guys im at a family dinner with my brother's in-laws but before i forget, he finished OPLA season 2 now and i asked him who he thought the guy with the hook at the end was, he said "Smoker's father" with FULL confidence, just because of the cigar
summary - Zoro takes great pride in the fact that you openly seek comfort from him when you need it
warnings - SPOILERS for season 2
a/n - this was mostly borne from my own vulnerability, not meant to make anyone feel weak or pathetic or anything, so please don't think you're weak in this fic
It was no secret that Zoro was the second strongest Straw Hat. He had proved it time and time again, surpassing everyone except maybe Luffy in raw strength.
But surpassing everyone including Luffy in brutality.
Everyone but you found that terrifying. While they were all afraid of his very aggressive nature, you found comfort in it. In fact, he was the crewmember that made you feel the safest.
And not just because he was your boyfriend.
The Merry made it to Reverse Mountain. After a very eventful visit to Loguetown, your crew had reached the most dangerous entryway into the Grand Line, and your captain faced the dangers head on while the rest of you scrambled around behind him.
And then came the drop.
You felt your heart sink when you saw the steepness of your descent, your eyes widening enough to betray your nervousness.
But as soon as his familiar arm wrapped around your waist, anchoring you firmly to his broad chest, you felt your entire body relax. Because you knew his grip was iron-clad - he would never let you fall.
Zoro watched your body relax against his, and a profound sense of satisfaction filled him. He would never openly admit it, he didn't do earnest emotions, but making you feel safe was his biggest pride.
"You okay?" He murmured into your ear, instinctively lowering his face into your neck as your familiar scent filled his nose.
"Yeah, great," you answered with a shaky smile, though your voice came out a little high-pitched. Your hand came to rest atop his on your stomach, his skin warm and soothing under your touch.
"Hmm," he hummed, then pressed the softest kiss to your shoulder - an act that belied his usual aggressive behaviour.
The next time you instinctively sought him out was when the two assassins had escaped while the crew was distracted by the appearance of an island ahead. As you turned to look at the pair, your hand found his and you laced your fingers together, a gesture that spoke louder than any verbal cry for reassurance.
He turned to look at you, and when no one was looking, the smallest of smiles touched his lips as he noticed the ease in your posture when your hand gripped his.
Pride swelled in his chest once more.
You felt his gaze and turned to look at him, your cheeks getting warm, "What?"
"Nothing," he murmured, "You're cute when you rely on me."
Your cheeks burned hotter, your heart skipping a few beats.
In Whiskey Peak, you stuck to his side like glue. Walked side by side, hand in hand, through the streets. Sat at the bar with you on his lap, one arm hooked around your waist while the other held a bottle. If he needed to use a hand, he'd sooner let go of the alcohol than you - which spoke volumes.
During the fight with the hundred Baroque Works agents, Zoro was flying across the tavern cutting them down like they were nothing but air. You tried to join him, but he was a blur of silver and green, and before you could even get to an agent, they were dead.
And then there was the big one.
"Zoro!"
The minute he heard you call him, he cut down the agent in front of him, vaulted over the stairs railing, and put himself between the big guy and you. One hand reaching behind him to make sure you were a safe distance away.
"Go help those two idiots," he nodded towards where Usopp and Sanji sat tied up, without taking his eyes off the massive agent that had threatened you.
You ran over to cut your crewmembers loose without argument, but looked over your shoulder to watch your boyfriend swiftly dispatch that agent too. You were about to take care of the ones who'd tied Usopp and Sanji up, but Zoro cut them down on his way back up to Mister 9, glancing back once to make sure you were okay.
The one rare moment where you protected him came when he faced off against Miss Monday and Mister 9. You let yourself be caught by Mister 9's ropes that shot out from his bats, flinching when he tugged hard enough to string you up like meat.
Zoro growled, "Big mistake."
And swiftly took care of both of them. And another who seemingly came out of nowhere. When it was done, you immediately moved into his arms and he already knew what you needed. With a vulnerability he only showed to you, he wrapped his arms around you and practically crushed you against his chest, his breathing slightly heavy but otherwise unharmed.
Little Garden was...complicated.
But when Mister 3 wiped the paint off your boyfriend's leg, his immediate reaction was to find you. His eyes darted around until they landed on you, standing next to him also half-encased in wax.
"You're okay," he mumbled, more to himself than you, completely ignoring the assassins in front of him.
When you broke free, courtesy of Usopp, you barely ducked a bomb thrown your way by Mister 5. Zoro growled low in his throat, knocking another aside with one of his swords.
"Coward," he glared at the Baroque Works agent. "Focus on me. Unless you're scared, even with me trapped in wax."
That seemed to work, getting Mister 5's attention off you long enough for you to rush to Usopp's aid. Behind you, your boyfriend skillfully held Mister 5 at bay, not even breaking a sweat. As you propped your sharpshooter friend up, however, he insisted on helping Zoro and called out to him to fire a flaming star.
You were left in awe at the sight of Zoro leaping from the wax cake with his swords aflame, before promptly slicing Mister 5's abdomen deeply enough to instantly kill.
But it wasn't just during attacks.
On the ship after your adventure in Little Garden, you would go up to him and just wrap your arms around him or bury your face in his neck. Sometimes burrow into his chest like a kitten seeking warmth.
"Hmm," Zoro would hum in satisfaction, strong arms engulfing you in warmth, safety and comfort.
"You're the embodiment of safety and security, you know that?" You mumbled into his chest, tightening your arms around his bulky torso. "Any time I see you, I know I'm safe."
Zoro's breath caught, any thoughts he had dissipating in his mind at your sincere, heartfelt words. Then he held you a little bit tighter, conveying silently how much your words meant to him, in a way he could never put into words.
Then again in Drum Kingdom, the swordsman was your safety net.
"What the hell are those?" Your eyes widened as you handed Zoro the binoculars, your heart thundering in your chest.
The swordsman settled on hand on the small of your back, a gesture you found to be very calming. Even without words. He pulled you back, settled both hands on your waist, and kissed you. Not for long, but just enough.
So when the monsters came knocking, you didn't feel so afraid.
Every time you thought your strength was waning, every doubt that crossed your mind about getting out of this...you looked over at him fighting his hardest and were instantly motivated to push onward.
And after everything, he still insisted on carrying you through the tunnel up to the castle. He still insisted on lifting you up into Chopper's sleigh.
These weren't acts of service. He believed that word implied obligation. But he did it because he wanted to. Because he needed to. Because it was now a basic instinct to protect you, to care for you, to ensure you could always depend on him.
As you watched him lift Chopper onto his shoulder, your heart felt full. Your chest felt warm. Your stomach fluttered.
Because you knew you'd fallen in love with the right man.
summary - there was almost nothing the Marine captain was afraid of...the one exception being you during your worst week
warnings - mentions of blood
Tashigi was starting to think her glasses prescription had changed. Because there was definitely no chance that what she thought she was seeing was actually happening.
You had walked into the room, clearly in a sour mood from some problem or another, shoulders tense and lips pulled into a scowl that would scare even the most violent pirates. Captain Smoker visibly tensed in response, then immediately stood up and stepped aside so you could sink into his chair.
Rubbing your temples and grumbling about some idiot Marine recruit.
The younger woman looked between you and Smoker several times, a little confused, her jaw almost hitting the floor when her captain moved behind you and started massaging your shoulders.
"You're breaking my bones," you suddenly snapped at him irritably, and Tashigi expected him to glare and snap back. She even took a few steps back.
Instead, Smoker flinched. Visibly flinched, his movements halting. Then he worked your shoulders more gently, and your scowl turned into a softer glare.
What just happened? Was what Tashigi could only wonder as she quickly left the room, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.
A few hours later, the usually stoic Marine captain could be seen leaving the local shop with a bunch of bags on his arm. The large man looked almost comical stumbling through the streets, even panic-ordering food that he generally avoided eating. If he did eat, that is.
Townspeople moved out of his way, eyes wide, and for the second time that day Tashigi was absolutely stunned. To the point of speechlessness.
The captain stepped into his office a little hesitantly, something he almost never did. When you looked up, he held his breath until he saw the smile on your face, then relaxed.
"What took you so long?" You rose from the chair, skipping over to him like you hadn't been on a murderous rampage earlier in the day.
"Lines were long," was his gruff answer as he handed you the packages. "Some people in this town are incredibly daft."
You saw a side of him that no one else saw. Not completely soft, but not entirely tough and strict either. He was somewhere in the middle, dropping his bravado act for something more real around you.
Like now, he let you sit on his lap while he looked through reports, not even commenting about your potential mess on his desk as you snacked on what he'd brought you.
The very next day, you were out for blood again.
He had just blown smoke in the direction of a pirate who found themselves unlucky enough to face him, just as you were walking by. Immediately smoke filled your lungs, and you coughed and spluttered while the pirate ran away.
"Are you okay?" Your boyfriend asked, his usual flat tone imbued with concern.
