After being invited to run the training grounds, Ingo finally gets to partake in battles again, filling a void in him. Akari finds him at the end of the day needing another type of refuel though, and takes him to The Wallflower.

Continuation of ‘In the Darkness, It was not Detected’. Ingo leads Akari onwards through the highlands to Lady Sneasler. Melli does his best to avoid them, and someone seems a little too interested in Akari’s connection to the rift for Ingo’s liking.

It’s Just a Cold - 10K Words

Ingo is entrusted one of Lady Sneasler’s late-hatching eggs to help it hatch, but he quickly falls sick. While the warden believes it’s a passing cold, Pearl Clan’s medicinal woman Calaba believes it’s a curse tied to a superstition about eggs. Akari does her best to help Ingo get better so he can help Lady Sneasler’s egg hatch.

Smile for the Camera! - 3.4k Words

Akari is thrilled to be able to take photos with all her friends at Jubilife Village’s photo booth! Except for Ingo that is, too self conscious about his tattered clothes and disheveled look to come take photos. Akari helps him get his confidence back!

Until Then, Don’t Worry - 11k Words

While Akari is gone on an expedition into the Icelands, Zisu does her best to keep Ingo from worrying about her, and bets that she can get him to smile. It is a process of trial and error.

Behind (Sleep) Schedule - 8k Words

Ingo has been having trouble sleeping at night, ever since he had to adjust to the (too) quiet night atmosphere of Hisui. But he couldn’t let this get in the way of a fun day with Akari at the Ginkgo Guild’s modern appliance exhibition, held at Jubilife Village!

Relief From the Heat - 5.3k Words

When a flash heatwave hits Hisui, and Kamado orders Ingo and Zisu to stay at their post at the training grounds, Akari does her best to bring them some relief from the humid heat.

Let’s Get You Back to Her - 6k Words

Ingo comes across a lost child in Gear Station’s Battle Subway during a very busy event, and makes sure she makes it back safely to her worried mother. He was not aware he would be doing the same thing again for the same girl, years later.

It’s Nothing Personal, It’s Just Business - 9.2k words

Ingo and Akari have a fight after Ingo finds out Volo wants to assist Akari in gathering the remaining plates; the warden has grown distrustful of the merchant. But Akari vehemently defends Volo and leaves to go off and collect the plates with him, against Ingo's wishes. As time goes on however, she realizes Ingo's concerns about Volo might not have been wrong. She wishes she hadn't been so harsh with him.

What’s In a Name - 5.2k Words

Akari is helping Ingo take care of Lady Sneasler’s kits while he gets over a cold, and decides all of the little sneasels need names.

Ghost Stories - 17.6k Words

Akari, Rei, Ingo, and Zisu are tasked with taking young potential recruits up to the mirelands campgrounds, to show them what it's like to be a security corps member. However, Ingo is only filling in for Cyllene, who refused to go after an incident that happened the year before. She won't share what happened, leading the recruits to blame the apparent apparition that haunts the Solaceon Ruins near the campsite. Akari is quick to dismiss this, but as strange things start happening, she doesn't know what to think.

Gone Fishing - 9.5k Words

Ingo’s just trying to help Akari catch a rather rare Pokémon for her fieldwork - an alternate-color basculin who also happens to be an alpha. It’s hard to do when Melli keeps pestering Ingo to help him with a problem, though.

Comfort Him - 5.4k Words

Akari often brings things back from space-time distortions to show to Ingo, in hopes that it will help him regain any of his lost memories. She just didn’t consider it might bring back a memory that’s so distressing.

Maintenance Check - 4.8k Words

Akari invites a weary Ingo out of the rain to rest and have a hot meal with her, but Ingo realizes Akari needs some help of her own as well.

Turned Upside Down - 2k Words

[GHETSIS WINS AU] Ingo and Emmet were simply waiting in the subway for Elesa to arrive, so they could enjoy a Friday night out together. They didn’t expect the incoming Team Plasma attack.

