Zelda AU centering around Demise’s Curse!

There was a huge war centuries ago, in which the corrupted Ganon threatened to destroy the world. The battle caused massive repercussions in which most people died.

Now they are all being reborn.

All memories of past lives are sealed until a certain, specific trigger awakens them. Once a person has been awoken, they are vulnerable to be corrupted by the malice, Demise’s Curse.

Devastated by their assigned fate, they start to turn into creatures full of nothing but hatred.

Character Introduction of Vaalni

Some (old) notes:

- height: 5'3; age: 18 years old

- has a part of the Triforce on the back of his right hand (power), keeps it hidden

- has not awakened yet; doesn't remember his past lives (Vaati, ...)

- his actual family left him in a forest as a newborn after seeing the Triforce of power on his hand; Ezelo found him

- lives with his guardian Ezelo deep in the forest (Ezelo tries to keep him safe and hidden because of Vaalni's piece of the Triforce and because he feels he has failed as a mentor in their past lives)

- desires knowledge, loves reading

- despite not being allowed to enter the town (Ezelo's rule), he often sneaks out to visit the kingdom's vast library

- carries around a journal to note down anything he deems interesting

- best friends with Lin since childhood

- seems ignorant but actually cares a lot

Character Introduction of Sheik

Some notes:

- hair is naturally sort of curly/wavy, straightened it for most of their life to appear more like their ancestors

- cut hair with their knives to quickly adopt the role of Sheik in an emergency to disguise themselves

- learned to fight from Impa and Delok (Byrne) ever since childhood (it took some persuasion but Delok gave in quickly for self-defense reasons and Impa soon relented)

- of all the things they felt they had to do to fulfill their destiny, learning and playing the harp is something they genuinely love

- doesn't have any real friends because they've never really found themselves; only living the role of the princess as they convinced themselves they were born to do

(- will learn to understand themselves during the au and develop an own sense of self, discarding the princess persona and living freely as Sheik)

“My parents died two years after I was born. I can’t even remember them.”

“I assume it will never come to pass. Therefore my personal opinions on this matter are irrelevant.”

Dear Sheik, How do you walk around everywhere without shoes or sandals? Or is there something beneath your stockings that make walking easier?

“It is part of the traditional Sheikah attire.”

“I’m glad Vaalni went with me even though he didn’t want to. By now he’s just as curious about the forest as I am!”
