"I'm scared of whatever this "Drifter" is planning." (Nervous bean Sy)
He gave a slow sigh, sitting down on the couch and motioning the other man to sit against him. It was worrying to see how many Guardians happened to be wearing that title around lately.
It made his jaw clench to see in matches.
“I am too.” He said, tugging Sy closer while he almost pouted.
“Griff has warned the clan away...I’ve done my best to avoid the man. We know he’s likely going to do something soon but what it is? I have no idea.”
With that he kissed Sy’s neck, “But I promise he will never sway me.”
"Griffffff, I'm cold." Sy whines climbing over his desk into Griff's lap.
Griff vaguely wondered if he needed to get a second desk for ‘work’ papers since his partners seemed to enjoy knocking them on the floor.
But he could never be mad at Sy even as the larger man climbed into his lap. Thankfully his chair could hold them both while leaning back slightly.
“Why are you cold? Did something happen?” He asked, arms going to pull and shift Sy until they were both comfortable.
“And I thought Mute was like a cat.”
Reflection and Violence
“I would go out on a limb and say that being drugged, abducted, and dumped off at a strangers house is enough of a reason to want to try and get a rise out of the person who drugged, abducted and dumped you. Especially if they won’t explain why they did it.”
The thrall were coming, Drexod could just about here their shrieks. He did not doubt there’d be many, especially with the Light on offer for them.
As the head of a swarm, the first of a torrent, of disfigured bodies barrelled into the room, tearing the air asunder with their cries, the gunslinger turned to face Griff.
“Call this a lapse of judgement on your part then.”
Batting away jagged claws, the man skipped back, leading the ravenous creatures on a merry chase. Dipping around stalagmites and jumping over rocks, he accumulated quite the following before reaching his destination.
Jumping up as high as he could, a large metal box appeared beneath him, filling the outline he had drawn and crushing everything beneath it.
“Like, you really made a mess of this didn’t you?” He chuckled as he opened fire from the top of this new platform.
The thrall were close and he continued to watch, knowing that Drexod more than likely would be fine given his bravado so far. If he wasn’t then Griff could easily lend a hand so to speak.
“In order to understand why he did things would you be willing to listen and allow me to finish?” He asked, knowing that at this point he might as well go along with it.
The fighting was interesting to watch and it was clear the other man thought on his feet. Like most Hunters he also was very fast with his movements and jumped just as easily as running. The box was a surprise though he didn’t react to it aside from giving it a glance.
“Once I’m done I will answer what you want.”
Which was true, a lot of his delaying was to see how Drexod would react under stress. In a way Griff was impressed he hadn’t resorted to violence. At least not violence towards him. The crushed thrall might feel a little different about that if they could feel at all.
Drexod sighed as acolytes backed by Knights carrying boomers joined the fray, “I guess.”
Griff had given him an incentive to keep listening and whilst the Titan had his increasingly waning attention he would play along.
Quick hands worked, reloading and disposing of magazines as he moved, preventing the Hive from truly surrounding him. It was not much, but it gave him something to do whilst being spoken to.
If anything, the Titan had already lost Drexod’s interest. His time being used as it had, had left a bad taste in his mouth and the only reason he had stayed around was to find out what rabbit hole Griff and Mute had gone down.
He felt oddly tired and old, as much as he could given the circumstances of his life. Griff had been around a long while and had seen so many things, people, and places both come and go. Being a part of history wasn’t normally reserved for a person who couldn’t die.
With a slight grunt he noticed some thrall coming from the original tunnel behind him. There were not many and with a few shots from his gun they fell. A blinding bubble would work should more decide to test their luck.
Of course that was when a knight decided to appear.
“I have slight company up here. I apologize if there is a break in my cover fire.”

Please reblog if you play a character who is 30 years of age or older
I don’t care if it’s an OC or a canon character, and while I play a human, I don’t care if your fandom isn’t but for the love of god, why is everyone in their twenties? Give me some mid thirties or even some fourties. Hell, throw me some silver foxes. Please.