"Go!" You snapped, then coughed again.
Tashigi's jaw dropped.
When she approached her superior later that day, tempted to ask why he feared you so, she only opened her mouth before he cut her off.
"There's always one week," he told her, "Where you do not, and I mean never, get in that woman's way. Even if you're right."
That's when Tashigi realised what was going on with you, and she had to hold back laughter and fight back a smile at how silly it seemed that her captain was scared of his girlfriend on her period.
She saw why a few days later.
"Ridiculous!" You were screaming when she walked into his office one afternoon, only to see one of your signature throwing knives fly past her head and sink into the wood behind Smoker's head, as he shifted into smoke to let it pass through.
"Sweetheart, calm down-" Smoker tried to speak, raising his hands.
You decided you didn't like his tone, "Don't tell me to calm down!" Another throwing knife sailed through his chest.
"Okay, I'm sorry," The white-haired Marine tried a gentler tone. "Will you please put the knives down? Let me hold you."
This was more patience than he ever showed anyone.
Then his eyes widened, "Sweetheart, you're bleeding."
Your eyes widened, and you looked down, then immediately started crying. Smoker started, just slightly, then reacted. Wrapped you up in his jacket, threw you over his shoulder, and took you to your shared home.
"What are you doing?!"
"Taking you home."
"I can walk!"
"What? I should let you walk and pick a fight with anyone who so much as looks at you wrong?" He puffed out smoke from his cigars as his free hand kept you over his shoulder.
"..."
"Thought so."
He tossed you unceremoniously onto your shared bed, fetching you clean clothes and tossing those at you as well. Then stood and crossed his arms, waiting for you to change.
"What?" You snapped.
"I need your clothes," he gestured to the messed ones you wore.
"Why? You don't know how to clean clothes."
He had to use all his willpower not to sigh or growl in frustration. Last time he did that, you actually kicked his ass for it.
"Don't you dare sigh-"
"Wasn't going to, sweetheart."
You narrowed your eyes at him, then slowly changed your clothes. When you handed him the messed ones, he promptly threw them in the trash.

summary - you are his opposite in every sense of the word, and yet he finds himself drawn to you regardless
warnings - SPOILERS for season 2
Your attempt at laying low went south five minutes into exploring Loguetown.
Drawn here by news of the festival, you were curious to see the execution platform yourself. You'd grown up with tales of Gold Roger and the Great Pirate Era he birthed, even becoming one yourself. It felt like coming full circle being in this town.
But you didn't get very far before you ran into the most dangerous man in town - Marine Captain Smoker.
"Oh, sorry-" You stopped dead when you looked up and saw his uniform, your eyes widening.
"You're new here," the white-haired man noted, smoke wafting from his cigars.
Yes, cigars, plural. You couldn't fathom why, but he had two.
"Yeah, I'm in town for the festival," you lied smoothly, though your confidence was cracking under the intense gaze of the extremely attractive Marine. "Heard it was fun."
His eyes roamed over you once, twice...like he was trying to decide if you were a threat or not just based on how you looked. Then he pulled his cigars out, blew out some smoke, and suggested something that made you tense.
"I'm about to go on patrol. I could give you a tour, if you're interested." Something about the way he said it told you this was not an invitation extended to just anyone.
"Oh, uh..." You trailed off when he started walking, then followed behind him until you caught up to him. "Thank you."
He blew out more smoke, "It gets busy this time of year. Pirates from all over come and try their luck. A newcomer like you could get hurt in the process."
Awkward. Since you were one yourself. But you didn't mention that.
"That's...very thoughtful," you noted carefully, "From my experience, most Marines aren't very considerate about their citizens."
He arched an eyebrow and looked at you, "Which Marines have you met?"
"The Shells Town Marines," you answered.
He sighed heavily, "Yeah, those guys are shit."
You couldn't help but laugh at his blatant wording, and you swear you saw him crack a small smile but you didn't say anything. He was clearly not a frequent smiler and you were afraid to stop him from doing it.
Especially since you liked seeing it, and it added to your growing attraction to him. Which you were struggling to contain, but forced yourself to because you were from two different worlds.
"What were you doing in Shells Town anyway?" He asked, guiding you down a quieter street. "Heard that place is dead now after a pirate attacked the Marine base."
You tensed, because you knew what he was talking about. Monkey D. Luffy, the pirate who'd inadvertently saved your life when he barrelled through that base like it was made of foam.
"I was..." You didn't have to finish with a lame excuse, because a Marine ran up to you both just then, panting and saying something about pirates near the execution platform.
Smoker tensed, then turned to you, "Wait here. And don't come near the platform." He then followed the Marine, leaving you standing there stunned.
He planned on returning to you once he dealt with the pirates.
Unfortunately, your curiosity won and you followed anyway. Only to see the very pirate you had been tracking to try and join his crew...being harassed by the clown pirate Buggy.
You sighed, and joined the fray.
Smoker watched from a window as the pirates fought each other, eyes narrowing. He stopped his men from jumping in, waiting for either side to take each other out.
And that's when he saw you - manipulating the wind to drop yourself right in the middle of the battle. To join the fight.
"She's a pirate," he muttered, gritting his teeth.
"What?" Tashigi asked, confused.
"Nothing," he snapped. "Move in."
"And who might you be?" The blond pirate asked you flirtatiously, smiling your way charmingly as he kicked one of Buggy's crew in the face.
"Uh..."
"Stop those pirates!" A familiar voice rang out, interrupting your interaction. You turned to see Smoker approaching, flanked by more Marines.
"Get out of here!" A shirtless green-haired guy told the Straw Hats, gesturing in the direction of an exit.
With one last glance at Smoker, who was looking at you, you followed.
Only to run right into him when you'd split off with the flirty blond and his captain, Luffy. He swatted the two boys aside with ease, then stalked towards you.
"You never told me you were a pirate," he spoke first, fists still smoke.
"You never asked," you backed away, eyes wide, raising your hands to defend yourself.
His eyes narrowed, before he pulled the jitte from his back, aiming it at you, "Surrender now, and maybe I won't kill you." This was a far cry from his usual behaviour - he never asked for a pirate's surrender, only their head.
"I can't do that," your voice shook slightly. "Luffy saved my life. Marines were going to kill me."
Smoker hesitated, and Luffy took that opportunity to attack from behind. Along with his cook, they distracted Smoker from you just long enough for you to pull yourself together. When the Marine captain blew them away again, you were ready this time. With a flick of your wrist, you sent a gust of wind his way to dissolve his smoke, leaving him vulnerable.
"Let us go and maybe I won't hurt you," you echoed his threat, with a significant word change that he didn't fail to notice.
"If you go with that captain you'll die," he grit out, "If not by my hand, then by another Marine's."
"Why do you care?" Your eyes narrowed. "You hate pirates."
"I do," he rose to his feet, throwing the cook through a wall and then suffocating Luffy with smoke, all without taking his eyes off you. "But for some reason I don't understand...you are the exception."
Your heart almost stopped right there, "What?"
Before he could respond, a figure appeared behind him and knocked him off balance, forcing him to drop Luffy. You didn't hear what the hooded figure said, because then the blond grabbed you, his captain, and dragged you away from the scene.
Leaving your mind reeling from the Marine captain's words - a Marine captain known for his ruthless and merciless attitude towards pirates.
Why did you long for someone you couldn't have?
Back in Loguetown, Smoker rose to his feet after being swept away by Dragon. He surveyed his disturbed town, before his eyes locked onto the street leading to the docks. His mind wasn't on the retreating pirates, however...it was on you.
Why?
He didn't know yet. All he knew was that he'd spent his entire life hating pirates, but one had wormed it's way into his life and changed it entirely.
What kind of Marine was drawn to a pirate?
"I need a drink," he grumbled, making his way to the bar he usually visited. Knowing that one thing was true.
featuring - OPLA!Zoro x F!Reader, OPLA!Sanji x F!Reader
summary - your boyfriend is less than amused when you develop a teeny tiny crush on your crew's newest Marine threat, especially when said Marine shows interest
warnings - SPOILERS for season 2
a/n - sorry guys but OPLA!Smoker has a chokehold on me now (nowhere near as much as Zoro though, ofc) and this was a crack fic i just thought of...
ZORO
You got lost first.
Zoro was never going to let you live this down, and you were starting to think maybe you could avoid that by staying lost...only to slam right into a solid wall of muscle when you turned a corner.
"OW! Zo-" Your scolding died in your throat when you looked up and saw the most attractive Marine, and second most attractive man, you'd ever seen in your life. "Oh, um, sorry."
The Marine looked at you, did a double take, then raised an eyebrow, "You're new."
You opened, your mouth to say something, but nothing came out and your cheeks burned from the embarrassment. Your eyes kept drifting to his bare chest, and it was making you feel like an idiot.
"(Name)!" Your boyfriend called from behind you, and you heard the clanking of his swords as he jogged over to get you.
