All systems go, the sun hasn’t died
Deep in my bones, straight from inside
"Allllllright; popcorn? Check! Blankets? Double check! Sugar biscuits? Triple check!"
Flora gazed upon the small inventory, beaming. The telly behind her was on, showing a select screen for a detective film. “Okay, we’ve got everything! Let’s start the movie!”
She was so excited- this was a movie she hadn’t seen before, and what better way was there to watch it, that was to watch it with a friend? Charlie popped into her mind once she’d picked out the film, and now here they were, having a movie night in the flat all to themselves.
"Ready?"
Flora’s ecstatic expression fell as quickly as a stone. "….WHAT?!?!" she practically roared in unison with Charlie. "He just-?! And they-?! UGH!!"
She snatched up the remote and prepared to stop the movie. There was no point in watching any further if that was all the film had to offer.
The other characters followed the detective with some choice words. But if the hero was bothered, he didn’t show it. Just as Flora was about to end the video, the detective spoke up again. "You don’t really expect me to give chase on an empty stomach, do you?"
"It better be a damn good chase for that trouble.” Charlie grumbled.
Flora wrung her hands and huffed in exasperation as the detective made his ‘comeback’.
"Bloody stupid climax if I’ve ever seen one…" she growled.
"I think that’s supposed to mean that the movie hasn’t reached it’s climax yet…"
Charlie grumbled back. That attitude of the detective was a common source of the films comedy, but he really didn’t know when to stop. Or rather, knowing his character, didn’t care.
