Natalie was working on a project in the hallway, occasionally punching the floor or smacking the base of her laptop in anger. She was doing her absolute best not to disturb anyone by being too loud, but after a little while she just couldn’t help it. “What the HELL??” A punch to the floor. “I’ve checked you a million times- no spelling errors, no holes, so what the hell is a ‘compiler error warning’ doing on my screen?”

"Because of their cuteness factor? Of course. It takes a firm hand to get over it. The trick is to not look them in the eyes."

Promise laughed and held out her hand. “Promise, by the way. And when she does that, you get them looking into the kittens eyes as you hand them some allergy meds and remind them that it’s a fact that when you live with an animal you’re allergic to long enough, your body develops an immunity to that specific animal. Also, it’s not so bad when you vacuum the couches and what not.”
