Tim Key talking about his second go round with cancer and I am actually beside myself. fucking hell what a year he’s had 😭
I just re-listened to Episode 50 of Elis James and John Robins on Radio X, recorded in January 2015.
The phone-in topic was things you’ve fluked or managed to pull off which weren’t seen or caught on camera.
About 46 mins in Elis read out one from someone who said they’d managed to throw a teabag across the room and into the cup.
Then Elis said throwing a teabag is hard and John says it’s not a thing and they spoke about it for a mo.
So anyway Alex Horne definitely listened to this episode and nicked this idea for Series 1 of Taskmaster which was on tv 6 months later.
So on a WILTY rewatch I’m now betting that the person who phoned in to Elis and John (and probably Alex Horne too) watched Would I Lie To You on 3 Oct 2014 (S8 E4) when Lee Mack demonstrated throwing a teabag into a mug
Sometimes you’ll be randomly googling and you’ll come across a full length video of Alex Horne hosting a virtual corporate gig in the height of Covid featuring Mark Watson:

I hear you in the Crème Egg advert Tim Key
Hey I finally managed to watch The Ballad of Wallis Island and it really is fantastic. Just a lovely story, funny, heartbreaking, hopeful and totally charming.
Also I cried at the end which I wasn’t expecting.
Charles’s dialogue was like an extended episode of Tim Key’s Late Night Poetry Programme. I’m a fan of that show, so obviously loved that, but it’s nice that it works for non-Key fanatics too.
I’m SO glad they filled out Charles’s story from the original short film. I found the end of the short pretty bleak with him just left on his island all alone looking forward to lunch, but first breakfast. The full length film gave us some hope for Charles’s future, which I was really glad about.
The Herb/Nell story I liked too. Love that they were never anywhere near getting back together despite what Herb hoped. But also, I liked how everything slowly revealed itself to Herb, both Charles’s story and also his own revelations about himself and his music.
We're gonna see Romesh and Tim together. I've grouped them, and you'll see why.

Last year Domhnall Gleeson said that season 2 of The Paper starts filming in January/February.
Tim Key said for S1 of The Paper he was in LA for 12 weeks.
And Tim starts his tour at the end of February.
So… idk if Tim is coming back for S2 of The Paper.
Seems unlikely…

Favourite bit of Tim's appearance on the Dish podcast is the hosts questioning him about him supposedly having once had lasagna while in the bath and him being utrerly bewildered before going 'oh that was my column!' before admitting he just made stuff up for that
The other fun thing about that moment was him saying he’d hardly ever had a beer in the bath either.
Which could seem like a bit of a non-sequitur, except he was probably thinking about his 2011 live show Masterslut which was centred around him being in a bath on stage and included a video of him diving underwater to chase a can of Ruddles beer.
Tim Key on Jamie Laing’s Good Company podcast is a surprisingly good listen. I thought it might not be great on both sides (expected the show would have some kind of annoying format-point, thought Tim might go too performative), but in fact it was just funny and interesting and there were no annoying format points at all.
I loled when Jamie Laing said he tried to get on Tim’s episode of Sunday Brunch.
Tim on Romesh Ranganathan’s show was similarly lovely. I loved their conversation, but it didn’t need the format-points it did have, and Romesh was right that the curry could have derailed the whole thing. I always find it so interesting when comedians who have taken different approaches to their careers, but clearly like and admire each other, talk about their work.
Podcasts saying they’re going on a short hiatus then just never putting out another episode with no explanation ever given - name a more iconic duo
