Happy pride month to him
Miss Congeniality, 2000.
Today is the only day that I can repost this!
love when fictional men are so devoted to their partner it makes them dangerous and insane. very slutty behavior keep it up king
Something about Lucifer being cuffed by Heaven. He can't hurt sinners, but as we saw with the Might of Lilith, they didn't take that power completely.
Hubris on their part? Maybe. Preservation of the angelic ideal, even when so far fallen? Sure.
But either way, they have primed him to either be taken advantage of by sinners or to join forces with them, and whew boy. Could you imagine what he could do when he's focusing that power, not having it extracted from him?
They disabled friendly fire for the wrong team.
the best fanfic is the one the author had fun writing actually.
the second best is the one the author used to work through some issues.
the third best is the one the author wrote out of spite due to some really dogshit discourse going on in their fandom
Reblog to let your followers know that despite your current obsession your previous obsessions still exist and are simply lying dormant until they awaken and strike again
This was gonna be a shitpost but then I got really into designing a Heaven design for Alastor’s mom and I can’t believe this is the first time I draw that PFFFT 🪽
Yay! She got one!
don’t worry guys Lucifer is safe from any manipulation in season 3 because Alastor is the second dumbest bitch in hell
I've written Radioapple with the inherent dynamic working because Alastor is attracted to power.
Now I need to write Lucifer as the first to fall, not because Alastor’s power is attractive... but because Lucifer is attracted to creativity.
I'm picturing Lucifer in the scary box while the details of Alastor’s plans unfold above, head snapping up and eyes narrowed as he ignores the bad tickles for a moment. "Something incredibly sexy just happened nearby. "
aromantics during february
freak4freak is always so awesome but another character dynamic that i think is really great is freak vs freak. you're the only person who understands me and i'm the only person who understands you. unfortunately this also does not stop either of us from hating each other and in fact it might even make everything significantly worse for everyone involved
Enemies to Married Enemies - Radioapple style
Lucifer is capital S suspicious of this seedy looking demon hanging out at his Daughter's hotel, boasting the title of hotelier like it has any legitimate power anywhere other than the crumbling hotel itself. It's obnoxious. It's pathetic. It's annoying, really.
Personality alone would put this radio demon on his normal shit list, but when Lucifer starts to really pay attention, he quickly moves him to the Ultimate Shit List - population Alastor and that one duck he could never get the wing right on. He watches how Alastor targets Vaggie with snide comments, inserts himself between her and Charlie in conversations whenever he gets the chance, and how he openly criticizes her suggestions on group activities. Lucifer is seething. Sure he hasn't been around, but this guy?? The fucking audacity of this guy to step in the way of Charlie's happiness, to actively seek opportunities to drive a wedge in between the two women.
Lucifer's seen the playbook before... he wrote several chapters of it, in fact! Alastor is clearly trying to force Vaggie out so he can step in as Charlie's partner, and Lucifer is not going to let that shit fly.
So he thinks. He can't just get rid of the man, Charlie would be devastated. If only he could just find a reason to keep him busy, preferably far far away from the hotel.
Overlord business was right out; Lucifer didn't give two shits about getting involved with all that nonsense. Paperwork? That did keep Lucifer busy, on the days when he bothered to do any. He couldn't hire the demon, he was sure to say no. Making a deal? They were often more trouble than they were worth, and if Lucifer seemed too eager Alastor would become suspicious and refuse on principle.
Shit, the last time Lucifer had been actively busy he was touring the other Rings of Hell, doing his yearly review of the other Sin's domains. Bureaucratic bullshit - tedious but necessary. He hadn't bothered with the tour for the last seven years, not since Lillith left. They'd always weathered the trip together, since it kept them on the road for so much time.
Wait.
Dealing with seven years of unmitigated bullshit would be quite an undertaking. It could be a perfect excuse to keep Alastor away from the hotel. Alastor would feel important, the pompous prick, and Lucifer could keep an eye on him. More importantly he could give Charlie and Vaggie some space to heal whatever was going on between them.
But the radio demon was a sinner. He couldn't travel between the rings, not even with the King's permission. Lillith had been a sinner too, but her station afforded her the ability regardless.
He was going to have to figure out a way to make the Radio Demon his consort. Fuck.
Anything for Charlie.
Thinking about this again and post season two is an absolutely perfect time for this to happen. Alastor is at the hotel and poised to make trouble, seeing as he's not tied down by any deals.
