and healthy communication always won.
"I just wish we could go somewhere...together."
Kyungsoo's face fell almost immediately. He locked his phone and placed it behind him as he turned to you on the sofa, bringing one knee up. He said your name again. "...We've talked about this."
You sighed a bit more audibly than you meant to. "I know, it's just hard sometimes. I wish I could see our future a little more clearly. I don't want to miss our middle and only have an end, when we're old and can't go on adventures together." You weren't great at eye contact but you forced yourself to look him in the eyes. Sometimes Kyungsoo said more with his eyes than his actual words.
He licks his lips before answering.
"You know that if there were anyone I was actually going to travel with, it'd be you. There is going to be a day where it's just you and me and any adventure we can imagine. I promise. And we won't be in our seventies when that starts. But I hope you know," Kyungsoo pauses to take both your hands in his and looks at you so intently, you're drowning in his gaze. "That we're still going to go on adventures when we're in our eighties and nineties, too. You're stuck with me."
You can't help but smile, big and unabashed.

The next evening, when you came home from work, Kyungsoo keeps his weight in front of the door. "Wait!"
"What, why? Kyungsoo, let me in!" you say, not too loud so the neighbors would hear.
Kyungsoo opens the door just a crack and you try to push it open more. What was he doing? "Close your eyes," Kyungsoo says, bringing just his hand out to catch your wrist.
"No."
He says your name with exasperation. "Please?"
"Why?"
"Why are you being difficult?"
"Because I'm hangry and if you don't let me in right now, I'm going to eat your hand."
You laugh out loud when Kyungsoo's grip actually loosens on your wrist. "Please just close your eyes. I'm literally about to feed you."
With a sigh, you concede and immediately hold out your other hand to feel your way through the door. Kyungsoo grabs hold of that hand, too, and begins guiding you inside.
As soon as you step in, you smell onion and garlic and meat. It immediately makes you smile. "Can I open my eyes now?" you ask, already beginning to.
"No!" Kyungsoo exclaims, rushing to put his hands in front of your eyes. "Are you going to behave or not?"
You were taken aback by his choice of words. "I-"
Kyungsoo audibly sighs and pulls something out of his pocket, still keeping one hand gently over your eyes. "I thought so," he says.
You feel a cool, satin-like fabric come over your eyes and around your head. Kyungsoo is leaning forward, tying it at the back. You're startled at the action and feeling even more disoriented. Why was he going to such lengths to surprise you? It was overwhelming. Kyungsoo isn't really into big gestures like this and, quite frankly, neither are you.
"Was that really necessary?"
Kyungsoo shushes you then takes your hands again. He guides you forward. "There's a step here."
"Thanks, I live here."
Kyungsoo stops short and you crash into him. "Hey," you whine, your brow furrowing.
Kyungsoo calls your name curtly. It makes you freeze. "I'm trying here. Can you please...just, let me?"
You take a moment to process the tension in Kyungsoo's voice. He probably spent the better part of his day preparing whatever this was to make you feel better about not being able to take trips with him. As hungry and tired as you are, this is really nice of him and you're grateful to be spending time with him. It's just a lot to process, even without having seen anything yet. And the combination of Kyungsoo's hands gripping your wrists and being stern and being literally blindfolded is...unsettling. You take a deep breath and shove that thought away.
"I'm sorry, I'll....behave," you say quietly, embarrassed at the word. You feel heat creep into your cheeks as you put your head against Kyungsoo's chest.
He wraps you up in his arms quietly and holds the back of your head to his chest. Both of you stay in the moment, embracing each other in silent recuperation from the day's events. You take a deep breath with one another and you can already feel yourself relaxing more. Kyungsoo pulls away but keeps his hands on the small of your back, yours loosely around his waist.
You hum in surprise as his lips frame yours. Being blindfolded is really messing with you. Your senses are heightened. You feel like you're inhaling Kyungsoo's earthy cologne yet there's an overwhelming scent of cilantro in the air, the whir of the air purifier seems to be louder than usual, and you can literally feel how red your cheeks are getting.
Just as you begin to grip the sides of Kyungsoo's shirt, he pulls away. Your lips are parted slightly, trying to chase his lips. Kyungsoo clears his throat and pulls away. You're left with a feeling of emptiness, wanting more. You remind yourself to close your mouth and try to keep a neutral face. He's so debilitating.
Kyungsoo warns you again of the step as you raise one foot and then the other. You can sense he's pulling you into the living room and he switches positions with you until your calves come in contact with the couch. "Okay, sit," Kyungsoo encourages.
You sit. "Ready?" he asks, and you can hear the smile in his voice.
You nod silently. You sense Kyungsoo crouching in front of you and his arm lifting. "Wait," you say suddenly.
Kyungsoo pauses. "Okay...?"
"C-can I just-" you can't finish your sentence, utterly embarrassed as you try to gather your thoughts. You just wanted to kiss him a bit longer. The moment was over too soon.
Your hands come out, somewhat blindly, to cradle Kyungsoo's face. You end up closer to his ears and slide your hands down to his neck, instead. You pull him in.