You stared at the Marine. The Marine stared at you. Zoro glared at both of you.
With a not-so-gentle push on the small of your back, the swordsman guided you away from the Marine captain. He was unusually silent as you walked to find the others, and you tried to break the silence but he was having none of it.
"Zoro-"
"No."
"You don't even know what I was going to say!"
"No."
"So then?!"
"No."
He put his hand on his swords, puffing out his chest slightly as he walked. You leaned forward and looked sideways to examine his puffed out chest, opening your mouth to speak.
"No."
"But-!"
"No."
"...Fine, I won't ask you to take your shirt off, then."
He raised an eyebrow, turning his head slightly to look at you. Then, looking back ahead, he casually said, "Get ready for my shirtless chest to be the only thing you think of for the next month."
Your knees buckled.
After finding out who he is...
"Dumbass."
"Hey!"
Zoro cackled like a madman, in a much better mood than he was earlier. Despite having just escaped Tashigi, a Marine, he was incredibly amused after finding out the shirtless man from earlier was Marine Captain Smoker.
"Will you stop laughing!" You grumbled, face burning. "It's not that funny!"
"Oh it is," your boyfriend chuckled, "Almost as funny as you getting lost first."
"..."
SANJI
You lost Zoro five minutes after you both went to look for swords for him. Now you stumbled around Loguetown, lost and confused, trying to remember where you'd come from.
You thought you had figured it out, only to turn and slam face first into someone's bare chest. That someone grunted, and you were about to get excited thinking you managed to track down your green-haired crewmate.
Only to look up and see the second most attractive man you'd ever seen, and your jaw even dropped slightly.
The white-haired man tilted his head slightly, regarding you with intrigue, "Haven't seen you around before."
"Y-yeah, I think I would have remembered you," your face burned, then your eyes widened when you realised you sounded like your boyfriend. "I-I mean-"
The white-haired with an abnormal two cigars in his mouth just chuckled, "Enjoy the festival." And walked off.
Leaving you staring after him.
Now Sanji was already grumpy. Not only was he stuck with babysitting Luffy while restocking the ship's food supply, but you had also been paired off with that stupid mosshead.
So when he found you, staring at a retreating man, his mood soured even more and he had to force a smile to greet you, "(Name), love, let's go before I kick that man in the face."
"Sanji!"
"Good, that's the only name you should remember," he kissed you.
"...What?"
"How about I cook and serve him to the sea kings in the Grand Line?"
"Sanji?!?!"
"There we go."
He grinned and kissed you again, and again, until you forgot what you were even scolding him about, then grinned triumphantly when he guided you away with you looking dazed.
After finding out who he is...
"...Not a word."
"I never said anything," the cook chuckled, leaning against the mast.
You side-eyed him hard, then started walking to help Nami unpack her things. Only to hear Sanji cackling behind you, clearly making fun of Smoker with Usopp behind you. Your face burned.
"Sanji!"
"Sorry love, but what idiot smokes two cigars at once?"
"..."
"Also, I don't think you're each other's type," he teased, laughing, confident now that his competition had been eliminated.
they hurt you by accident (Straw Hats + Ace, Law, Kaku)
featuring - Zoro x F!Reader, Ace x F!Reader, Sanji x F!Reader, Luffy x F!Reader, Usopp x F!Reader, Law x F!Reader, Kaku x F!Reader
summary - you are accidentally reminded of their strength
warnings - violence, mentions of blood
ZORO
He had meant to hit Sanji.
He really did.
But the idiot had ducked, and you were coming up right behind the cook. And before Zoro knew it, his fist was colliding with your nose.
His eyes widened.
Your eyes widened.
And then you fell backwards, clutching your nose that was now bleeding profusely. And whimpered. Tears filled your eyes before you could stop them. Your bottom lip trembled.
Zoro felt his soul leave his body.
"(Name)!" Sanji cried, turning to Zoro. "You brute!"
Zoro punched him even harder, sending him flying, before rushing to you, picking you up easily. His heavy steps echoed throughout the Sunny as he called for Chopper, sounding...scared? Panicked? Both? Both.
"I'm fine!" You tried to assure him, but your voice shook like you were trying to hold back your pain. "It's just a little blood."
He set you down on your bed and literally carried Chopper to you, dropping the little reindeer medic at your feet. Then he sat down in the corner of your room, like a puppy in a time out.
"Zoro," you called softly when Chopper had bandaged your nose. When he didn't look up, you repeated his name more insistently.
He looked up, and his eyes were pained. Full of guilt and remorse, like he had committed some heinous crime that he couldn't forgive himself for.
"It's okay," you stood up and walked over to him. "I'm fine, see?"
"I hit you," he stated bluntly.
"By accident!"
"I swore not to hit you," he argued.
"Accidents happen," you reminded him. "You didn't mean to."
"Your nose was bleeding," he spoke as if he didn't hear you.
You cupped his cheeks in your hand, guiding his gaze towards you again, "It wasn't your fault. What were you supposed to do?"
"Not hit you."
You groaned, "My point is that you couldn't have predicted you would hit me. And you couldn't have stopped in time. I don't blame you, so there's no reason you should blame yourself."
He looked at you, and you could almost hear the war going on in his head. Then he grabbed you, wrapped his arms around you like he wanted to meld your body with his, and buried his face in your hair.
"I'm sorry."
ACE
The unluckiest deflection of all time.
He was trying to hit an enemy, but one of the other crewmembers stumbled into his path, and the fiery blast ricocheted off that member's sword and hit you.
Your cry of pain and the clang of your weapon hitting the ground almost stopped the commander's heart.
Ace's head snapped in your direction, to see you clutching your burnt arm while ducking away from your attacker's strikes, and his guilt worsened. He quickly took care of that pirate and the one he had initially aimed for, before rushing to your side.
His eyes welling up, "(Name)-"
"It's okay," you quickly reassured him, though you winced right after that when someone clapped you on the back after the fight.
Ace was heartbroken.
He called for Marco immediately, stepping away from you because he didn't trust himself to touch you. He looked like a kicked puppy the entire way back to the ship, and almost jumped overboard when you got there.
"Ace, no!" You grabbed his hat, yanking him back and choking him with the string in the process. "Oops...sorry!"
"No, I deserved that," he pouted. "I'm the worst boyfriend in the world!" He wailed, flopping onto the bed next to you dramatically.
"Because you burnt me by accident?" You laughed. "Key words: by accident. Look, I'm fine!"
He gave you a look.
"I am!" You protested. "Honestly, I didn't even feel it."
"You cried out in pain."
"...I was being dramatic."
Once Marco was finished with your arm, you pulled your sulking boyfriend closer, "Come on, accidents happen."
"I don't want to be the cause of your pain, ever," he looked up at you, his eyes glassy.
Your expression softened, and you wrapped your arms around him tightly, "Seeing you like this is more painful than the actual injury. So can you please forgive yourself? For me?" You flashed him your sweetest smile.
He hesitated, but eventually caved, "Okay...for you. If you're sure you're okay. Are you sure?"
You sighed.
LAW
Trying to surprise Law had gone very poorly.
Honestly, you were more shocked that you actually startled him, but he was on edge after a very intense nightmare he'd had the night before that had shaken him - what it was, he never told you. But it rattled him more than anything ever had, so it must have been bad. Especially for him to have reacted like this to a surprise, which he usually has no reaction to.
He blinked once, twice, wondering if your glassy eyes and watery smile were a figment of his imagination. Because no way he actually hit you...
But there you stood, trying not to cry, smiling through your pain. But your bottom lip trembled, and even the thumbs up you gave him was shaky.
"I'm fine," you reassured him, then sniffed.
And then the first drop of blood hit the ground. Followed shortly by a stream flowing from your nostril. Law's body tensed, and then he was grabbing you and guiding you to your shared room.
"It's just a little blood," you protested.
He didn't say a word, getting to work the moment you sat down. He continued to treat you in silence, a distant look in his eyes that you were not used to seeing.
"Law," you frowned, "It's nothing."
He still didn't say anything, his gaze fixed solely on your nose. He was still rigid, and you could see his body tremble just slightly. Only enough for someone who knew him well enough to notice.
When he was done, he stepped back, opened his mouth to say something...then ultimately decided against it and walked out, disappearing for the rest of the day.
When he finally walked into your shared room again, it was nearing midnight. He had a cup of tea in one hand, and your favourite treat in the other. Again he moved without a word, placing the tea and treat on the table beside your side of the bed.
"Law..." your expression softened, "Thank you, but it really is okay. You did nothing wrong." You sat up slowly.
Then, so quietly you almost didn't hear it, "I'm sorry."
Your eyes widened a fraction, realising how heavily affected he was by striking you - even by accident. You reached for his hand, intertwining your fingers and squeezing it gently.
"There's nothing to apologise for," you told him quietly, timidly, "It wasn't your fault. I don't blame you, so you shouldn't blame yourself. I know you'd never hurt me intentionally."
