No no, I definitely am arguing for hrt for kids. I don't want any more trans kids having to experience the hell of going through the wrong puberty again.

starting a new fuck/marry/kill called aro/crack/attack where you take three characters and decide who you're making aromantic, whose egg you're cracking, and who you're doing grievous bodily harm
I firmly believe what ever you’re obsessed with at 11/12 years old becomes a core part of who you are, regardless if you lose interest in it or not. Maybe some of you were lucky and were obsessed with warrior cats or smth, and if you’re real unlucky it was probably twilight.
Percy Jackson. DEFINITELY Percy Jackson and nothing else 🫠
(Cue HP slowly turning and looking at me like that creepy doll in squid game...)
Next time transphobes call trans healthcare "experimental" you can show them this
penicillin was first discovered in 1928; vaginoplasty is less experimental
ibuprofen was first discovered in 1961; phalloplasty and HRT are less experimental
Adderall was first applied as an ADHD treatment in 1994; puberty blockers are less experimental
happy pride month to the transmascs, the queer platonics, the aroaces, the people who are unlabeled, the people with internalized homophobia/aphobia/transphobia, the people who don’t care abt labels, and the people with conflicting labels
In case it wasn't clear before:
I love abortion access and queer and trans people and alt people and the earth and mother nature and free universal healthcare and women and people of colour and immigrants and birth control and feminism and drag queens and kings and leftists and all animals and being kind to each other <3
happy pride month my friends 🫡

Body: good news bad news.
Me: what?
Body: so. I appear to have... slightly misplaced your testicles. They appear to uhhh be inside you.
Me: yeah.
Body: so that's the bad news. Good news is, I found something else that's just as good!
Me: ?
Body: how'd you like it if i just... turn that labia into a ballsack. Well, just a sack. No balls. Looks and feels like a sack, though. Sack-like.
Me: ummm i guess?
Body: great! There you go, man. Done. You are henceforth equipped with a sack. Well, two, but they're part of the same-
Me: thank you.
Body: yeah. I'll be... over here. Making hair.
Me: cool. See ya later.
Honestly iconic how testosterone works.
The body just goes "oh?? I guess I got it wrong originally. Here lemme just uhhh... give you soma this on your that... soma those... and this... oh and a lil smidge of cystic acne sorry about that haha..."
Like it really just goes "oh yeah. Guess that's happening now" and rings the Dick Bell That Gives You A Dick. Icon.
Repost, now do your honors.
I HAVE TO START TESTOSTERONE.
beautiful tags that I just want to peer review. There's something wonderful about a complete stranger on the other side of the globe having the exact same experience as you. Wow. Feeling very seen. So glad the internet exists, allowing me to find shared experiences like this
let's sing and sing and sing together in beautiful new voices. okay?
MY EXPERIENCE:
Positives of T:
- improved mental health (calmer + less anxious)- note that for a lot of trans guys this is bc the body goes "we have low T..." on an e dominant system, and then the symptoms of that are a lot like symptoms of low T in cis men.
- improved physical health (muscle building helps stuff like EDS/HSD)
- taste change gave me the ability to eat vegetables like the fuckin adult I am (I put bok choy in practically everything) instead of being a supertaster. I can also drink coffee now.
- body hair!! EVERYWHERE. I have hair on my *wrists* now.
- penis. Obvi.
- body fat changes mean i can wear mens clothes without them looking weird. Which means better pockets
- voice drop. It did reset my vocal range initially but I'm working on building it back up. It is kind of euphoric to only be able to sing really really low songs (I'm over here singin' freakin' sixteen tons by tennessee ernie ford...)
- uhhh i might come back to this and add more as i think of things.
Negatives of T:
- dark brown sugar tastes bitter now??
- it did reset my spice tolerance momentarily. But I built it back up within 6 months.
- had to increase dose of ADHD meds slightly
transgender
hell yeah
every time a trans man who does not want to be called a twink gets called a twink I will personally go out into the world and rend 1 parked car to shreds with my teeth. cut it out
walk with me for a moment. let's think for a sec. I'm not upset but I do want people to understand. do you think assigning a label associated with feminine features, hairlessness, skinniness/lack of muscle tone, and high pitched voices is something that most trans men would feel comfortable being associated with? why or why not?
of COURSE there are trans men who don't mind it, or trans men who actively enjoy being called a twink. but I am not hairless by choice. I WANT fat and muscles and body hair and a deep voice. and a lot of trans men that get called twinks DO HAVE THESE THINGS, yet they get called "twink" anyway. why do you think that might be?
it's okay if you've done this in the past. maybe just check in before you call your friend or acquaintance something with so many specific, potentially disheartening associations!
I wonder if the inverse occurs with trans women getting called "butch" too. because there are many wonderful butch trans women!!! but if you call trans women "butches" for traits like short hair or body hair despite otherwise feminine presentation, maybe think about why that is? is she really a butch? or is that just her body? just ask first!
nonbinary people too. are they really "masc presenting" or is that just their body? are they really "fem presenting" or is that just their body? let's all try to be a bit more cognisant of the language we use to describe the trans people in our lives, yeah? [: it's worth thinking about. don't worry yourself into a hole about it, of course! but it's something to check every now and then.
Yeah... I know people would probably consider me a twink despite the fact that I look like I am a very direct descendant of Tarzan. Literally like 4x as much leg hair as most of the cis men I see out in the wild. Stache. Arm hair. Etcetera.
I do think "literally zero evidence indicates that gatekeeping medical transition does anything to prevent regret, but the harm done by gatekeeping is extensively documented" is a much stronger argument than "regret isn't real" cause there's always going to be some anecdote that puts you in a weak-looking rhetorical position for the latter, but the former is pretty unassailable.

An all-transmasc Ironman trio just won 3rd place in a major men's triathlon, beating over 200 other men's teams. 🏊♂️🏃🚴♂️ Trans men win men's competitions all the time, but nobody pays attention because it doesn't fit the mainstream narrative. I think we should celebrate their victories, too! 🏆

This is trans joy!!!
Being hairy is so awesome #mammal
we don't actually need gender markers on our licenses and whatnot. we could just. do away with those entirely. i do not believe this would lead disaster.
Or on health records, tbh.
I used to always get my blood test results back with the levels for cis women. Like yes, yes. My T is 20x (literally) higher than a cis woman because of No Reason At All and definitely not because of Transgender.
"It's high" no shit! 20x higher? Maybe another look may be warranted. Maybe perhaps a comparison to cis male levels? Of which that is Normal.
I need more reqs for trans songs that aren't outright SAD. Just like about being a dude but not Like That y'know. Like not about Being Trans.
So far i have: (this is NOT categorized by what my actual taste is in music bc the list is so small to begin with)
- mamas boy, doninic fike
- lost boy, ruth b (listening to this on repeat as a teenager was probably a good sign XD)
- to die for by the birthday massacre
- the man by the killers
- colours by grouplove
- lonely boy by the black keys
- do it again by steely dan
Sort of qualify but a little too pointed:
- build-a-bear by maggie brewer
Don't qualify:
- i wanna be a boy, addison grace
- second puberty, jake edwards
