about:
every universe as a delores. only this time, she's not a mannequin.
when the apocalypse came on november 1st, 2019, delores was spending the evening hiding in an department store. she doesn't know how she survives - all she knows is that one second, she's trying on dresses and outfits, the next, she's gasping for air underneath piles of rubble. over the next few days, she finds her way back to her parent's trailer. it's only there that it hits her that she is completely alone in the world.
for the first thirteen years of her life, she grew up as an ordinary girl with a flare for the adventure. she explores, because the alternative is worse. the alternative is staying home with her step parent's family. throughout her entire life, she felt as though she was alone. utterly alone. having to deal with the abusive household, her asshole step-brother and sister and a life where no one truly cares if she's around or not. she spends most of her time outdoors. but she never truly realises what it means to be alone until she sees the destruction of the trailer park post-apocalypse.
she spends weeks trying to find someone else; anyone else. she always returns to the department store, though. it's one of the only buildings she's found that provides true shelter. she stockpiles food and resources. eventually, she finds another kid: five hargreeves. he's just as traumatised and desperate as she is.