This seemed to put him at ease, because he slid into the bed next to you and did something you rarely had the pleasure of experiencing - he held you. Just like that, for the rest of the night.
Grounding himself with your presence.
KAKU
Kaku was calm. Reserved. The kind of quiet that made your skin crawl and your heart stop beating.
But in this one moment, he was the most unstable, panicked man you'd ever seen. And it had been harmless, really. Well, almost harmless. Just a small cut on your arm to show for his accidental swing, which had been aimed at a pirate, actually.
But there it was, glaring back at him. A thin line of blood that he was intensely focused on, his eyes wild with panic.
He let out something between a choked sob and a growl. Which you refrained from laughing at, seeing that he currently looked like you'd just told him you were leaving him.
"Kaku, I'm-"
"Bleeding. Right." And he turned to run and get the first aid - yes, in the middle of a battle - to patch up your tiny little cut that you didn't even feel.
"I was going to say I'm-"
"Hurt? I know," he frowned, unnecessarily bandaging your arm. "And it was my fault. I'm sorry."
"I'm fine, Kaku!" You said hurriedly, "And it's a tiny cut that you gave me by accident. There's nothing to apologise for."
He looked like you'd just kicked him, "I gave it to you."
"Is that all you got?" You groaned. "BY ACCIDENT, Kaku."
He spent the rest of the battle distracted by the fact that he had caused you harm. You had to step in a few times to help him, and after the fight you rushed to embrace him.
"Kaku, what happened was not your fault. You couldn't have known that pirate was going to duck. And you couldn't have known I was going to be standing there when he did. So stop blaming yourself because I don't blame you."
He frowned, but as you carried on speaking he slowly relaxed, calmed down, and realised he had, in fact, overreacted.
"I just don't like hurting you, even by accident," he buried his face in your hair.
"I know, but it will happen. Never intentionally, but it will happen. " You kissed his cheek. "Now come on, let's go clean up."
SANJI
He started crying before you did. Literally dropped to his knees and sobbed into his hands, crying a river because he had struck you.
By accident, when a pot slipped from his grasp as he was turning to greet you and smacked you square in the face - splitting your lip. He was devastated at the first sign of blood.
"My love, please forgive me!" He wailed, wrapping his arms around your torso and crying into your stomach.
"What exactly am I forgiving?" You sounded dazed, but otherwise okay. You didn't even realise your lip was bleeding, because you'd had far worse injuries.
"I hit you!" He exclaimed, then recoiled like he was the one who'd been struck.
"By accident," you laughed, pulling him back and running your hand through his hair. "You didn't mean it."
"Chopper!!!" He cried, completely ignoring your reassurance in his panic and self-loathing. He picked you up and ran to the reindeer, plopping you down in front of Chopper.
"What happened?" Chopper asked, before "treating" your bleeding lip.
"I smacked (Name) in the face with a pot!" His eyes welled up again.
"By accident," you added, before Sanji inadvertently made everyone think he was abusing you.
But even when Chopper was done with your very tiny, very insignificant injury, which had taken all of five seconds, the cook grabbed Chopper and shook him frantically.
"Are you sure she's okay??" He demanded. "It isn't going to bleed again?"
"Sanji!" You grabbed the poor reindeer from him, "I'm fine!"
"I'm just making sure, my love," he pouted. "It was a very serious injury after all! I gave it to you!"
"It wasn't-" You sighed, giving up. "Okay, okay, it was. But I'm fine now, see?" You smiled wide. "All good. You can relax, I'm feeling much better and I forgive you."
He looked satisfied with that, and you had to refrain from sighing exaggeratedly.
LUFFY
Sometimes Luffy forgot his own strength. And most of the time, it was you who usually reminded him - in the most painful ways possible.
Take today, for example.
You were busy minding your own business, happily reading a book out in the sun. Maybe your mistake had been wondering where Luffy was and what he was up to, because moments after that disaster struck.
Quite literally.
He was practicing slingshotting himself across the ship, but calculated wrong - big surprise - and ended up shooting you and himself through three solid floors of wood on the ship.
"Luffy!" You groaned and tried to sit up, falling back down when your muscles screamed and your head spun. You didn't even register the exactly blood dripping from your nose.
"Oh, (Name)!" Your doofus boyfriend just grinned at you. "Hi!" Then he noticed the blood, and his eyes widened, "You're hurt!"
"You don't say," you grumbled sarcastically, trying to get up again only to fall face-first onto the floor again.
"Sorry!" He shot to his feet. "But Chopper will fix you!" And just like that, he grabbed you and - you guessed it - slingshot you both out from below deck.
By the time Chopper saw you, you had multiple bruises and a gushing nose.
"What exactly happened?" Chopper scratched his head, rightfully confused. "We've been on the ship the entire day!"
"Ask your captain," you shot your boyfriend a glare, before letting the crew's tiny doctor fix you up.
After you returned to reading, you noticed the ship had become unusually quiet and uneventful. Curious, and a little worried, you went to search for your boyfriend.
Finding him in the kitchen with Sanji, learning how to make your favourite dish - though the cook already looked exasperated. You smiled to yourself and went back to your book. Food was always Luffy's apology, but the gesture was sweet.
USOPP
The irony in this is that Usopp tries so hard to be careful with his explosives, but somehow when making them one almost always explodes - usually in your face or his.
Today was no different.
"(Name)! Come look!" Your boyfriend called, sounding pleased with himself. "I found a new explosive to add!"
That in itself should have told you to stay away, but you were curious. And curiosity always kills the cat. Unless the cat is Luffy, and just bounces back.
You indulged your boyfriend, and paid for it.
Because within seconds of your arrival, the explosive did what it was meant to do - too well. You were both blasted backwards, ad you hit your head on a nearby tree.
Oh, yes, you were also on a new island and didn't know a thing about it or any of the things on it. Hence the explosion.
"Now that...is a good explosive," you mumbled in a daze as you sat up, completely oblivious to the blood trickling from your forehead.
But Usopp noticed, and promptly fainted. Whether from the sight of the blood, or the fact that he had been the cause of your hurt, no one could tell.
When he woke up, you were fine and looking down at him worriedly, but he sat up and engulfed you in a hug that almost broke your bones.
"Woah, what's this for?" You laughed, but returned his embrace.
"I didn't know it would explode like that!" He answered, then started rambling about how if he had known, he would have kept you on the far side of the island.
You laughed, "Usopp, it's okay. I kind of took that risk dating you."
But he wasn't listening, already coming up with a fake story to tell the others when they inevitably asked why you looked so beaten up - even though you didn't, he was just paranoid.
"Nami's going to see right through it!" He wailed, "And then Luffy is going to kick me off the crew for abusing you-"
"Usopp!" You stopped him, laughing harder. "I'm fine. You're fine. No one is kicking anyone off the crew, and certainly no one thinks you abuse me."
He looked up at you, "Okay, but the story is still that we fought off a pack of fire-spitting..."

ZORO
You trust him. He'd never given you a reason not to. It was other women you didn't trust, because you'd seen firsthand how handsy and daring they could get despite being told no.
Like now, you were sitting in a local tavern with Nami and Robin, eyes trained on the group of women eyeing your boyfriend like he was a piece of meat. They hadn't moved yet, but you had no doubt that they were going to. Your oblivious swordsman was already halfway drunk, and wouldn't be able to hold back so many on his own.
One of them finally got up, brave enough to approach him. She flashed him a smile, he told her that he's with you, and she said she just wanted to talk.
She did not just want to talk.
You were up and storming over at the first touch, the moment her fingers grazed the skin of his arm was also the moment you caught her wrist and yanked her away.
Your smile was sickeningly sweet, a subtle threat seeping into your words, "Now, is that any way to treat a happily taken man? He said he was with me, so are you deaf or just that stupid?"
The woman's eyes widened and she quickly scuttled off back to her group, warning them in hushed whispers about you, the handsome swordsman's girlfriend. You smiled smugly, only to have that wiped off when Zoro started laughing.
"And what do you find so funny?" You crossed your arms.
"I've never seen you jealous before," he smirked, downing yet another bottle of sake. Refusing to let up.
"I wasn't jealous!" You huffed. "She was crossing a boundary!"
"Mhm," he grinned devilishly, wrapping one arm loosely around your waist, "You're the only woman that can handle my stupidity and my attitude, I'm not messing that up."
"Say that again," you grinned. "The stupidity and attitude part."
He rolled his eyes, but pulled you to his side and practically hung off you the rest of the night.
ACE
It was an undeniable and unavoidable fact that your boyfriend drew unwanted attention from women everywhere you went. Besides the fact that he was outrageously attractive, he also walked around shirtless, proudly displaying his toned chest.
It was never an issue for you, unless any one of those women made it an issue. And more often than not, they did.
You thought you could relax in a tavern after a rough fight, but it seemed that your boyfriend's charm and good looks had other plans for you. You did nothing at first, sitting back and watching the women flock to him, only planning to intervene when they make an attempt to touch him.
