// Hello! I wanted to apologize for the low activity on here despite being a brand new blog eheh. I made this account while also trying to move across country w h o o p s. HOWEVER, I will have moved in tomorrow and have WiFi and free time again so I'll be a lot more active!
âDonât let anybody tell you who you are.â
âUh -â Wide, awe-struck eyes swept along the curves of the imposing red wings sprouting from the heroâs back. Izuku knew he was gawking, but he couldnât help it - this wasnât just any old passerby! No, he had seen him on television many times before: this was #2 Pro Hero, Hawks.Â
âT-thank you, Mr. Hawks, sir. I donât intend to!â And it was true, he really didnât intend to, but lately it was becoming more and more difficult not think about the awkward juxtaposition of his individuality and his responsibility as the heir of One for All. His goal of becoming top hero had stayed the same, yes, but in the back of his mind there now sat the grave weight of upholding a legacy - either ensuring its future or securing a reason for its obsolescence.
He had fought so hard in the past to tangle the string of his own fate - a fate of quirklessness overwritten by a prophecy of a premature death - and though he had absolutely no intention of trying to avoid the duty that came with his quirk, it was harrowing to think it could eventually come to define him. Was it his endgame to be remembered as some messiah or martyr? What if instead he was remembered as a disappointment, or worse, a failure? What if there came a time when his determination wasnât enough and people suffered for it? Izuku had poured his heart into bearing the unknown under a banner of faith, but he was only human, and behind the confident smile he gave the man his teeth were gritted in uncertainty

It could be reasonably argued that midnight wasnât the most appropriate time to be brewing tea, but Izuku would be more than happy to filibuster his case to anyone unfortunate enough to catch him in the kitchen filling up the kettle at 00:17. After all, it never really felt like an accomplished day of studying if he didnât get to blearily watch the date change over on his phone.Â
The dormitoryâs common room was silent save for the gentle bubbling of the heating water and the muffled brush of Izukuâs sweatshirt fabric against the counter whenever his elbow slipped under the hand trying to support his semi-conscious head.Â
Heâd been uncharacteristically tired lately, and he wondered absent-mindedly if it wasnât just because heâd had his body smashed around a few days ago. Aizawa had been very explicit about not taking advantage of Recovery Girl over the injuries heâd gotten during his fight, and heâd honored that... but having them heal on their own hurt a lot - especially the burns. Ah, well. On the bright side, heâd managed to brush his teeth this morning without getting blood all over the porcelain, so that was progress. At some point during his idle pondering, the water had begun to boil, and Izuku conceded to the kettleâs furious rattling with a groan. He shuffled over to grab it off of the burner, and had poured himself maybe half of a mug before he caught something out of the corner of his eye. He flinched in surprise only to hiss painfully as a glob of hot water landed squarely on the the index finger heâd had wrapped around the mug. Izuku plopped the kettle down heavily on the counter and shoved the smarting skin into his mouth, whipping around to see who the hell could be creeping around at this hour. Oh...
âUm, Kacchan? Are you o -â he bit hard on his tongue before he could finish the question. It was habit to ask, but it had been made abundantly clear he wasnât welcome to ask it. He opted for something more... neutral?Â
âWhat are you doing up?âÂ

bakvhatsv¡:
Was he really that tired? Heâs not even on the right floor! A few hurried glances around, and conclusion made that this was certainly not his dorm!
âAh â.âÂ
And with that, a turn on the heel and a scrub of the eyes.Â
âYour decorating sucks.âÂ
A single green eyebrow quirked at the abrupt about-face, lending itself to an expression torn between amusement and concern. The promptness of the shoehorned insult that followed was so purely Bakugo, however, that it was hard not to be entertained. Often Izuku wondered if Bakugo wouldnât play devilâs advocate just to land a good burn, and he smiled despite himself.
âRight. Well, have a good night and try to get some rest!âÂ
bakvhatsvâ:
âIâm home.âÂ
âUh, welcome back, Kacchan, but... this is my dorm room.â The clarification was punctuated by a meek wave of the officially licensed All Might⢠branded pencil Izuku had been using to scribble down his homework.
// *busts in here through a wall* HEY, so Iâm all caught up on the manga and all I want to do is plot threads á( á )á. I have to sleep, but Iâm planning on being a lot more active on here now that I have a bit of a firmer grasp on Izuku. I believe I owe a starter and a response to a thread, so Iâll get on that in the morning!
//Henlo! Iâm gonna spend this evening writing to people who I owe and then Iâm uhhhh gonna go ahead and start binge reading the BnHA manga aha. So for the few who have interacted with me - and for anyone else who hopefully does in the future, too - soon I will have The Knowledge!Â
//Amendment: Iâm going to go ahead and finish the manga before starting more threads. I donât feel right writing Izuku and not knowing all I can know about him... if that makes sense.Â