It is Akari's sixteenth birthday, and a surprise party is thrown for her. She isn't able to appreciate it as much as she wants to though, and Ingo can tell. Emmet also struggles with facing his first birthday without Ingo, but Elesa is there for him.

As of today, I have packed and sent out every last order I had on both bigcartel and Etsy! I have now closed down my stores. I had spent time responding to messages that had been sent to me as well, but if I have not gotten back to you about a message regarding an order or general inquiry, please reach out again in case I missed you!

I am hoping to reopen both my big cartel and Etsy soon, but I may still open an ACGGOODS before then. I just do not know how long it will take.

Among my immune deficiency problems, they have discovered I have a hernia, which may be the source of the internal bleeding and inflammation I’ve been dealing with for the past year. I have another (hopefully final) medical procedure coming soon to further assess whether this is the cause of these problems or not, and from there we will decide what to do next. If my hernia is deemed bad enough that must be fixed, it can only be fixed with surgery. If that is what happens, I am unsure when I will be able to physically pack and ship products again.

What's a headcanon you have that you feel like you haven't gotten a chance to properly talk about yet?

Oh!! Thank you for this question!! I apologize this could be long, but I genuinely have not had a chance to properly talk about it because of this and I appreciate you giving me the chance to do so! (I’d wanted to expand on this in Heart Full, Bowl Empty but a one shot fic im writing now that’s kind of tied to it has offered a better opportunity to explain it in there, so it’ll be in there instead ^^)

It’s about Gliscor being Ingo’s first Pokemon in Hisui (as a Gligar) and WHY it came about that way.

Because it’s related to HFBE, I’ll say this headcanon mentions hunting and eating Pokemon for food. I just know not everyone likes to read about that.

In short, I like to headcanon that Gliscor was Ingo’s very first Pokemon in Hisui because Ingo came up with a mutually beneficial deal between the both of them that grew into a proper partnership between partner and Pokemon.

When Ingo first fell to Hisui, he quickly learned that the Pearl Clan hunts Pokemon (if you’re unaware, NPC dialogue in the Pearl Clan settlement contains dialogue about setting up traps and this is based off of that), and while Ingo doesn’t have issues with eating Pokemon (among many references that Pokemon and their parts are eaten by humans more or less, pokedex entries about basculin specifically express they’re very commonly eaten in Unova. So I assume Ingo does too.), it’s the act of personally ending a Pokémon’s life for food that he cannot go through with.

Ingo can do well enough not hunting his own meat when he’s with the Pearl Clan — all in all, other clan members can do it for him and they can provide meat to him and the rest of the clan, and he can stick to foraging otherwise.

But when Ingo becomes Sneasler’s warden and must spend a majority of his time with her in the highlands, it becomes harder when the clan isn’t able to essentially provide meat for him, and foraging for whatever edible can grow on mountainous terrain can only go so far (especially if you’re not too familiar with doing it)

Now up to this point, I like to think Ingo had no pokemon of his own. He was good with pokemon, yes, but tied with not knowing who he left behind from wherever he came from, and the Pearl Clan generally not using pokeballs to keep their pokemon in, there wasn’t much motivation and lots of hesitance to really just start taking in any pokemon as proper partners.

But as Ingo spent his time on the mountain with Sneasler and grew increasingly deprived, he decided he really needed to start trying. So he did start attempting to hunt. But inexperience and halfhearted attempts filled with hesitance meant almost every Pokemon Ingo tried to hunt ended up getting away.

Through these attempts though, Ingo noticed more than once he was starting to cross paths with a particular gligar. More often than not, the gligar would try and take his target during his hunting attempts, or Ingo would find himself accidentally targeting a pokemon that the gligar had already marked as prey.