One of them always did.
Your eyes narrowed when a particular brave woman reached out and brushed her fingers over his abs. You slammed your drink down with more force than necessary, chair scraping against the ground loudly as you got to your feet.
"Is there any specific reason you're touching what doesn't belong to you?" You asked the woman as you approached, hand resting on your gun. Not an ounce of your usual cheerfulness in your tone.
She frowned at you, "He didn't say-"
You stepped forward, grabbing her arm that was still raised to touch Ace, "You don't get to touch anyone without their consent, regardless." Then you shoved her back like that, putting yourself between your stunned boyfriend and the slightly afraid group of women. "Would anyone else like to test my patience tonight?"
They all ran off.
Ace grinned and wrapped his arms around you from behind, "I didn't know you had a possessive streak. It's hot."
"I wasn't jealous!" You protested.
"I never said that," he laughed, "But okay, you were definitely jealous."
You swatted his arm.
LAW
You tend not to get jealous since Law is generally very avoidant of situations that would make either one of you uncomfortable. He doesn't tolerate unwanted advances, and acts as if the person is not even there.
That doesn't mean it doesn't happen, though.
You were sitting in a bar at an island stop that the crew asked for, and you watched as one or two daring women approached your stoic boyfriend. Partially amused, partially concerned for their sakes.
He didn't give them the time of day. Just sat next to you, looking at his drink like it was suddenly the most interesting thing in the world. When they spoke, asking for his attention, he looked up. Surprised that women would even approach him with his reputation.
You let them venture a little more. Crossed your arms, leaned back, eyes focused on their desperate, and frankly pathetic, attempts at flirtatious smiles.
And then you stepped in.
Leaning forward, you looked them dead in the eye when you spoke, "Interested in the Surgeon of Death, are you?" You offered a very fake, sickly sweet smile. "Well, I'm not above getting my hands dirty too."
Their eyes widened at your implication, and they sheepishly excused themselves and hurried back to their table. You leaned back in your chair like nothing happened, unaware of Law raising his eyebrow beside you.
"Ignoring them works fine," he tried to hide the amusement in his voice, but you knew him too well.
You huffed, "I wasn't jealous!"
"I never said that you were," his lips curled into a smug smirk. "But that's good to know."
"I wasn't!"
"Mhm. Possessiveness looks good on you."
You short-circuited.
KAKU
You'd already had a bad day at work. Throw in some random woman who had nothing better to do than gawk at and make inappropriate comments about your boyfriend, and you were ready to explode.
You usually didn't get jealous of Kaku's admirers - that was always going to be a problem, so you just got used to it. But it becomes intolerable when those women start gushing and swooning like teenagers. Practically drooling over him.
You were bringing him dinner, since it was too late to have lunch. You walked past all the blushing women with your jaw clenched, waiting for one of them to push you over the edge.
And one of them did.
She saw Kaku walking this way - because he'd seen you and was coming to you - and got excited. Pushing you out of the way, she called for him eagerly and didn't notice the bag of food tumbling out of your hands.
You snapped and pulled her hair, "Don't you think it's a bit rude to shove people? Especially when they are carrying food!" You gestured to your fallen dinner. "Do you plan to buy me and my boyfriend more?" You emphasised 'my boyfriend' just as Kaku reached you, to get your point across.
She hastily apologised, whimpering at the grip you had on her hair. You let her go irritably, only to be engulfed in a warm hug a second later.
"Bad day, hmm?" Kaku murmured.
"Yeah," you sighed.
"It's cute when you get temperamental like that," he grinned.
You gave him a look.
"Okay, uh, let's talk about your bad day then!"
SANJI
You were getting jealous every other day. It was a common feeling considering the man you were with had a tendency to smile flirtatiously and wink at every walking thing in a dress.
But today you weren't having it.
It was mid-fight, in Enies Lobby, and Sanji was non-stop flirting with that stupid CP9 agent, Khalifa. Granted, she was pretty, but she also irritated you and you had no idea why. So now watching him tell her she's pretty and that he can't hit her just made your frustration boil over.
And you snapped.
You stormed over to them and grabbed a broken piece of wood off the floor, ramming it hard into the woman and sending her flying away from your boyfriend.
"Get up," you face-palmed, then turned to Khalifa. "And you..."
You didn't say much. You just physically reminded everyone else of why Luffy had recruited you, and why even Zoro was wary and nervous around you sometimes.
"Stupid, ugly, dumb blonde!" You were yelling when Sanji was rising to his feet, only to see you repeatedly whacking her with your plank like it was a hammer.
Sanji's eyes widened and he rushed over to pull you away before you got angrier, uncertain of whether he was terrified or turned on. Probably both.
"You!" You whirled on him, sticking a finger in his face.
He eventually calmed you down with a tight hug and sweet words whispered in French into your ear, gently swaying with you.
"My love, you are truly a sight to behold when you are-"
"Don't say it. Because I wasn't."
"But-"
"Sanji."
"Fine," he pouted. "But you were truly magnificent."
You grumbled something under your breath about how he was a flatterer, but accepted his hug and his compliment and the gentle kiss to the top of your head.
LUFFY
It wasn't even Boa this time. You were docked at an island to restock supplies and everyone was given the day to explore and relax before you hit the water again. You and Luffy bounced around from restaurant to restaurant, tavern to tavern. Anywhere there was food, you and Luffy were in there.
You just didn't expect the lady who served your food to be so into your boyfriend, because generally girls tended to want to smack him upside the head.
But here you were, watching her smile flirtatiously at him, watching her speak in a sweet voice, watching her compliment his straw hat. All with your jaw clenched.
And then she brought Luffy extra food, while your portion seemed a bit...small. And that's when you snapped, slamming your hand down onto the table and earning both of their attention.
"Do you not see me?" You glared at her. "Am I invisible? No, then stop flirting with my boyfriend amd bring normal portions of food!"
Luffy's eyes widened and the server backed up, apologising profusely before running off and asking someone else to help you guys. You turned back to your food, angrily picking at it.
"What was that?" Luffy blinked.
"She can't flirt with my boyfriend," you grumbled.
"Oh!" Luffy's eyes lit up. "You were jealous!" Then he laughed obnxiously loudly. "(Name), you don't have to be jealous! You know I only want you."
"I know," your cheeks warmed, "But she was annoying."
He grinned and put you on his lap, right there and then, and you shared your meal like that.
USOPP
It was one of the most peaceful days the Straw Hat crew had so far. You got to relax on a beach, after restocking your supplies in the village of this island. You took this opportunity to sunbathe as the boys played in the water, Nami and Robin next to you.
Then Usopp came up to you, shirtless with just swimming trunks on. He was coming for the beach ball, but he fumbled with it and let it bounce away before he chased after it.
Only for a pretty girl to stop it. You and Nami shot up, pushing your hats up to watch the scene that unfolded before you. You weren't worried though, no one ever flirted with-
"Hi," she smiled at him, definitely flirtatiously, "You're cute."
You scrambled to your feet, already making your way over before Nami and Robin could stop you. When you got there, she was touching his arm lightly and flirtatiously, trying to be subtle but you saw right through it.
"Hey, back off," you stepped between them, shoving her away a bit aggressively. "Touching my boyfriend like that right in front of me is extremely disrespectful, or were you raised in a backward family?"
Her eyes widened as she stumbled back, stuttering out an apology before turning and running off, away from the beach. You turned and went bacl to your spot, like nothing happened.
Usopp stared at you, "Is it okay if I thought that was really hot?"

ZORO
You woke up with murder on your mind.
And promptly shoved the swordsman off the hammock, harder than necessary. He hit the floor with a loud thud, a groan, and several curse words you couldn't repeat out loud.
"What the hell, woman?" He grumbled, rising to his feet.
You scoffed, "Oh, so I'm 'woman' now?" You got up yourself, storming out of the room, slamming the door so hard that even Zoro winced.
The rest of the crew watched in terror as you angrily moved around the kitchen, making yourself breakfast. Even Sanji was hesitant to stop you, the look on your face downright murderous.
Zoro entered the room then, looking confused and annoyed. He was rolling his shoulders, grumbling something under his breath.
"Oh I'm sorry," you snarled. "Do you have something to say?"
"What is your problem?" He glared at you.
You chucked a pot lid at him, with startling accuracy, "My problem? You're the one with the problem!"
"I didn't do anything!" He narrowly avoided getting hit by the lid.
"Liar! You cheated on me!" You threw another pot lid.
Meanwhile, the others looked on with a mixture of shock, fear and confusion etched onto their faces. They had no idea what was going on, Zoro had no idea what was going on, and you had no idea where he had found the woman to cheat with, if you'd been on a ship the whole...oh...
"Wait a second..."
"Yes?" Zoro crossed his arms, waiting for you to realise.
"It was a dream..."
The swordsman's eye twitched, "You tried to kill me twice this morning...over a dream?!"