He could easily undermine Charlie now, and his cavalier attitude towards everyone makes everyone else very uneasy.
Lucifer is at his most vulnerable in Pride, now that sinners have an inkling that the devil might be a bit less bulletproof than he first came off, and they've got decades of pent up aggression they'd love to work out.
So Charlie asks lucifer to deal with alastor while Vaggi mentions it might be good for Lucifer to leave the ring while they figure out next steps with Heaven. She barely wants to be here, she can't imagine how Lucifer feels.
And Lucifer, fresh off of pissing Charlie off so much that she sent him away, well. Maybe being useful, being proactive, will make him feel better about the very tenuous relationship they've got right now.
It's just a simple ceremony, for Alastor as a sinner to gain access to the Hells. Lucifer’s the only one that knows it's technically a wedding.
why do people not get that charlie telling vox "i think anyone can be redeemed" isn't her being naive its her refusing to excuse his actions. because if he can be redeemed then hes choosing not to. thats why he asked the question in the first place, he was trying to break her down and get her to admit that him being a monster is inevitable, and when she doesnt give him that, his smile falters because he wants to see himself as not responsible for his actions. this is hell, after all. does being good even matter? charlie thinks it does. subscribe for more #epiccharliemoments
What I can't get over is how Lucifer immediately defaulted to thinking Alastor told Vox about his not so little secret.
Alastor figured out very early on that the Devil couldn't cause him harm, because if Lucifer was able to rend him asunder the way Adam tried, well. He'd have done it by now. And the broadcast of Lucifer fighting Adam is everywhere in Hell - hard to not keep that circulating when it brings so many viewers and supports the dictator narrative the Vees Vox keeps playing into. Sinners have more awareness of Lucifer’s presence than they have in a good long while.
Vox isn't the only one that can spin a story! So Alastor is using this incredibly little known fact to his advantage, at least before the gig is up. He's injured, weak. And still metered by his little deal. But who could really say that when he's over here picking fights with the goddamned devil?
I feel a mighty need to write scenes of these squabbles; Alastor going out of his way to fight with Lucifer both in and out of the hotel, his own showboating matched in equal fervor by Luci... because well. Alastor is annoying as shit but he's feeling more alive than he has in centuries.
you can never escape a weird little freak that loves you
this was meant to be romantic but now i’m realizing it reads more like. a threat
i feel so seen!!

Examining 'gender detachment' in the asexual community
Saving @derinthescarletpescatarian 's tags because I just like the way they are worded.
This is so cool
This is so validating because the respondents in this paper are saying some of the same things I've been feeling and thinking for years.
I'm asexual. I figured that out not long after I first came across the term in high school. But figuring out my gender took a lot longer. I didn't really think about my gender identity for years, it wasn't until I was in college that I started trying to figure out what my gender was. That process took years.
I didn't really feel attached to my assigned gender, but I also didn't feel the gender dysphoria that trans people described. I didn't particularly feel like I was neither of those either. For a long time, I honestly didn't feel like any of the gender descriptions and identities I was coming across really fit. I just didn't care that much about what my actual gender was. Eventually I decided upon the agender label as that seemed the most apt. As the paper says, it's really hard to be truly without gender in this highly gendered world. Agender is a way of defining myself in a way that people who experience gender might be able to understand when "I'm just me." isn't really an acceptable answer to the "what's your gender?" question.
I don't mind being perceived as a gender, none of them are offensive to me. While I do like when I am perceived as male or at least not female, I think that more has to do with growing up female and not wanting to be pushed into traditional female roles and values than a connection or repulsion to any gender. I'm impossible to misgender because I frankly don't care.
Honestly, the biggest problem I have with my gender, is trying to define it to people. There's been a large push in recent years for asking people for their pronouns, or including pronouns in things like email signatures and surveys. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a bad thing! This is very affirming for a lot of people. But it feels like I need to pick something that doesn't quite fit. At pride, for instance, there's always pronoun buttons. But they're all she/her, he/him, they/them, she/they, he/they, it/it, xe/xir, etc etc. And that's great. I'm always glad that there are a lot of options for people. But there's never any pins for any/all pronouns. I've never picked up a free pronoun pin at pride, despite always looking, because they all feel like picking what pronouns I don't want poeple to use and the answer is that I don't care. I fround an any/all pronoun pin once at a queer museum and I cried.
I really suggest you read the paper if you haven't. Not just the article, the whole paper. This is probably the most seen I've felt in a long time.
