When you pull up to this little hidden gem the air fills with the aroma of beautiful smoked meat.

B’s Craklin’ BBQ is located at 2016 Main St NW, Atlanta 30318 (off 285 Bolton Rd exit) and it’s worth the trip. I don’t know that I have had barbecue that good in a very long time. I recommend pork rinds, pulled pork or chicken, the collards (best thing on the menu) and a tall glass of sweet tea. The in house special seasoning on the pork rinds also comes on the fries.

YUM. That’s all there is to say!

Today I had lunch at DISHDIVE in Kirkwood. This Rainbow Salad was amazing & perfect for summer. Swiss chard, purple kale, roasted yellow squash, hungarian peppers, pretzel crutons, & beer mustard vinagarette. The mush in the middle was my favorite item- Dive Fries with mushroom gravy- so rich & delicious. Finally an Italian Market Sandwich wish a nice level of heat. I would say that each of these dishes was a little expensive for the portion size, but you get what you pay for & at this resto you are paying for amazing flavors. Perfect menu for sharing with friends. Small space, so carpool or take MARTA- East Lake stop is right next to this hidden gem. It’s currently BYO for dinner, so grab a bottle before you go!

I've been waiting to go to Cakes & Ale in Decatur for a long time. It's always either booked, I can't get a sitter, or something else comes up and we can't go. I will say it was worth the wait! We had a nice little Wednesday night girls dinner. It's nice to dine with people who have similar tastes so you can get a little of everything and share. Drinks: get a specialty drink here- I had the 1492 and it was amazing. They have a nice wine selection too.

We started with buttery rosemary roasted almonds, they were salty and scrumptious. Next we split the Roasted Endive Salad with beets & blood orange, feta & dill dressing and almond & fennel relish - this was a very sophisticated flavor profile. We each had the Red Snapper for our main course. This was a nice cut of fish with a crispy skin on a bed of chard. The romesco on the plate was a nice addition and made the dish. I wish I had tried the Pork Loin or NY Strip- but there's always next time!

Overall I was impressed. I would put this one on your list of places to try in Decatur, but be sure to get a reservation if you are heading over on a weekend.

Take a trip to the Ladybird Groove & Mess Hall on the Atlanta Beltline. Be ready to wait on the weekends because this spot is heavily trafficked by both people using the beltline & folks who drove over for a good meal. The good news is that they take your phone number and text you when your table is ready. AND They have ample bar space so go find a seat, get a beverage, and chill until time to chow.

We had a huge double-stack burger, Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuits (not pictured imagine spicy fried chicken tucked in the biscuits above), S.O.S. Fry Bread, Deviled Eggs, and the Farm egg bowl. Everything was wonderful. Full of flavor, seasoned well, and just the right amount of food. They also carry local craft beers- so cheers to that!

It's always fun to have friends in town and to have the chance to share a delicious meal with them. This time I took Nikki & Andy out to JCT Kitchen for brunch and we enjoyed the deviled eggs, a wedge salad covered in crispy onion rings, and for dessert a doughnut sent from heaven drizzled with caramel and nuts. To-die-for! I always love this place for dinner, but it was refreshing to go during the day! Visit if you haven't already been.

I recently went to Chateau de Saigon on Buford Highway in Atlanta. I have only been able to visit a couple of places out there, but I am always very happy with the food. For authentic asian cuisine, there is no better place in ATL. Full disclosure- my uncle recently purchased this resto, and I think he might be my new favorite person! We had the Shrimp Salad with shrimp crackers & fish sauce to start. Next we shared a family sized portion of the "Shaken" Beef (my personal fave). We also had crispy fried egg noodle with shrimp, a delicious tofu app that I forgot to snap a pic of, and a really yummy dessert. Bottom line: Go there now! http://www.chateaudesaigon.com/