Sylvan’s face lights up when he sees the approaching Titan.
“Griff! You came!” He’s surprised, and Griff can clearly hear it in his tone. Though the excited is true too. Sylvan just hadn’t expected Griff to ever have the time for him. He doesn’t even think he really deserves considering the past, not that Sylvan would wallow in his mistakes and darkness. Especially when that would distract him from the other Titan’s presence.
Honestly, meeting Serif had been a gift. It brought him from such loneliness he’d been fighting off for centuries. It brought him back to Griff too and so much more. Now, he had plenty of little Guardians to keep him company.
He shoots up from his spot in the moss and grass only to sway and fall back flat on his ass.
“Sorry, been napping here for hours. My legs weren’t ready for that.” He laughs.
It’s a lie. It’s always one, but the last thing he wants is Griff to worry or try to convince him he can’t handle missions or the wilds. Sylvan was fine. He didn’t have Light pool big enough to keep up with Griff anymore or even the resilience he use too. That still wasn’t going to stop him from taking any mission Griff and his clan needed or that the Vanguard pushed off on him.
“So you got my message from earlier, huh?” Griff’s close enough now that Sy can hug and cling to his waist. Which he does, ever eager to nuzzle the Defender’s stomach and dodge any question that might be on Griff’s soft lips.
------------------------------------
The simple truth was that Griff had time to leave his clan because he constantly overworked himself. So really a lot of the members tried to poke and prod so he would take time off for himself and his partners.
Really he could never say no if one of them asked him to.
The forests were as he remembered them, calming and quiet the farther you went out. Three of them preferred living here and honestly the big titan didn’t blame them. The city was densely packed with people and even in the clan building it could feel stifling.
Griff didn’t know exactly where Sy happened to be but his ghost was tracking his and it seemed to be working when he came across him. Watching the other man stumble made him slightly concerned though he knew the bigger guardian was diminished after what had happened.
“Of course.” He answered, “You sent such a convincing message after all.”
He steps closer as Sy clings to him, hands gently playing with the bigger man’s hair as he debates asking about certain things.
“Do you normally nap on the ground?” He finally asks knowing Sy would dodge any pressing questions.
Eventually they would talk about it all but right now he wanted the bigger man’s attention.
Someone is jelly jealoussss
Griff wasn’t exactly sure what that meant.
“Of what or who?”
"So....you really like being with Sylvan, yeah?"
He nodded, “Yes, I do.”
While the answer was blunt he wasn’t truly sure what to add on. The taller man and him had a long past. There were times when Griff wondered how things might have turned out differently had he stepped in during certain events.
“Is there something you wanted to tell me?”
[I looked into information regarding that Salem clan...I have since revoked Vanguard resources from them.]
Griff looked at the message for a long time, reading it over and over while he thought of a response.
[That is all?]
He really didn’t have time to beat around the bush with the sender.
my ( b e c o m i n g ) was not gentle
i was FORGED in flames…
i was tempered by pain and the fires that scorched through my veins
i was broken, again and again
melted down
remade
reforged
until n o t h i n g remained of who i’d been before
To provoke me is a horrible, horrible, mistake.
they molded you into a monster
sharpened your claws
your fangs
ripped out everything good and holy
made you howl until your throat burned
maybe it’s time to show them what a mistake they’ve made
they should never have given you such a b i t e
[ Tis morning here ] Griff's data pings again quickly. [ Sunrise actually. Come and see, they won't miss you for a few hours, you know. ]
[So it seems.]
Griff was mostly done with his paperwork but it was late.
[They won’t. Are Serif and Rainer there as well?]
[ Come out to the wilds and sit on my face ;) ]
Griff glanced at his pad before going back to his work.
Pausing.
Before picking it up and reading the message.
[Good evening Sy.]
