Reporter: So a lot of people say you write protest songs -
Bob Dylan: I don't write protest songs. My songs have no meaning. Any meaning they have comes from your own mind. You know, people call me a folk singer but I'm not and you sit there with your pen and paper like a fascist and write what people tell you to. That's why they were so mad when I turned to rock and roll. But the fans - the fans think they understand what the songs mean when the words just fall into my brain. And - and they come up to me thinking I'm some kind of prophet when I actually have no idea what I'm doing.