So much focus had been put into being silent. Shotoâs steps were deliberately slow and light to reduce as much creaking of the floorboards as possible, had taken the stairs instead of the elevator, all too aware of the whirring and beeping it made when in use, and he was making a conscious effort to maneuver around the spots that made more sound than usual (discoveries from numerous trips downstairs at the odd hours of the night).Â
Shoto had lulled himself into a sense of security once he arrived at the first floor, sure that he was home free, and almost startled himself into dropping his mug when Midoriya called out to him. He took a slow breath and straightened his back.
âLower your voice, Midoriya, people are still sleeping.â Shoto pointed his finger towards the ceiling. âI should be the one asking you that question. Why are you down here? I thought you went to bed.â Last he checked it was past three in the morning, which wasnât that late for him, but it was definitely late for Midoriya. âAre you sleeping on the couch instead?â
Izukuâs mouth snapped shut with an audible click, but the noise was admittedly much quieter than his own abrupt fussing over his friendâs welfare. Green eyes darted upward to cast the ceiling an apologetic glance before falling back onto Todoroki.
It was with the quirk of an eyebrow that he took note of the cup in the otherâs hands... In fact, he looked a lot more at-ease than would be expected from someone who was going to have to be operating at full capacity in a few short hours. Izuku reluctantly put the thought aside and spoke again, voice barely registering above a whisper but managing to carry his sheepish tone nonetheless:Â
âAh, well I had, but I couldnât sleep. I thought a change of scenery might help tire me out.â A breathy laugh slipped quietly past Izukuâs lips upon his consideration of the last question, amused by the suggestion. âNo, Todoroki, it wasnât my intention to knock out here, but even if it was, I donât foresee falling asleep in my future tonight.â He paused, punctuating his raised eyebrow with the slightest tilt of his head. âYou didnât answer my question...â Izuku prompted tentatively. Â
DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN SENTENCE STARTERS
âMy name is ____. Iâm the android sent by CyberLife.â
âYou canât kill me. Iâm not alive.â
âI was lucky to find you at the fifth bar.â
âFor your information, Iâm worth a small fortune.â
âWonders of technology, they can even program assholes these days.â
âDonât put any more evidence in your mouth, you got it?â
âAll ideas are viruses that spread like epidemics.â
âIs the desire to be free a contagious disease?â
âI know it hasnât always been easy, but I want you to know that I really appreciated working with you.â
âI really mean that. At least, I think I do.â
âPainting is not about replicating the world, itâs about interpreting and improving on it, showing something you see.â
âWell he can kiss my ass, Iâm old enough to choose my own medications.â
âHumans are fragile machines.â
âDonât leave, okay? Please donât go! Donât leave.â
âDonât let anybody tell you who you are.â
âAn eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.â
âA war is coming, youâll have to choose your side.â
âWhat could be worse than having to choose between two evils?â
âDeciding who you are can be the hardest thing.â
âYou know where you can stick your instructions?â
âAdapting to human unpredictability is one of my features.â
âI was connected to itâs memory when it fired. I felt it die, like I was dying. I was scared.â
âI was scared.â
âYou look human, you sound human, but what are you really?â
âIâm whatever you want me to be.â
âHang on, hang on! Weâre gonna save you, hang on!â
âYou died in my arms and now youâre back here as if nothing happened. Fuck you!â
âOne of you is my partner, the other is a sack of shit. Question is, who is who?â
âIâd give anything for us to be able to roll back the clock.â
âI donât know what to do anymore. All of my options are bad ones. No matter what I decide, I know there will be blood.â
âI hope you make it out safely. You deserve some happiness.â
âWhen the world falls into darkness, some men have the courage to lead it out. You are one of those men.â
âWhy do you never do what I say?â
âI was just a machine taking orders. It wasnât really me.â
âYouâll have to protect yourself, and make your choices. Decide who you are, and wanna becomeâ
âYour heart is troubled. A part of shadow and a part of light. Which will prevail?â
âYouâre lost. Youâre looking for something. Youâre looking for yourself.â
âForgetting who you are, to become what someone needs you to be, maybe thatâs what it means to be alive.â
âAre you afraid to die?â
@koru-kogeruâ
Sleepless... and on a school night, of all days! Izuku scrubbed a hand across his eyes in frustration and put forth a mighty effort to stifle a groan. It was late - really late - and to break the silence of the dormitoriesâ shadowy lounge at this hour seemed almost irreverent.Â
A lethargic finger raised from the couch cushion he currently occupied to poke at the phone screen beside him. It lit up with an inappropriate amount of liveliness, beaming into Izukuâs now squinting eyes the hour: 03:13. This time he didnât try to stifle the sigh that huffed out his nose, flipping the phone over to soothe his retinas and slumping against the back of his seat with the full intent to properly wallow in his solitude.Â
Or, at least, that had been the plan. The sound of approaching footsteps breaching earshot sent Izukuâs spine completely rigid, his breaths coming short and fast as he tried to blink away the nighttime gloom obscuring his view of whoever was making the noise...
He almost laughed when he caught sight of the figure, shock of white hair - half of a head, anyway - catching even in the dim moonlight that filtered through the loungeâs panoramic windows. He really was unmistakable.Â
âHello, Todoroki,â Izuku called softly, stiff paranoia sliding away in an instant to give way to a contented smile.Â
He paused then, expression morphing to one of concern with practiced fluidity. âItâs late, Todoroki! What are you doing awake? Are you alright?â
