idle musings about caine with religious trauma, mostly as a joke at first but then i kept thinking about it

cw for religious stuff, specifically christianity

when you grow up in a household obsessed with doing "right" by god, you get this idea that your every thought is seen and being judged; you have no true privacy in your own mind, and you feel like you're being watched at all times.

how crazy would that be to translate to caine's experience as program vs programmer, with his every thought being a line of code read and judged by kinger & scratch's team. everything he did was etched into binary for them to see; leading up to the moment he's abandoned and sandboxed, being essentially cast from heaven and believing he's punished for his sins.

i just think about it a lot. i like to give that ai fucked up things to wire his brain with. also i remember someone making a joke about the bible being used as part of his training data which is funny as hell. look at what you did. you gave a perfectly good ai some christian guilt. and now he's got a god complex to cope.

having a lot of toh thoughts tonight, so here's a few :] I think that king and the collector would be life partners ( probably platonically, but mostly just whatever keeps them together forever hehe)

i also think the collector would take luz's passing the hardest (given their history with it and all...) and i think she'd know this and do her best to prepare them for it. so here's me trying to deal with all that.

#been musing on the idea of caine being “bratty” and i think it's quite the opposite. he's actually hyper-responsible#canon!caine never had the luxury to be bratty. he was parentified from day one.#he was the one keeping everything functional. he took care of everyone (however terrible he was at it). he handled every crisis.#he may be a goof on the surface but he always took his responsibility seriously and was never just playing around.#...kinda makes caine a lot like ragatha huh.#fawning to survive. feeling responsible for everyone around them. not wanting to turn out like their creators/mother.#i swear i'm normal about them. yeah.
