Frustrated? My shit even got in the plant pots. I’d say you were more than frustrated. But thanks, just… just stuff it back in there.
If I used a word stronger than frustrated, I feel I'd come off as a crazy person. [She glanced around the room, slowly beginning to shove things back in the bag.] 'Course, lookin' around, I'm seeing I probably already gave off that vibe.
Okay then. But did you really have to throw it all across the room? I mean who does that?
Well, see, it's kind of a funny story. I was searchin' for this file for work, so I just tossed things aside. I admit, I got a little crazy as my frustration grew. I can pick it up, I swear.
"I can take care of myself, thanks."
"Right. Big, strong man over here." She grinned, shrugging. "Suit yourself. What exactly do you do to run into so many dicks?"
Might have to bat a little harder! Mmm, what is this called? It’s great!
[She did just that, batting her eyelashes before taking a drink.] God only knows. It had some fancy title, and I thought what the hell.
Natalie followed Isabelle inside, glad to be out of the hallway finally. Laughing, she nodded, “Definitely a party featuring only movies of the absolute shittiest caliber. Also- ew. Boys have cooties.” She smirked. Really, she wasn’t partial to boys or girls, but cooties were obviously factual and unisex.
She let out a giggle and looked over Izzy’s shoulder as she reached the right page, then dialed the number for pizza delivery. “What kind of pizza do you like, beautiful hero of mine?”
"I'm glad we agree on that bit. I was worried about stumblin' across some crazy monkey sex on the counter. I don't think my heart could take it." She flopped onto the couch, kicking off her boots. "Pizza is pizza, darlin'. You feed me, and I'm yours."
I leave my luggage for one second — one second — and someone think’s it’s funny to open my suitcase and throw my shit all across the floor. I suppose this is the thanks I get for believing there are still decent human beings in this world.
In my defense, it bears a striking resemblance to my own bag.
"He was a dick."
"Do you want me to beat him up for you? I can be your personal hitman."
Me? You want to buy me a drink?
And why would I want to take your drink, huh? What makes your drink more special than the rest?
Damn, normally battin' my eyes does the job to convince somone why my drink's more special. I didn't come prepared with a speech.

Well, both exist, and I tend to be very honest. There’s many things I can choose to be in this world, ‘untruthful’ isn’t one of them. Karma’s a bitch, and with everything that goes on in this world, dishonest is not something I want to be.
Are private eyes allowed to tell others they’re private eyes? Either way, I didn’t mean to challenge you. I was just tellin’ you to be careful.

"It’s done, then. I’ll pick up a spare sometime and let you know where it ends up." She smiled at Isabelle, then sighed and stood up, picking up the laptop with her. "Okay- so, make me happy and tell me you didn’t lock us both out just now?"
"Also, I’m starving. Should I order pizza? Takeout? Hire a personal chef? I’m game for anything…"
"'Course if someone uses it to waltz in, I'm placing the blame on you, darlin'." Laughing, she dug into her pocket and brandished the key like a sword. "I got this one." She waltzed into the apartment, even holding the door open for Nat to follow.
"Shall we hold a two woman pizza party? Watch shitty movies? Play truth or dare in true, stereotypical fashion? Talk about boys?" She made a gagging noise at the word, fishing through one of the kitchen drawers for the phone book.
"Got screamed at by a customer today because I asked him to repeat something. His family tree must be a cactus because he’s a fucking prick."
"Now, that's just a shame! No one should be an asshole to a man who can come up with a pun like that."
ISABELLE FLETCHER | 31 | DETECTIVE| APARTMENT 4A
PAST:
Growing up, Isabelle had only been ever to rely upon her older brother for company. Her parents were in and out of the house too much for her to truly find lovable, and so the young girl grew up under Izekial’s care. There was no doubt she was a hellion of a little sister, constantly scorning her brother for being overprotective. In high school, she dabbled in a bit of everything her brother warned her not to, until the smell of cigarette smoke on her caused him to not speak to her for over two weeks. Despite her constant rebellions, she developed the same sense of justice as her brother did, albeit she had her own ways of going about achieving it.
PRESENT:
Instead of joining the police force like Zeke did, Isabelle joined a private detective firm that often clashed cases with her brother. The pair was competitive over everything – work, sports, hobbies, and women – but they always managed to find their way back to each other. Years passed this way, and Isabelle didn’t foresee any change, until Zeke managed to find himself married off to a woman. Time with her brother became less and less frequent, and to cause a scene, Isabelle packed up her bags and headed from her beloved hometown in Texas to a strange new world in Canada. With new people in a new place, the culture shock of it all has frayed on Isabelle’s nerves, but she’s hoping to pick off right where she left off.
PERSONALITY:
Isabelle has never been a bad person; she simply wanted to enjoy life as it came to her. While others around her age are settling down into families, she has only found a further push to experience everything she can. For her, life is an adventure, and it’s an adventure society is attempting to bring to a close for her. With a smirk on her face and a sly word to say, she came to Canada to ensure that didn’t happen.
EXTRA:
Isabelle hops from person to person, always hoping to give them one glorious memory.
She has a very black and white sense of justice, although she’s more than willing to break the rules herself.
After a particularly short lasting affair with her teacher, she discovered she had no taste for men.

Nat chuckled. “No guns are involved…yet. I’m on my way to shooting this stupid display, though- I mean, you’ve met me, you know that I’m super perfect, right?? Just have to get the computer to agree…”
She nodded, “Aw, didn’t mean to wake you up. But yeah, left my key on my bed where it helps nobody. Hey, is there a rule against hiding spares in plants or anything? If I’m already forgetting, there’s no way this’ll be the last time.”
"I'm sure you just gotta give that computer a firm talkin' to, and it'll fall right in line."
"Naw, it's best I don't sleep my day way." She chuckled, glancing around for where they could put a key. "Rules were meant to be bent, right? I'm sure we can stick it in a potted plant and no one will be the wiser."