"In my defense, it felt real!" You laughed nervously.
Everyone expected the swordsman to say something irritably, perhaps actually smack you upside the head, but instead he walked over to you and engulfed you in his strong arms.
"That is one dream that will never come true."
ACE
Ace let out an undignified screech when he finally opened his eyes this morning, to see you hovering over him with a murderous gleam in your pretty eyes.
"Baby," he laughed nervously, "What are you doing?"
You proceeded to dump ice cold water on the commander, then got up and flung the bucket across the room. Ace screeched again, then winced at the sound of the bucket hitting the floor. He watched you walk out of the room, his jaw dropping, eyes wide.
When he finally got up and followed you out, he noticed other crewmembers clearing a path for you, each one stepping out of your way as if they didn't want to mess with your warpath.
"Ace, what did you do?" One of them asked, half amused, half afraid.
"I...don't know," the commander scratched his head, confused, trying his best to remember what he had done to piss you off so badly.
Breakfast was a little awkward. You sat beside Ace, but you didn't say a word to him. And you didn't even look at him - you didn't even breathe in his general direction.
And you were uncharacteristically quiet.
"Babe?" He tried his luck, tapping on your shoulder very, very lightly.
"What?" You snapped, turning to him so sharply that he was surprised you didn't get whiplash.
"Did I...do something?" His voice came out a little high in pitch when he caught a glimpse of the look in your eyes.
"No, no," you feigned a smile, causing him to relax, and then you slammed a knife into the wooden table so hard that everyone flinched. "You only cheated on me with a barmaid!"
"I...what?!" He cried. "When did that happen?! I wasn't-I didn't-"
You slammed the knife down between his fingers, "Don't lie!"
"I'm not!" He was panicking now, sweat dripping down his forehead, "Baby, sweetheart, my love...I was with you last night. I passed out during dinner, and then we went back to our room, remember? PLEASE don't kill me!"
Then it all came flooding back, and you dropped your knife, "Oh...right." You laughed nervously. "Must have been a dream, then."
Ace blinked once, twice, then whined, "Are you kidding? I almost lost my life because of a dream?!"
"Sorry, babe."
"You owe me LOTS of cuddles for this!"
"Yeah, yeah..."
LAW
Law hadn't seen you all morning. Usually he woke up to you next to him, ready to greet him with a warm smile and a sweet kiss. And a hot cup of coffee.
But when he opened his eyes, you weren't next to him, your side of the bed was neatly tucked back in, and his coffee was cold - ice cold.
Then it seemed like you were hiding from him, because everywhere he looked you weren't there. He'd catch a glimpse of you before you were gone, vanishing into thin air. Now, without your kiss and without you, he was a little grumpier than usual. Worsened by the fact that he had no idea what he had done to merit this behaviour.
Around him, the crew snickered and spoke in hushed whispers. He ignored them, as usual, still searching for you. When he finally found you, you shot him a scathing look before attempting to make another exit.
"No," he simply said, stopping you in your tracks.
"No?" You turned to him, your eyes narrowed.
"What happened?" He demanded, moving closer. His eyes searched yours intensely, studying you meticulously. "What did I do to earn your scorn, (Name)-ya?"
"You're a smart man, Law," you sneered, "Figure it out."
His eyes narrowed, "What-"
"Actually, where is she hiding?" You cut him off. "I just want to have a little word with her." You sounded dangerously unhinged, your eyes dark. "Did you 'room, shambles' her off the ship??"
"Who?" He asked, genuinely confused.
"That woman you cheated on me with!" Out loud, it sounded so ridiculous, that you faltered. "Oh, hold on..."
Law leaned against the wall, crossing his arms, "You're a smart woman, (Name)-ya. Figure it out."
You glared at him, "That dream felt real, okay!"
Law just sighed, before walking over to you. Before you could ask what he was doing, he had pinched your arm before pulling you into his arms. You yelped, knowing you deserved that, then relaxed in his embrace.
Him holding you was comfort enough.
KAKU
Kaku expected to be greeted with a sweet kiss, a warm smile, and a hot dinner - the usual. Since you were on assignment in Water 7, you played the dutiful housewife, but even so, you usually greeted him cheerfully.
Today he was greeted by a glare, cold food and a slammed bedroom door.
Now he was confused. Had he done something to earn such a cold shoulder? Had he said something? Couldn't be possible, because he hadn't seen you all day and you were fine this morning. Happy, even.
He gently knocked on the door, "(Name), can I come in?"
"No," was the response.
He sighed, but stood patiently outside the door. A few moments later, it was ripped open and there you stood, in all your furious glory.
"What do you want?"
"To kiss you?" He asked, his frown almost sad enough to make you less angry. Almost.
"Really? Me?" You crossed. "Or your other girlfriend?"
His eyes widened, his mind working to figure out what he had done to merit such a wild accusation that was definitely not true.
"My...other girlfriend?"
"Yes!"
He just blinked a few times, before casually lifting his hand to check your temperature. Perhaps you were delirious. You swatted his hand away, glaring at him.
"Oh now you're calling me crazy!"
He didn't know whether to run or hug you, because now he was sweating.
"No! Honey, did you get any sleep?"
"Yes! I just woke up from a nap where I..." Your eyes widened. "Oh."
Kaku sighed, but was ultimately relieved that you weren't angry anymore and decided on giving you that hug, whispering sweet words that washed all your doubt away.
SANJI
You were mad at him on a regular basis. His annoying habit of flirting with passing women just would not stop, leaving you annoyed or fuming depending on how pretty you thought she had been.
But today was different.
The ship was on open water, and you hadn't stopped at an island in days. Yet you had woken up with a scowl on your face, pushed him off the bed, and went to make breakfast yourself. You also refused his offer to make it for you, and tossed overboard any drink or snack he made for you.
"Did I...do something, my love?" He asked you after lunch - after you had made your own lunch, actually.
"No," you said calmly, offering him a strained smile.
He sighed in relief and smiled back, only for you to shove past him with a passive-aggressive remark.
"I mean, if cheating on me doesn't count as doing something wrong."
His eyes shot up wide, "I did what?!"
He started panicking, trying to recollect whatever he had done the last few days - no matter how big or small. The fact that you had all been stuck on the ship slipped his mind in his frenzy.
"I really hate to be Sanji's defender here," Nami started, "But we've been on the ship for days. How could he have done that?"
"Well, in my dream-" Your eyes went wide as you realised... "Oh..."
"A...a dream, my love?" He repeated, his smile strained. "I cheated on you...in your dream?"
"Yes...But it's your fault!" You protested. "You and your-your stupid flirting!"
He immediately dropped to his knees, hands clasped together, "You're right, of course you're right! Please forgive me, sweetheart, I promise I'll never do it again! I'll even kick my dream-self for you!"
"Maybe kick your real self while you're at it too," you grumbled, but forgave him when your words brought tears to his eyes, "Okay, I'm sorry, come here."
In the end, you ended up having to hold him and comfort him for a while before he stopped begging you to believe it would never happen - because you already believed that.
LUFFY
"Hey (Name), have you seen Luffy?"
"Oh, that guy," you grumbled, rolling your eyes.
"I-I'm sorry?" Poor Usopp had no idea what he had just stumbled into.
"Yeah, what a jerk, right?" You scoffed, scrubbing the kitchen counter a little too aggressively. "You think you know a guy."
Usopp had absolutely no idea why you were so mad at your boyfriend, but he was already afraid. Because why were you glaring at the counter like it had offended you and why was there a murderous gleam in your eyes??
Truth be told, you had woken up pissed. Oh, yes. That stupid Warlord Boa and her stupid feasts for your stupid boyfriend. You had seen it coming, but the betrayal still infuriated you beyond anything else he could ever do.
"Um...okay..." The sharpshooter wisely decided to take his leave.
When the crew next saw Luffy, you had pulled his rubber arm so hard that it snapped back and hit him in his own face, causing him to yelp and slam back into the wall. Even he was a victim to his own might, it seemed.
"OW! (Name), what was that for?" Your captain whined, hopping back onto his feet, unhurt but confused.
"You know what you did, Luffy!" You snapped, then paused, realising who you were talking to. "Okay, you don't, but it was a really bad thing! How dare you cheat on me with Boa Hancock?! I thought you were better than that!"
Luffy blinked once, twice, then grew even more confused, "When did I do that? Cheating is bad, (Name)."
"Yes, I know!" You face-palmed. "But last night, she threw you a big meal and you kissed her and then the ship was attacked by penguins-wait..."
"We were attacked by penguins?!" Luffy cried. "Why don't I remember this?"
You laughed nervously, "Okay, maybe you didn't cheat. It must have been a dream."
"You dreamed of me cheating on you?" The captain frowned. "Why?"
"I don't know, it just happened-"
Suddenly you were engulfed in his arms, wrapped so tightly in them that escape - and breathing - was impossible. You wheezed, but he didn't seem to notice as he nuzzled against you like a cat.
