I listened to this album on repeat for the first year I lived on my own when I was starting to come of age into my mid-twenties, when I started dating for the first time and started to become comfortable, finally, with all the things I like about myself. I was working as a freelance writer but barely getting by. I somehow managed to win 1989 tour tickets on the radio and was so happy because I couldn’t afford them otherwise. It felt so special, like I was doing what I was supposed to be doing even though it was so hard sometimes. 5 years later and a lot has changed for me but this album is still so special to me.