The gligar didn’t know how to ambush well at all, and couldn’t fight very well. Ingo eventually discovered it often tried to hunt during the day, a major disadvantage to it, in order to avoid competing for food with the alpha Gliscor and surrounding gligar in the area that hadn’t accepted it (or even possibly be hunted by them itself)

As the two of them kept failing in both their attempts and running into each other and only growing more hungry, Ingo decided to propose a deal to it. If he trained it how to fight in battles and help it bring down prey, he could promise it would have access to as much blood as it wanted, so long as it allowed him to have the drained meat for himself afterwards.

The gligar eventually agreed. It was able to get stronger with Ingo’s help, and thanks to gligar, Ingo was able to circumvent personally killing Pokemon for his meals — he was just teaching this Pokemon how to properly hunt for itself, and being a sanguivorous Pokemon, it only needed the blood, so he was free to take the meat after and feed himself as well.

It worked out very well, and gligar/Gliscor never left Ingo’s side after that, agreeing to officially join his team when Ingo eventually allowed himself to start building one and use pokeballs.

SUMMARY: I headcanon that Ingo can and does eat Pokemon and that it is a more explicitly seen facet of human diets than in the games/anime, but he cannot bring himself to actually kill Pokemon for a meal, which is much more of a necessity in Hisui than modern-day Unova. So he bonded with a gligar (a Pokemon whose evolution is explicitly known for drinking blood as its diet) who was struggling to catch prey, and helped teach it to hunt properly, so that he could take the drained meat afterwards and satisfy both of them.

With all the depressing things with the Pokopia "au" have a more happy thought: Emmet sneaking Galvantula with him to space and creates a Joltik hoard up there.

Emmet could not go without his galvantula and joltiks. The joltiks don’t even take up that much room it’s ok it’s fine!!

It could become a problem very quickly though, considering joltiks feed off electricity and they’re living in what I’m assuming is a space station haha. Someone’s inevitably going to find out what he brought with him. I wonder what humans would even do in the story of Pokopia if they found out someone brought a Pokemon with them?

in the pokopia scenario would akari be taken beforehand too and have time travel shenanigans commence or would she disappear from space and come back with ingo? or would she not be in hisui at all?

In regards to this ask

I think for simplicity’s sake and unless otherwise stated, I’ve always generally assumed that with both Ingo and Akari being in Hisui in PLA, if both of them go back to their own times, that time period they return to would be the same. And Akari would go back to Sinnoh if Ingo was put back in Unova — the latter which I just went with for this scenario of putting him into Pokopia. That could always change though for the sake of making it easier for Ingo and Akari to find each other again.

If people like this small hypothetical of connecting Ingo’s return with pokopia and want to expand it outside of that, I do like the thought of both Ingo and Akari being dropped in different areas so two different groups of pokemon can get their “we found the first human who came back!!” Moment haha.

Arceus dropping Ingo into a Pokopia version of Unova all like, thanks 4 teaching the past the joys of battling, now it’s your job to get humanity back down here again!

The twins Pokémon are helping too and it would make a great story too!

Also now that I think about this Pokopia is somewhat similar to the story of Wall-E and Ingo would become a kind of Wall-E of Unova: help fixing up the place for humanity to return.

Emmet would be so depressed in Space only to receive the most precious gift ever when they return home.

I think the premise is enjoyable; playing the game and seeing how many times multiple Pokemon built and made things specifically to cater to humans and to entice them into coming back, you’d get to see them actually be able to do that with Ingo.

Here! We have an open house for you, made out of dirt! And you have three pokemon roommates in that dirt house now too! Want to go exploring all the underground tunnels (gear station’s subway routes) later? We have minecarts that can go through them really fast!

You are correct in that it’s a lot like Wall-E; I have thought about that comparison many times myself! Partially why I wish the environments looked a little more destroyed I love Wall-E’s abandoned wasteland environments look lol.

As for Emmet, it is really depressing to think about what a life like that would be like. Again, entertaining the hypothetical that this all happened when Ingo was taken to Hisui, it would have been a lot to deal with. You learn that earth is no longer fit to live on, and you must all leave all your pokemon behind to go live in space. As if that’s not difficult enough to deal with, right before you’re supposed to leave, your brother goes missing and no one can find him anywhere. You are now forced to head up into space without any of your family.

