Asexuality Mentioned In Euphoria
I don't know how many aces know about this.
I don't like that kinda content, but I have an intense swish on Zendaya Coleman so I decided to watch it to support her.
It's a very brief moment (they just said the word but hey). It kinda took me off guard 'cause Euphoria is such a sexually explicit show, but it made me happy non the less. Especially since it was brought up so casually, like it's a normal thing - because it is.
With a show that's so sexually explicit mention asexuality with the normality that asexuality is. I just had this sense of euphoria *pun intended*
If any of you want to check out that brief moment, here's the timestamp:
Season 1 episode 3 - 43:39
the world is full of love that's not romantic
a life without romantic love doesn't equal a loveless life
Say it with me: There are 8 kinds of love!
Storge (the love you feel for family, familiar love), Philia (the love you feel for friends, platonic love), Agape (love likely felt only by animals, like dogs, pure unconditional love), Eros (the love you feel for your partner, romantic/sexual love), Philautia (the love you feel for oneself, healthy self-love), Ludus (a love tip-toing between Philia and Eros,Ā āplayfulā love), Mania (a love some people with various disorders can experience, unhealthy and obsessive love, the only bad love), Pragma (the love you feel after a long time of being together, usually romantically speaking, a mature and stable love)
I love everything about this
Thereās room under the umbrella ā¤ļø
(A small sketch thing to let aces and aros know that theyāre loved and welcome here! Happy pride)
Heyyy woo! Iām finally ready to share this online~ This has just been my experience being Ace. Iām selling these at cons and will have them at MSP Spring Con (at the MN state fair grounds, yo!)
But Iāve also been trying out gumroad too - so you can get a pdf of it off there too if you want~
A witch puts a spell on a girl, a sleeping spell that promises the girl shall wake through true loveās kiss. Men come and kiss her. She slumbers. Women come and press their lips to hers, but still she sleeps. Many years past, and the girl remains still. One bright morning, Ā a lost little boy finds her resting spot and clears the dust and grime from her face. He offers her a kiss on her forehead, and her eyes flutter open. She never feels romantic love for a man nor a woman, and she cares for the boy until the day she dies.
A young woman is imprisoned in a castle by a monstrously formed prince. The servants of the castle hope for them to fall in love, and when the spell is broken they assume their prayers have been answered. They are all surprised, but nonetheless pleased, when it is revealed to them that the young woman and prince are the truest of friends, and nothing more.
They say the kingdom is ruled by an evil queen, a woman who is incapable of loving. She is unmarried, she has no consorts, and she wishes for no partner. She is the wretched queen, the heartless queen. She must hate her daughter, for her daughter is beautiful, and women are incapable of liking another woman whoās prettier than themselves. It must be for this reason that the princess was sent away, not for how she was attacked by a man in the woods. They say the kingdom is ruled by an evil queen because she cannot love. The queen loves her daughter, and that is enough for them both.
There lives a prince who is forced to choose a bride at the ball. He meets many beautiful women, but find none which he loves. He spies one in a gorgeous gown and wonder in her eyes, and he dances with her all night long. The kingdom is sure he has found his bride. When the clock strikes midnight he tells her how he will never love a woman, or a man, in the way he is expected to. The beautiful woman smiles and tells him she expects nothing from him. The next morning the prince and the beautiful woman are missing, having run off together to see the world. They leave their shoes behind in their haste.
Many kinds of love exist. It doesnāt all have to be romantic.
Love this so much
I would love a whole book of fairy tales featuring folks who are on the asexual and/or aromantic spectrum!!!
this is giving me many ideas

You know what I just realized? The movie Maleficent actually did that š²

Ace and Allo conversation #1
*At rehearsals taking a break*
Me: *grabs waterbottle* I'm so thirsty!
Friend: *euphoric look on her face* That's my whole mood!
Me: ...no...that's...not what I meant...
Aromantic-spectrum Union for Recognition, Education, and Advocacy (AUREA) is happy to announce the website - aromanticism.org - weāve been working on has been launched! We assemble general information and community updates. The website includes FAQ, vocabulary, research, news feed, online resources, links to in-person groups, and printable educational materials. Our aim is also to be a contact point for researchers and media looking to explore the aromantic experiences.
To be all that, weāre also looking for volunteers! You may (and please do, thatād be really great) also contact us to inform us about an aromantic-themed event, an article mentioning aromanticism, new group, new research (or old one that we missed), anything that is relevant to aromanticism and that we, in our nonomnipotence may miss otherwise!
This needs to be spread
i was thinking of ways to redesign the demisexual flag because the triangle apparently makes some people unconfortable. What do you guy think of these?
I made some demiromantic edits of these, I hope you donāt mind :) Personally I like the second one better :0c OP do you mind if I use these in edits?
These flag designs look amazing, but, honestly, I wish it wasnāt done in response to people being āuncomfortableā about the black triangle in the demisexual and demiromantic flags.
The only people who I see claim that the black triangle in those flags are taken from the inverted black triangle during World War II are either exclusionists, or people who were confused/tricked by them.
The triangles used during World War 2 have been reclaimed multiple times, including in the gay, lesbian, and bi communities, and people falsely believe that the demi- flags using a black triangle are trying to take away the influence of others reclaiming the triangle by using a similar symbol in their flag. However, there is no historical ties between the triangle used in demisecual/demiromantic flags and the triangle used during World War 2. In fact, the triangles used by the lesbian, gay, and bi communities all use the same inverted triangles, while the demi communities simpmy use a rotated triangle.
Iām not trying to take away from these edits. I think they look amazing and know that they were made by a memember of the aspe c community, I just want people to understand why they felt like this was necessary in the first place, People will use any excuse to they can think of to discredit demisexual and demiromantic people, and the claim that the black triangle us an old Nazi symbol us one of the go-to reasons.
Dear exclusionists
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE DEMISEXUAL FLAG