"You're the only one I want, (Name), I promise."
USOPP
When you stormed into the kitchen one morning, eyes blazing, looking like you were on a warpath...Usopp's immediate instinct was to dive under the dining table.
"Where is she?!" You growled, fists clenched at your sides.
"Who? Nami?" Luffy asked. "She's up-"
"No!" Your eyes travelled over each of your crewmates' faces before finally landing on a pair of quivering hands that jutted out from under the table. "Usopp. Where. Is. She?"
"Who?" He wailed, poking just his head out, "I don't know what you're talking about!"
"Yes you do! You snuck her onto the ship!"
"I did not!" He looked confused. "Wait, what?? Who did I sneak onto the ship?? And why do I not remember this?!"
"Idiot," you scowled, "You think I wouldn't notice you bringing your first love on board?"
"Kaya?!" Usopp choked on his own saliva, stunned by your accusation.
"Oh so you did bring her on board?!"
"I-what-no!" He protested. "She's still in the East Blue!"
"And how do you know that?!" You hissed, "Are you keeping tabs on her???" The look on your face could only be described as deranged.
"How-"
"But then how do you explain-" You suddenly stopped as everything came back to you at that moment. Your dream, and logic. "Oh...right..."
Usopp seemed to relax, "Yes, I would never-"
"It was a dream!" You laughed, relieved, sitting down at the table like you hadn't just been about to be the reason for the Sunny's destruction. "Sorry." You kissed his cheek.
Hey. I just wanted to know if you ever wrote arguments fics. Like those filled with tension and stuff? Then make up after it. I have being reading many of your works and they are really really really creative and feel so good to read. Especially Ace!! God he is the cutest thing ever. I swear
thank you! :D and yes, i have written something like that, it was the one called 'they make you cry' which is here. it's not super angsty, i very rarely write heartbreaking stuff because i'm not very fond of angst, but i do sometimes.
Hii.... i am the one one who requested that study motivation fic.
First of all, thank you, thank you, thank youuuu sooooo muchhhh!!!!!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ really... thank you so much!!
and Second of all, it is one of the best... so fluffy and comforting... π
I was overwhelmed by some trigonometry lessons and you have no idea how much i giggled while reading this. Now i can go back to studying with a fresh mind. Thank you so much darling.
hi! i am so so happy to hear that it made you feel better! you are very welcome, it was a pleasure to write <3 good luck with your studies!
hey.... i am really sorry to ask this... i saw that you said your requests are closed. But please just listen to me okay? I failed my high school final national exam 2 times and in six and a half month i have to reface the exam. It is like a university entrance exam. I am already 21 and I feel like a failure and... i just... i really need comfort. But of course i understand you are busy too. And there is no hard feeling if you can't write this. It is totally understandable. If possible can you white some study motivation story of ace x reader? (I study math, physics and chemistry btw, i wanna get a architect degree) thank you so much dear.
hello! please don't apologise, i can't say i relate exactly to your situation but i have definitely had moments where i needed this comfort as well! so don't worry, i was more than happy to write this for you <3 the greatest compliment i can get is that someone finds comfort in my works :) i just hope you enjoy it!
also those subjects are intense, and an architect degree? that's impressive! i just hope you're okay with how i modified the ask to better suit the setting

Portgas D Ace x F!Reader
summary - you're studying to become a potioneer, the crew's finest. Ace does his best to motivate and take care of you.
warnings - it might be short, I'm sorry...I'm not really good with these kinds of requests...
Ace poked his head inside your bedroom for what felt like the eighth time today.
Lo and behold, there you sat.
Hunched over a book at your desk, eyes fixated on words that were becoming blurrier by the second - until you shook your head refocused your eyes. Your mind soaked up the information like a sponge, though it felt like some invisible force was squeezing it all back out.
Tears began to brim in your eyes, and you hastily wiped them away. What was wrong with you? Why weren't you getting this?
A pair of muscular arms suddenly lifted you from your chair, your sadness fading and being replaced by amusement as you giggled at the low whine emitting from your boyfriend.
"What's wrong?"
"You've been cooped up here all day," he groaned, burying his face in your neck once he set you down again. "Come outside and breathe."
"I can't," you sighed, "I need to study."
"But you're struggling," he pointed out. "A little breather should help. Come on, what do you say? I'll even help you study afterwards." He pulled away to offer you the biggest grin you'd ever seen.
You couldn't help but smile back, "Fine."
When he said a little breather, he meant a long walk along the beach - you'd been so busy studying you hadn't noticed the ship stopping at an island - some lunch/dinner (it was late afternoon), and a nap. Yes, a nap.
When you finally woke up, it was almost midnight. Your eyes widened and you scrambled up to get to your books, only to be yanked back down by Ace.
"Sleep."
When you woke up the next morning, you were back at your desk. Your sweet boyfriend took the liberty of bringing you breakfast.
"I asked Thatch to make you something to stim-sim-" He struggled to pronounce the word.
"Stimulate?" You giggled.
"Yes, that!" He grinned and set your food and drink down. "It will help with doing that to your brain. Apparently. I just told him you were studying and needed to focus."
Your heart swelled with affection, and you kissed his cheek, "Thanks, Ace. Sit with me?"
"Of course."
He did indeed sit with you, but within minutes of silence he was fidgeting with his shorts and tapping his foot and you could practically feel his impatience. He really could not sit still for longer than five seconds.
"Let's play a game," he suggested.
"Ace, I'm studying!"
"I know, I know!" He held his hands up. "I mean, we can include that in the game. You know, like, I can say the name of an ingredient and you can tell me which potions or explosives they go into."
Your eyes widened, "That's actually a good idea."
The fiery commander started rattling off a list of ingredients, most of which he could actually not pronounce. You laughed as you named the explosive or the potion it went into - which proved to be easier than you thought it would be, even with his mispronounciations.
Later on, you guided him into practical work. He helped fetch you the ingredients for the potions you had chosen to concoct, watching in awe as the liquid sizzled and bubbled inside the pot. He stuck his head a little too close, screaming unceremoniously as a particularly large bubble popped an inch from his face.
You had been scanning the recipe page for the next step, but your head snapped up and your eyes met a traumatised Ace. You let out a bubbly laugh, eyes shining with mirth.
"You are ridiculous."
"Ridiculous? Excuse me? That pot just tried to kill me!"
You laughed even more, guiding him closer again and continuing to demonstrate your knowledge. It was so much easier to show it and explain to someone else than to repeat it over and over in your head. Now you felt like you really understood the differences between the explosives and the various potions you had learned to make and their varying natures.
Ace was patient with you too, a stark contrast to his attitude with anyone else, or with you in any other situation. He knew how important this was to you and he wanted to support you in any way he could.
Every afternoon, he would ensure you took a break. Even if it was just a walk around the ship before or after lunch, he firmly believed that any for of exercise could stimulate your brain and make it easier for you to focus - in reality, Marco had told him this.
In the evenings, he curled up to you on your bed and fell asleep on your shoulder while you continued reading through your various textbooks.
However, you did notice that at a certain point during the night you would "accidentally" fall backwards on top of him and the book would "accidentally" slip from your hand. Then you had no choice but to sleep, because your strong boyfriend refused to let go of you.
With Ace's help, you found the perfect study-relax balance.
"I love you," you mumbled into his ear one night as he slept, thinking he couldn't hear you. "You have no idea how much your help means to me...even if you don't fully understand it." You chuckled and kissed his cheek.

ZORO
Zoro is not one to use these words lightly. He has a very hard time saying them, especially because it's a relatively new feeling to him. So whenever he does say it, it's always in a private, meaningful little moment shared only between the two of you.
Though sometimes, he gets frustrated when you put yourself in unnecessary danger in a difficult encounter, and in a rare show of vulnerability and affection, he might tell you he loves you in front of the crew.
"You're lucky I love you," he'll murmur in your ear, though the rest of the crew pretty much already knows what he said.
Today you were in a particularly playful mood, despite the events that had just transpired. You pulled back and smiled up at him, kissing his cheek before turning and walking away.
Dead silence.
"(Name)," Zoro called, his voice a low growl. He followed you, reaching out and grabbing your forearm to stop you.
"Yes?" You turned to face him, smiling innocently.
"Don't play dumb with me," he grumbled, "You didn't say it back."
"I didn't say what back?" You asked, feigning confusion.
"(Name)."
His gaze was intense, something flashing in his eyes that you'd never seen before - fear or panic, you couldn't decide which. To everyone else, he looked fine, but you could see his nervousness.
You promptly started laughing, your eyes filled with affection and a softness reserved just for him, "I was just kidding. I love you too, Zoro." You tried to kiss him, only to meet the palm of his hand.
"For that, you don't get kisses," he turns your usual punishment for him on you, leaving you gaping after him as he walks away, smirking.
"WHAT?"
ACE
Ace tells you he loves you about five hundred times a day. He never used to, in fact he was hesitant to in the early days of your relationship, but now two years in he cannot go five minutes without making sure you know he loves you.