That would be horrible ;(

Have you watched Project Hail Mary? I think there's a lot of directions a Submas crossover could be taken.

I have not! I’ve really wanted to though, it looks like something I’d enjoy! I have many friends who HAVE seen it though and LOVE it so I am certain it’s really good!

Seeing as I don’t know much about it, I am really curious to know what elements it has that make it well-suited for a Submas crossover. Anything that has that adaptability instantly makes it more interesting for me haha, so I definitely gotta watch it now!!

I‘m not sure if you have played Pokopia but if so the lore between the lines and you gather would make an interesting story on Ingo returning and a possible reunion happening.

If you haven’t tried the game it’s alright it’s just a thought that came to me when reading what’s going on.

I have played pokopia!! I haven’t picked it up in a bit, but as of this point I’ve finished like most of it. I just haven’t gotten credits to roll yet — it’s really fun, and it’s got a massive amount of pokemon I like so I have really enjoyed hanging out with them!

A talk about lore below, so avoid in case you don’t want to see!

One of my biggest appreciations for pokopia is the game’s lore, actually. I’ve known about the game’s premise and lore for a long while before release and since then, I had wished that the environments appeared more post-apocalyptic or worn. If climate alteration had really caused such massive destruction to the way of life that humanity had to collectively escape to space, I really wanted to see the ruins that had been left behind in a more weather-distressed or destroyed manner. Think of the Zero Base Lab in SV, or Lysandre Labs in PLZA. I understand the game’s building mechanics probably would have made that harder to implement, but I suppose I mean texture-wise too.

I’M GOING ON A TANGENT THOUGH LOL. I am trying to imagine how we could mix the premise of escaping to space with Ingo’s demise in PLZA.

I think it would be pretty funny (if you don’t take it too seriously, as it could get depressing fast) to explore a concept where in the midst of this environmental destruction, Ingo disappears to Hisui right before the rest of humanity must escape to space. So when Ingo is returned to his own time, technically he’s back home, but he’s now the sole human on a planet entirely inhabited by Pokemon while everyone else is in space.

The pokemon see him and they’re like “A HUMAN!! We did it!! People are starting to come back!!” And prematurely celebrate before eventually realizing no, no one else is here except for This Guy. How’d he get here again?

(I’m sure Ingo and Emmet’s pokemon would be overjoyed to see him again though, if you’d like to think he’s dropped back in Unova instead of Kanto, when the game takes place. They’d be so excited to show him around the new pokemon-centric society they’ve all built while humanity was away)

Really fun concept, anon!! I think it’s something a lot of people could play with a lot differently depending on what kind of themes they’d like to explore with it.

What does it have to do with you?

Also why is it a problem when they filled out they’re not interested? At least they’re being honest. Is that a problem now?

In regards to this ask

From my understanding, this project has already had harassment directed towards it in its inbox (they made a post about it if you did not see it), so I am taking it in good faith that anon is just concerned that these were attempts to continue further harassing the project and inflate a look of disinterest.

However I know that projects commonly have sections/questions like this to weed out people that are not interested in the theme/media itself to warrant buying the accompanying merch, but still want to see the project itself supported. Or vice versa, to find people who aren’t personally interested in the media the merch is involving, but care enough to still want to support it! At least most every project I’ve personally been involved with/witnessed from the sides has done this!

I do not know if that’s what was happening here, but that is how I interpreted that and it seems you are too.

I agree though, I support this project’s efforts but I’m not the best person to come to this about because I am not a part of organizing this at all. But I’m hoping it’s just someone concerned for it!

It’s great to see these because I have some WIPs that are incredibly close to two of these already (the first one and the fourth one, if you remember your list). But I love all of these concepts and would like to consider them too for their own short fics.

I keep saying this but I hope to get them out soon. Still managing health stuff among other things!!