He follows wordlessly as you place your thumb on his lips to make sure you're guiding yourself properly. They're soft and just slightly wet, probably from his insistent applications of lip balm. Not that you're complaining. You lean into him and remove your thumb at the last second, connecting your lips once again.
The kiss is rushed as you waste no time in turning your head to deepen it. You let your hands glide to Kyungsoo's shoulders and pull him in even more. He gives in easily and you feel the weight of his hands on either side of you on the couch now. He bites down on your lip, softly, and glides his tongue across it. A familiar heat is growing in the pit of your stomach as you open up for him. But then he pulls away.
Your hands fall away from his shoulders and drop, almost dumbly, into your lap. You feel like a deflated balloon. Kyungsoo calls your name softly. You sit up straighter. "Hm?"
He reaches up and around to the back of your head. It sends tingles up your spine. You resist the urge to shudder.
Kyungsoo toys with the knot at the back of your head and lets out a breathy chuckle. "Are you...feeling some type of way about this?"
You're silent. Caught. And feeling even more embarrassed about how he can definitely see how red you're turning. And yet. There's an opportunity here, it sounds like. As vulnerable as you're feeling, you heard the shake in his chuckle.
"I think I am," you whisper.
You count out each second the silence lasts. Neither of you move. Until finally, when you reach the number 6, he does.
Kyungsoo reaches for your hands in your lap and holds them in his. "I'm gonna try to be a gentleman about this first..." he trails off. You raise an eyebrow at him and wait. "I really did make you dinner and stuff so...whatever is happening here, I think we should wait until later, maybe?"
You try not to feel like your partner of years is rejecting you right now. When you inhale deeply to shake the feeling, the scent of the food is undeniable again. Your stomach betrays you as it grumbles loudly.
"Okay...but first," you start.
"First?"
"I want you to tell me what you're thinking." Cause I'm feeling like the only horny one here, you think to yourself.
"I think...I didn't think about how you were gonna look blindfolded when I first came up with the idea." Kyungsoo's voice is calm but low. You know he's holding back.
You resist the urge to smirk. "And how do I look?" The air is thick and you feel as though you're swallowing a pill dry as you wait for his response.
"You look...like I could do anything to you right now and you would just have to take it." Kyungsoo's fingers ghost from the back of your head, brushing over your cheek and settle, with absolutely no grip, around your neck.
Your lips part. "You look...like every single touch is setting you off," Kyungsoo continues. He trails his fingers from your throat down your front. His voice is dripping with honey, having lowered so much that you can practically feel the vibration of it in his hand that now sits at your waist. "You look really good," he whispers.
You bite the inside of your cheek. "And you want to wait?" you practically groan. Kyungsoo laughs out loud, his hand dropping from your waist and taking yours once again to kiss it softly.
"I'm taking this off now," Kyungsoo says. You squint into the low light of the living room before taking in your surroundings.
i'm super emo that exhorizon tour is over...what a gift it was to wake up almost every day to new content of our boys...here's to hoping for an encore...
they messed up the internet when these photos were released. I mean, if beautiful men all posed for a photo so sexily like they do, who would stay calm, right?
Kyungsoo returns from his tour early and, wanting to surprise you, heads home to wait for your work shift to end.
Your day, however, is long and fraught, made worse by how much you miss Kyungsoo… and his total lack of correspondence all day.
“Warnings”;;
Mutual Pining, Hurt/Comfort? (lowkey), a little sappy (as all my romance pieces tend to be).
Two people who are so focused on their partner they forget to take care of themselves.
Summary sucks but it’s hard to write about slice of life pieces… like what happened, you asked? They had feelings and thoughts and then they expressed those feelings and thoughts with one another through subtle action.
Told in both 2nd Person (from Reader’s POV) and 3rd Person (from Kyungsoo’s POV) but not at the same time.
Request;;
“Hi author-nim! Recently came back to tumblr and discovered your Kyungsoo fics; thank you for writing content of our king <33 Are you taking requests right now? If so, may I request a suggestive/mild smut of being reunited with Kyungsoo after he finishes his tour or something where there's mutual pining/missing each other?” – @deetaedoh
I didn’t quite hit the smut aspect – it’s a little suggestive though? Hopefully it’s still good!

It's a little after midday when Kyungsoo enters your shared flat. He's earlier than planned and you're at work. If he has to wait to see you he might as well recuperate, the tour having taken its toll. He places his bags in the bedroom and sits on the edge of the mattress. A minute passes. The luggage waits almost tauntingly. He checks the time – a few hours until you're home. With a small sigh he gets to work unpacking.
—
Not even an hour later and he’s fidgeting, his body tells him to rest but his mind races loops around the image of you. The luggage is taken care of but there's laundry in the hamper and dinner to prep. You've been doing everything the last few months–taking care of the place and yourself–alone. Tidying up would make for a nice surprise. Besides, it won't take long.
He can rest after.
—
Kyungsoo collapses into the lounger by the balcony window, a heavy sigh on his lips and a book in hand, and stares out the window. The city is a grey metropolis of skyscrapers and parking complexes. The sun lowers, edging toward sunset but not yet dark enough to justify living room lights or trigger streetlamps.
