curie becoming a synth always seemed really dumb to me. like, isn't the reasoning for it that she's limited in how much she can learn or something? wouldn't it make more sense to install her into a stationary mainframe like a ZAX then? maybe if you did you'd lose her as a companion but she'd do medical research for you or something, maybe tie it into settlements. i dunno i'm just spitballing, anything would be better than putting her into a comatose woman that you can fuck

I found the idea if putting her in a synth body to be fascinating. Specifically how it calls into question the morality of the Railroad's mindwipe. Consider; a synth willingly undergoes treatment to have their entire mind erased and replaced. All memories deleted, personality unmade, everything that makes one who they are just... gone. And in their places are left completely different memories. The synth is, for all intents and purposes, dead. Someone else is now living in their body, but the two are otherwise unrelated. Is that really different from having Curie take over? The synth got what she wanted; a whole new set of memories and a new personality. But is having those memories come from an existing source better? Or worse? Or does it even matter at all?

Sadly, none of this is touched on in the game, and is just my own examination of events, otherwise I might call it decent writing.

Man, I was thinking it was because all other historical sites in the game had been retrofitted pre-war with terminals and protectrons and stuff, so it was surprising to find one that had actually been left unaltered.

Fallout 4 is now over 8 years old and there is still no fix for the giant crash bubble the surrounds the entire Cambridge area. Several quests, including main quests, require you to venture into this area, and all of them are impossible to complete because you will crash as soon as you enter the space. The game is physically impossible to complete because of this bug, it affects players across all systems, and has since the game came out in 2015. Countless posts have been made asking for help, begging for a fix, and they have all gone unanswered. Well, mostly unanswered; there are people saying that they too have the problem and people suggesting that you use console commands to get around the problem. But aside from only being an option for people on PC, it serves only to skip parts of the game entirely instead of actually solving the issue.

The part that boggles my mind is that after 8 years of a very active modding community, no one has been able to mod in a fix. Bethesda not caring doesn't surprise me; they have my money and it's far too late for me to get it back. But that such a devastating issue has gone unacknowledged by the larger modding community is outrageous. The teams behind F4SE, UFO4P, and the thousands of people who make their own bug fixes and patches have (to my knowledge, please prove me wrong) either ignored the issue or are incapable of fixing it. I'm inclined to believe the latter, given it's a clunky Betheada game we're talking about and how impossible the former seems to me.

If anyone reading this has a solution, I beg of you to share it. If you have experienced the problem yourself, please talk about it. Bethesda has talked about releasing a next-gen update for Fallout 4 to bring the game to PS5 and Series X, and also add more creation club content that no one wants or askes for. Knowing them, this bug will still exist on those newer consoles, and they hope that by the time people realize their game is unplayable it will be too late to request a refund. The only way this game breaking bug will ever be addressed is if we force them to address it. Talk about it, remind them of it, submit help tickets when it happens to you. After this update, they will probably never touch Fallout 4 again. This is our last chance to get this fixed properly, aside from the hope that someone somewhere will discover the cause and fix it themselves before sharing their knowledge with the world. But if that hasn't happenes in the past 8 years, I'm not going to hold my breath.

see every time i see this status i get angry because i’ve played through literally every scenario in rct1 and there is no place where this is a thing. there is never more than one park per map. and in rct2 you can’t make that happen i the scenario editor either. it is not remotely within the game’s functionality to simulate two discrete parks and these games were coded in assembly for christ sake so it’s not like someone modded it in by adding the line “int const TOTAL_NUM_POSSIBLE_PARKS = 2;”. there is no conceivable way this post is anything close to true and even though i know how writing all this out reflects upon me as a person and even though i know exactly how meaningless and trifling of a takedown attempt this is on some random facebook screencap with hundreds of thousands of notes im going to post it anyway because i’m too petty to have any say in the matter
