Delia: I think we need to have a talk.
Delia: Will you meet me for dinner?
Delia: or just come to my house for some tea.
Delia: either way...
ronald--hall:
Ron chuckled softly at her comment, shaking his head. “I guess I deserve that.” He admitted, before allowing himself to look at her. “Wow, you look amazing.” He smiled, leaning in and pressing a small kiss to her cheek. “So, I do have something to admit…I don’t have a car, but I do have a ride for us.”
Delia tilted her head into the kiss on the cheek. Something she absolutely should not have done. She should not be encouraging this. “Why thank you...” She said, stepping toward the door. “Oh? Well, anything works. We could walk for all I care honestly as long as I am not in this house.”

Ron looked down at the paper in his hand, checking to make sure that he had the right address. He wasn’t sure why he had offered to pick her up when he didn’t have a car but here he was, sitting in an Uber at 7:25. He looked over at the Uber driver and sighed. “If she said to pick her up at 7:30, is it okay to show up five minutes early or should I wait?” When the Uber driver didn’t respond, he scrunched his mouth before pushing his hair back off his face and getting out of the car, moving up to knock on the door.
“I cannot believe I am doing this...” Delia spoke softly to the mirror as she ran her fingers through her short hair. It was growing, but it was a very slow process. She bit down on her bottom lip. Was she really going to do this? There was a knock and she looked toward the door. Yes, she was... She walked over to pick up her purse off the bench before pulling the door open. “Mr. Hall... much more prompt than you ever were in class.” She teased.
itsemilylane:
“Are you still seeing him?” She wondered, realising she’d forgotten to even check in with her mum’s personal life lately.
“I am not entirely sure. We kind of part during the summer. I don’t know if our schedules were just to different, but he isn’t big into commitment...” She shrugged, smiling softly. “--but there is another guy who took me to dinner the other day.”
itsemilylane:
Emily nodded eagerly. “Yeah, that sounds awesome. We should totally do it.”
Delia smiled gently. “I can definitely get that on the schedule. Robert will just have to forgive me for ditching for a week.”
delia–lane:
She smiled softly and nodded. “I remember those days. When my girls were still babies and needed me…” She watched the fish in the tank and sighed contently. “We should really go on vacation soon.”
“Hey, I’ll always need you.” She nudged her lightly. “God, yeah.. I could really be down for a holiday, ugh.” Getting out of here, going somewhere she could sun by the pool. She snapped another picture and then looked round some more with her, pointing out some particularly pretty coloured fish. “It just looks so peaceful.”
She laughed a bit. “You better. Life would be too boring to not be needed.” She smiled softly and thought about it for a moment. “We should do it. I am not sure where we should go, but somewhere. Maybe warm. Caribbean. Something like that.”
delia–lane:
She smiled gently and glanced down at her phone, pulling up her calendar. “I have an appointment in thirty minutes. It shouldn’t take long though. How about 7:30?”
Ronald nodded. “7:30 works for me. Can I pick you up?”
She stared at him for a moment, trying to decide if that was a good idea. She then laughed and nodded. “Okay... here...” She reached over to grab a napkin and wrote down her address before holding it out to him.
itsemilylane:
She laughed. “That takes me back to being a kid swimming in the sea on holidays, I’d always pretend to be one.” She lifted the camera and took a few pictures of one of the tanks. “It’s so pretty.”
She smiled softly and nodded. “I remember those days. When my girls were still babies and needed me...” She watched the fish in the tank and sighed contently. “We should really go on vacation soon.”
ronald--hall:
Ron was hoping that it was a good sign that she wanted to do it tonight. “What time is good for you?”
She smiled gently and glanced down at her phone, pulling up her calendar. “I have an appointment in thirty minutes. It shouldn’t take long though. How about 7:30?”
ronald--hall:
Ron couldn’t help but smile when she said yes. “When are you free?”