The apartment grows colder as the day passes.
The city moves on, but you're not home.
—
Another day gone by, another shift worked. Most of the time you enjoy work (as much as anyone can enjoy it, at least) but today slogged by. It wasn't any specific task or project, and it wasn't the trainings or impromptu meetings; you just hadn't heard from Kyungsoo. Radio silence. Not a peep all day, and you worried. You checked the news a little too frequently, fearing the worst, but found nothing significant. The tour, in its last leg, was going well. No mishaps, no disasters. You could investigate further, but respected the boundary between persona and personal. Idol D.O. was theirs; Kyungsoo was yours. Besides, fandom could get messy. Peace of mind is best achieved through separation of social media and reality.
... though your peace of mind wasn't particularly great right now.
Assuaging your worries over his well-being did nothing to address the real root of your discomfort: you missed him. A single day apart is torturous, let alone an entire tour. The calls and daily texts eased the ache, but paled in comparison to his physical presence. Warm, strong, caring – you yearn for his return.
But another gloomy thought crosses your mind: if he hasn't text, he's too tired to reach out. Exhausted and so far away from home. You resolve to contact his manager first thing tomorrow morning to arrange a care package. It's during this last stretch of tour that he'll need a boost the most. Some flowers and treats to say, ‘I miss you and I understand’.
Solution prepared, you drive home a mix of anticipation and relief.
—
It's dark by the time you park and enter the elevator. Your mind is racing, wide awake and making plans for tomorrow, while your body is already falling asleep. You rest your head back against the cold metal of the elevator, watching the numbers increase as you ascend floor after floor. A warm bath might help you sleep, or some herbal tea. Perhaps reading by the window? Nestled up in Kyungsoo's favourite chair...
The elevator dings and you depart, walking the short distance to your front door. There's a light on inside, its cool light spilling into the hallway as you enter. You frown. Were you really that out of it when you left this morning? Slowly pulling off your shawl and tossing your belongings on the entryway table, you make your way to the living room and instantly brighten.
Dozing on his recliner is Kyungsoo. He's the epitome of serenity; not a modicum of tension on his face. Soft hair bounces as he readjusts his position. You know he'd be more comfortable in bed, but the thought of waking him seems egregious. Instead you find a blanket and cover him. With a ghost of a kiss on his cheek, you take the chair opposite him, promising you won't fall asleep.
Just a few minutes to decompress…
—
When Kyungsoo wakes, the first thing he notices is you. Beautiful in your sleep, angelic even. His body moves before he processes the blanket draped over him – a testament of your affection. He scoops you up into his arms, too tired to realize the action isn't as soft as he envisioned. You startle awake, eyes wondrously alert before your gaze locks onto him and you instantly relax, melting into his embrace.
"You're awake," you say, your tone warm and fuzzy.
"Let's get you to bed," he says, voice low and quiet, as if he hasn’t already woken you.
"No." You squirm in his arms and he helps you stand straight, hands remaining perched around your waist. "I was going to take a bath..." You trail off as you look around. "What time is it?"
"It's pretty late. I'll run the bath."
"No, no, no. I think I'd fall asleep the moment I got in. I'll just shower – you go rest, okay?"
You kiss him on the lips, chaste and sweet, before stumbling toward the bathroom.
Kyungsoo has no intention of leaving your side, especially when you're five seconds from collapsing. Like a stalwart guardian he follows in your shadow, always ready to catch you should you fall.
—
Water drips from your hair and chin into the sudsy bubbles of the bath. Despite the late hour, Kyungsoo insisted you take one, saying you earned one after your long day. You'd barely mentioned how your day went before he pulled out the salts and soaps. Selfishly, you didn't tell him what truly made your day unbearable: how you needed more than anything to see him. Selfishly, you wanted every moment with him to last forever.
It isn't until he pulls you close, his chin resting on your shoulder, that you realize some of the droplets running down your cheeks are tears.
"What's wrong?" he asks, the words a deep rumble you feel through his chest.
You don't reply; there's no words to convey what you're feeling. Instead you sidle just far enough away to give yourself the room to turn and take him in. Gentle eyes watch you in turn, and it’s in those eyes you capture the emotions you've bottled up over the months: yearning, scattered across a thousand small moments, shining like stars.
Sitting up, you lean toward him. He meets you halfway, his lips plush against your own. Your eyes flutter close and you let your body speak for you, chest pressed to his as you chase his heartbeat, slow and steady, relaxed in the way only lovers with eternity ahead of them can be. Your heart syncs with his, calm now that it's reunited with its other half.
He's warm, so much warmer than the steaming water, as you wrap yourself up within his arms. He’s quick to reciprocate, holding tight like you're no more than a dream he might lose in the morning. You deepen the kiss, hungry for him, desperate in your need to have him. It's been so long since he was here with you and you've missed him – every aspect of him, of the intimacy not just emotional, but physical as well, you’ve missed him.
When you break the kiss with a single thought ready to pour forth he says it first, tender yet unshakeable, as if his words are a universal certainty.
"I love you,"
and you know no matter time nor distance that you’ll always find your way back to one another.
