I’m excited that Taylor has dumped the whole “I’m having an edgy goth phase way too late into my twenties” theme of Reputation, but nothing can make me watch that video. Brendon Urie is gross and I’m not contributing to it’s popularity. I am excited for all the rainbow, sparkles, and love themes for the upcoming album though. I think it feels a lot closer to classic Taylor, which is the one I was here for. I’m a sucker for cliche, it’s why I loved Speak Now so much.

I can’t really hate on Reputation, I really liked that album. Even now I’ll jam out to it in my dorm, probably much to the entire building’s dismay. But right?! I’m so excited for the rest of the album! As much as I liked Reputation, I’m excited for more hopeful songs like Love Story, I’m such a sucker for the whole hopeless romantic theme.

I know Thor and Hawk-Eye might be a little more confusing, but I believe in you, you got the first two, right? That movie was pretty cute, I’ll admit I checked it out as a guilty pleasure kind of thing since Lana Condor was in X-Men and I liked her as Jubilee. That’s so weird, I feel like there are so many gaping plotholes with the book knowledge they left out. Like, didn’t you wonder who made the Marauder’s Map and why? At least a little?

Uh, sure. We’ll just go ahead and say I got it from here and I’ll just try super hard to pretend I know what you’re talking about from here on out and everybody wins! If I’m being totes honest here, I put it on because the lead actor is super adorable in it. I mean, his role probably wasn’t as “dreamboat” as the internet made him out to be in that, but he was pretty cute. Um, nope? Can’t really say I was super curious really. I mean, yeah some stuff was like, cool to read after the fact, but I guess it’s just because the order I did it in, it all made sense to me.

It was fantastic! And I’m saying that as someone who loves Brendon Urie and Taylor Swift, so maybe I was predisposed to love it no matter what, but it was so so so so cute and pretty and bright and ugh, just everything I wanted it to be! Except I wish Brendon had more screen time and more lines, that was my one complaint. I would totally recommend binge watching early P!ATD videos. Maybe you’ll be more of a fan now that time has passed, who knows? My biggest rec there would be Ready to Go, he does cute stuff with an umbrella just like in ME!

Eh, maybe, it’s just that every time I’ve listened to one of their songs it just hasn’t like hit home with me, you know? Maybe it was because the only songs I’ve really ever heard from them are the ones that played on like the radio and stuff so obvi they got overplayed as hell. Beyond their singles, I’m kind of clueless to them, full disclosure.

Okay, but imagine if it had been a Brendon Urie song featuring Taylor Swift instead – that’s when things might have gotten weird! But Taylor Swift featuring Brendon Urie, I knew we were going to be safe, we’re always in good hands with Taylor. Well, almost always. You know what would be a fun group costume, though? Just a group of people all wearing different outfits from the video. I loved the pinkest, poofiest one the best, but they were all beautiful, really.

You just never know! She changes her style so much from album to album that when I see a name like Brendon Urie attached I kinda just tense up, you know? She could have gone a completely different direction with that pairing honestly. Oh my gosh, that would be so cute though? Because all of them were just looks, I didn’t even hate the ringmaster thing she was going for in that blue outfit.

I just saw it too. I felt like I was watching a commercial for something the entire time but I couldn’t figure out what it was for. Not saying that’s a bad thing - it was a pretty entertaining commercial, and the song was sure… bright. And so were the outfits; the black and white dress was by far the best visual choice. I almost wish all the outfits were black and white, unpopular opinion. But sure, you want a music video binge? Do you want a binge that follows the aesthetic or one that follows the music type?

Right? Like watching that Josie and the Pussycats movie just with less McDonald’s being shoved in your face. Okay, but the song was a bop, like impossible not to dance along with you gotta at least give it that. No, no, there’s nothing unpopular about that at all! Sounds like you just prefer a more minimalist look, which is totes fine! Nothing wrong with that, I like mod and minimal on occasion too, really depends on what I’m dressing up for though honestly. Um, really anything? I’m kind of in the mood to jam, so whatever you think is good for that, I guess?

