“Ah!” The young teen’s eyes lit up in recognition, eyeing the visage before him. Such commanding aura, it could only be~ Yes, it had to be! His fellow third year, the former student council president, the current leader of Undead! Sakuma Rei! Even if, perhaps, they weren’t on such good terms, Tsumugi hadn’t seen a familiar face in quite a while. Of course, there was Shu-kun, yet the other made a point to avoid him. Perhaps it would be different with Rei?
Excitedly Tsumugi would run over to him, a wide smile on his face as he did so. “Rei-kun, Rei-kun~! It’s been a while!”
-- -After so long of being surrounded by people completely foreign to him, Rei almost didn’t register the familiarity of the voice calling out his name. Yet, when he turned around, there was no mistaking he knew the owner’s face.
“ Oh? Do my eyes deceive me, or is that indeed you, Aoba-kun? ” A part of him silently cried out in relief. The voice from the Terminal hadn’t lied — his old friends from Yumenosaki were here. Though, he’d expected to run into Ritsu, or perhaps a member of Undead before anyone else.
But he’d be a fool to look a gift horse in the mouth. That, and despite past events, Rei couldn’t ever bring himself to hate Tsumugi Aoba. Besides, it wasn’t like fine attacked him without reason -- he’d long since accepted that he couldn’t really blame them for bringing about his downfall back then. And so, as the other man approached, the smile that appeared on Rei’s lips was the first genuine one of his since arriving.
“ Undoubtedly, it has been quite awhile, hasn’t it? Kukuku~ It’s good to see you in such high spirits. My apologies, I probably look like a mess in comparison, but I’ve spent all day looking for my dear brother, you see. I can’t help but worry about his ability to handle himself in a situation like this … ” He trailed off, then hesitated. “ Well, enough of that. Why not tell this old man how you’ve been faring instead, Aoba-kun...? ♪ ”
