This has always happened in my family, I have a sister and our parents mix up our names very often.

It's especially funny how after me coming out as trans my mom sometimes accidentally calls me by my cousin's 4 year old daughter's name. The mixing up between my sister's name still continues.

I theorise that since I came out relatively close to when my... niece, or 1rst cousin? (I don't know what that is called) Was born the two new names are grouped together in the head. Similarly, their head still makes a connection with my sister and me so that the names still get mixed up sometimes

Holy shit you are so right this actually drove me crazy. Uzi being surrounded by people who didn't accept her yet fought & never gave up trying to find her place in the world, letting people in once she was given the chance and growing into herself. Jax being surrounded by people who would've - who DID accept her, but stayed stuck and self sabotaging, refusing to let anyone in no matter how many chances she was given until it became her demise. If uzi is a love letter to being yourself jax a cautionary tale about repressing it.

A girl who was herself no matter what came her way and a girl who never allowed herself to be. Literal hope & despair covered in layers of anger & hurt