Okay, I just saw the video for “ME!” and can I just say? I love it? Like I didn’t think I would to be honest, I wasn’t exactly stoked for Brendon Urie, never been a Panic! At the Disco fan. But even he didn’t kill it for me. Okay, sure. It’s not exactly deep or meaningful as far as the lyrics go, but the song was a bop and the video was fun! And I would die for half of the outfits she wore in it -- especially that black and white flower dress at the beginning. Wait, for real? Please tell me you at least know that the Hulk is the one that turns big and green, and that Black Widow is the only female member on the screen most of the time. But a lot of them did have like, movies introducing their backstories to make you care more about their role in the Avengers first, I can’t imagine just seeing the Avengers without seeing any of those first and thinking it’s anything special. I actually never like the Avengers films themselves as much as the solo films, but they’re so star-studded that they get more attention. Really? But they leave out so much about the Marauders, Peeves the Poltergeist, Winky the House Elf… so many things that would have made the story flow more cohesively instead of kind of jumping around nonsensically sometimes. 

Who doesn’t know that the Hulk is green? That’s like. Basic knowledge. But beyond that, I really had no idea who was who. And I honestly just wasn’t interested in any of the other movies, they just sounded boring when I was browsing though them on Crownflix so I put on To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Oops. Okay, yeah, but you don’t really know any of that unless you read the books first, see? So I had no idea that they’d left out so much and it made sense to me, didn’t seem nonsensical at all.

Some of them seem more pressing than others. Like, I’m sure I’ll probably go to Avengers: Endgame as soon as I possibly can. Even though the Avengers as a team aren’t my favorite, I know other people are going nuts for it and I don’t want to get spoiled. But like, I could have waited weeks to see Captain Marvel or Shazam and not have had a thing ruined for me. At least these days theaters have you pick your seats ahead of time, it’s way better than going in the old days and having to sit there like, thirty minutes early so you didn’t get stuck in the front row. Really? I think the movies do a good job of separating themselves from the comics, but then again, I read a lot of the comics before I see the movie, so maybe I’m bad at separating what makes sense and what doesn’t. I feel like something like Harry Potter is way more confusing without the books than the superhero stuff tends to be, though.

See, I can wait on all of them because I have no idea who any of them are. I wish I was kidding. I’ve seen like the first Avengers movie? And I was legit so confused because I had no idea who any of them were, why I was supposed to care about them, or even what was happening. Like, it’s just not my genre, I guess. And I totes watched the Harry Potters before reading the books, felt nowhere near as confused as I did with some of the Marvel and DC stuff. Maybe it’s just me. Pretty sure Harper gets the whole comic book thing more than I do.

Okay, so I’ve never watched the show Friends from beginning to end or anything, but I’ve seen different episodes here and there because one of the tv channels shows reruns and honestly I love Phoebe, she makes me laugh a lot. So anyway, I just don’t understand the whole Rachel and Ross ship? Like the other day I was watching some episodes where Joey ended up developing feelings for Rachel and it was actually really…sweet? And adorable! And why don’t more people ship those two together? Do they ever get together? I think I need to actually commit the time to watching it on Crownflix, because the last episode I saw with that whole story arc was Joey confessing his feelings to Rachel and then they were hugging at dinner and it just ENDED! What happens next?! Wait, no, don’t tell me. I don’t want spoilers. But Rachel and Joey, who else is on board that ship with me?

How you missed it when I binged it, I’ll never understand. Which, if you watched it with me like you’re supposed to do as my locked in BFFFL, you would have known this entire time that I hate Ross and Rachel with like a passion. I mean, first of all? Ross sucks! All he does is whine! And I swear, if someone ever told me to pivot a couch that many times in a five second time span I would punch him. I never understood why they kept Ross around, to be honest. I’ve been trying to figure it out the entire time.

I mean, I guess not everyone can be into them, but there are so many superheroes these days that I feel like there’s at least one for everybody. As a girl power thing I guess I’d always recommend Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman as starting points – and Coulson’s in Captain Marvel, so that’s kind of cool. But I also really like some of the sillier, more light-hearted ones, like Shazam and Ant-Man. And I mean… it may not be DC or Marvel, but Sky High’s superhero gold.

Oh my gosh, right? Like if they didn’t call it out and we had to rely on their apparently really bad name-taking skills, we’d never get our caffeine fixes! I mean, like I’m not against them, but I’m not about to go lining up for the premiere of the new one everyone’s gushing about, you know? Plus, that’s like an insane amount of people, who really wants to deal with that many all at once? Okay, yeah I’ve seen Sky High, but like that was kind of a coming of age movie too, just with the powers mixed in. I guess it’s just Marvel and DC. Like I feel totes lost when watching that stuff because I never read the comics.