She shrugged her shoulders, thinking about it for a moment. “How about tonight?”
anthcnyhayes:
“You’re very flatterable,” he said before pausing, brow briefly furrowing. “Alright, that might not have technically been a word but still. There is something about a classic whodunnit. Bonus points if there’s a set up and they wind up pinning it on the wrong person so you have to wait for the sequel to find out who really did it.” Better kept in fiction than real life though. He almost laughed thinking about how his sister’s life, her job, was just one massive whodunnit. “Right enough. I’d offer to help out but I was never good at doing my own homework, nevermind anyone else’s,” he joked. “If you have a coffee break planned though…”
Delia nearly laughed and shook her head. “Yeah, that definitely isn’t proper English.” She bit down on her bottom lip, watching him for a moment and nodded. “Whodunnit was a really good show too. It only aired for one season though which was pretty dumb.” She shrugged her shoulders a bit. Then again, Baberton could practically be a real life terrifying whodunnit. “Yeah, I am sure I probably shouldn’t get help since I am the one who wrote the assignment, meaning I know what I am looking for in a passing grade.” She closed the book and dropped her pen on top of it. “I could use a coffee break.”
delia–lane:
A small laugh escaped her lips and Delia shook her head slightly. This boy was going to be the death of her. “I don’t know. Is that you asking me out for drinks…?”
Ron looked at Delia and nodded. “It is, so is this you saying yes?”
Delia took a moment to realky think about it and sighed. It was a little harmless fun and she spent way to much time at home. “Yes.”
delia–lane:
Delia smiled softly and shook her head. “That is definitely something that I will be thinking about constantly when I pick my wardrobe from now on. No dresses, or V-Neck tops… got it…” She sucked in her bottom lip, chewing a bit on it. She couldn’t deny that it was nice to be admired, but part of her was feeling like this was inappropriate, even though now it wasn’t. He was an adult now.
Ronald shook his head. “Damn, now all the high school boys are going to be coming after me.” He laughed, looking at her. “Well, what if I asked you out to drinks or something. Would you wear a dress or a v neck then?”
A small laugh escaped her lips and Delia shook her head slightly. This boy was going to be the death of her. “I don’t know. Is that you asking me out for drinks...?”
ronald--hall:
Ron looked over at her, giving her a small smile. “I don’t know how you deal with high school students all day long.” He admitted, shaking his head. “But you gave all us high school boys something nice to look at in the middle of our day, so I am thankful for that.”
Delia smiled softly and shook her head. “That is definitely something that I will be thinking about constantly when I pick my wardrobe from now on. No dresses, or V-Neck tops... got it...” She sucked in her bottom lip, chewing a bit on it. She couldn’t deny that it was nice to be admired, but part of her was feeling like this was inappropriate, even though now it wasn’t. He was an adult now.
anthcnyhayes:
“What? No way. You’re what, twenty one? Twenty five? Unless we’re living in an episode of Riverdale and you’re a vampire, I’m not buying these outrageous ‘ancient’ claims.” Anthony shot her a grin, half serious and half flirting with a side of not actually knowing what Riverdale was. “Death Comes To Pemberley. Right. You might need to text me that one for a reminder but I can get on board with murder mystery. That’s a professional opinion there, I can’t believe I’m getting all this free knowledge. You should be on the clock.”
“Oh, you are so sweet. You flatter me.” She shook her head a bit, leaning back in the chair a bit. She tilted her head to the side and nodded. “I think everyone can get on board with a good murder mystery.” She smiled brightly at him and shrugged. “I mean, I sort of am on the clock. I am not sure I ever really clock out for the day.”
ronald--hall:
“That’s true. You weren’t as bad as some of the teachers.” Ron admitted, and she had been very understanding about why he didn’t always exactly make his deadlines. He noticed her licking her lip, smirking slightly when she called him Mr. Hall. “I bet you could.”
“As long as you at least put in an effort...” She smiled softly and shrugged. She extended a lot of deadlines for a lot of people. Just because they were kids didn’t mean they didn’t have stress. In fact, they probably had more than some adults. She shook her head slightly and smiled. “I will consider it.”