You were a little late to dinner that evening, and when you got there most of the tables were full. You found your raven-haired boyfriend easily, not by his hat or his shirtless figure, but by the sound of his laughter.
You took your seat beside him, feeling his lips on your cheek not even five seconds later. You smiled at him and started eating, offering him a portion of your food after he guzzled down his own.
"Thanks, sweetheart," he grinned, "I love you."
Trying your best to hold back laughter, you just smiled at him and leaned against the table, your head propped up by your arm.
Every muscle of his seemed to tense, his entire body going completely rigid. Like still-as-a-statue rigid. Then he slowly, very slowly, swallowed his food and turned to look at you.
You weren't angry. You weren't sad. So surely he couldn't have done anything wrong? He started pouting, looking like you'd just kicked him.
"What's wrong, Ace?" You asked, worried, still trying not to laugh.
He let out a strange sound, something between a choked sob and a gasp, his shoulders slumping, "You hate me."
"I do not hate you!" You protested.
"Yes, you do!" He cried dramatically, holding a hand over his heart. "This is the worst day ever. My nightmare has finally come true. You don't love me anymore!"
Finally, you couldn't hold it back any longer and you burst out laughing, finding his hand and lacing your fingers with his, "Ace, I was kidding. I love you too, you big baby."
"Baby?!" He gasps, his pout only growing, though he looked relieved. "Now you've done it!"
He lurched forward and your eyes widened as you realised what he was about to do, but by then it was too late. His hands were on you, fingers tickling your sides and everywhere he knew you were sensitive. Your laughter filled the air, but he didn't stop, even as you tried to wriggle away.
"Aceeeee!" You wheezed. "Stop!"
"Nope," he grinned, "This is what you get for almost stopping my heart." And he continued to tickle you, until your stomach was sore.
LAW
Law only says those words in private. He prefers to keep the more intimate parts of your relationship just between yourselves, because the crew absolutely does not need to know how soft he has gotten for you.
But some days he lets it slip when someone else is around, usually after a difficult encounter with another crew or a mission or just exploring an island. He'd missed you being close to him, though he would never admit that out loud, and he feels relief when he finally sees you.
"I love you," came the quiet, affectionate murmur in your ear as you met up with him back on the Polar Tang, the rest of the crew still yet to arrive.
You were so exhausted, you just smiled and kisses his cheek, thinking he already knew what your response would be. He stiffened, his eyes scanning your face.
"What?" You asked, frowning at his unreadable expression.
"Nothing."
Then he turned and walked away, externally looking like nothing was wrong but internally mulling over what he had done to you to deserve such a cold response. Or, actually, no response. A few seconds later, you realised your mistake and ran after the brooding captain.
"Law!"
You burst into his room, watching as he glanced up at you once and then looked back down at his work. You sighed, making your way over and stopping behind him, hands hesitantly resting on his shoulders.
"I love you too."
"Hmm, do you now?" He asked, and you, only you, could hear the very subtle insecurity and vulnerability in his voice.
"Yes," you leaned down, planting a kiss on his cheek, letting your lips linger, "I'm sorry. I was just a little tired. I didn't mean to ignore your words."
Law seemed satisfied with this, because he stood up and gently herded you towards his bed, "Sleep."
"Law-"
"I know," his lips tugged up slightly, into a rare smile, before, "Sleep."
You surprised him, a rare occurrence, by grabbing his hand and pulling him into bed beside you. You curled up to him, letting out a content sigh as your body tangled with his, his body warmth seeping through your clothes.
KAKU
Kaku tells you he loves you several times a day, only because he doesn't want you to forget. Sometimes, when he's overly concerned about how much you've spoken to Lucci, or how bravely another guy is staring at you, he pulls you into his arms and murmurs those words into your hair, then after each kiss he plants on your forehead, cheeks and lips.
"I love you."
Once again, you found yourself in the embrace of the tall, long-nosed swordsman. He was inhaling the scent of your shampoo, a scent he had complimented on various occasions. You were feeling particularly mischievous today, so you didn't respond.
His reaction was instantaneous.
His arms tightened around you, his words becoming more frantic, "(Name), I love you. I love you. I love you so so much." He pressed even more kisses to your face.
Again, no response.
He pulled away, frowning as he looked down at you, "Did I do something wrong?"
You smiled up at him, "Nope! Why?"
He sighed dramatically, "Well, it looks like the time has finally come for me to wedge my swords into my own heart."
"Exactly-WHAT?!" You cried, your eyes wide.
"My girlfriend doesn't love me anymore," he feigned sadness, his eyes growing big and round, "I can't handle life without her. it's meaningless."
"Um, hello???" You panicked, "What are you talking about??"
"You were my first and only love, (Name)," he smiled sadly, "And I wish you all the best."
"Kaku, stop!" You panicked, practically smacking the sword out of his hand. Then he burst out laughing, and your eyes narrowed. "Why are you laughing?"
"You should have seen your face!" He grinned, his eyes gleaming mischievously.
"Hey! That was not funny!" You crossed your arms.
"You started it," he leaned in, his arms slowly wrapping around your waist. "Shall we try that again? I love you."
"I love you too."
"Much better."
LUFFY
He doesn't even notice.
Luffy gets so caught up in other things sometimes that he forgets to tell you he loves you, and he forgets to have special, one-on-one time with you alone. You never minded it, though, you had long accepted Luffy for who he was.
So pranking him usually doesn't work.
You usually show him that you love him by bringing him food and taking care of him throughout the day, so today you decided to just not care - to see how he reacts.
That he noticed.
When it became apparent during the afternoon that you were not coming to find him with a snack you had especially prepared for him, he started to worry.
"Where's (Name)?" He asked the first Straw Hat he saw.
"Oh, I think she's sleeping," Usopp told him. "She's in her room."
Luffy was off before Usopp even finished his sentence. You were usually up and about, so staying in your room was something odd for you to do. When the captain burst into your room, you started laughing as you looked up at him.
"(Name)!" He broke out into a wide grin, laughing even though he wasn't sure what the joke was.
"Honestly, Luffy, I'm offended," you teased him more, "You took so lomg to notice I was gone!"
"I'm sorry (Name)," he practically jumped onto your bed with you, "I just thought you were late today."
"Hm." You wanted him to say it first this time, to see if he really noticed.
"I love you!" He grinned, wrapping his arms around you. He thought that might make you feel better.
"Hm."
He frowned, then whined, "(Nameeeeee)!"
You giggled, "I love you too, Luffy."
SANJI
It might have been something akin to a crime to play this prank on this man. You already know beforehand he's going to be dramatic about it, but the crew's just recovered from Enies Lobby and you're pissed off about his reaction to that CP9 agent, Khalifa. So again, you remind yourself that maybe he needs a little scare now and then.
"(Nameeeeee)!" You hear him call for you one sunny afternoon, as everyone is lounging and lazing around in different parts of the ship. The cook appears with your favourite summer drink, beaming as he offers it to you, "Here you go, my love!"
"Thanks Sanji," you smile at him, taking the drink.
"Of course! I love you."
You didn't say it back, taking a sip of the drink, "This might be your best yet, love."
Sanji's face paled - even more so than it already was. He dropped to his knees, the tray clattering against the wooden deck. He looked like he'd just had his heart ripped out of his chest - and knowing him, he probably felt like that.
"Are you breaking up with me?!"
And then the waterworks started, tears streaming down his face as he rocked himself back and forth. He was muttering something about his worst nightmare, and how you're not the real (Name).
You laugh, crouching down beside him, "I love you too, you know that."
He looked at you with glassy eyes, "Then why didn't you say it back?"
You flicked his forehead, "Because I felt like making you panic after your little infatuation with the female assassin."
He instantly froze, tears magically disappearing, then proceeded to jump up like nothing happened and pampered you the rest of the day.
USOPP
You felt incredibly guilty about playing this prank on Usopp, but you were bored - actually the crew was bored, and you and Usopp were the only couple on board. Thus it was essentially Nami's idea to prank him, so it wasn't really your fault....right?
Usopp had no idea what was in for, bringing you into his room to help him decide which of his little explosives to bring with him on the crew's next land venture. You smiled and picked out his most efficient ones, and he offered you a kiss on the cheek in return.
"Thanks (Name), I can always count on you!" He beamed. "I love you."
You just smiled wider, then got up and left. You could swear you heard Usopp's jaw hit the floor, before he ran out after you, panicking.
"(Name)!" He grabbed your arm, turning you back around, laugjing nervously, "You heard what I said, right?"
"Yeah, I did," you confirmed, trying to hold back laughter.
"Then...why didn't you say it back?" He looked like you had just kicked him. "Or was it a mistake?"
You felt bad, and caved, "I'm sorry baby, it was a prank. I love you too."
"A prank?!" He cried, then cleared his throat, "I-I mean, I knew that! I was just playing along, you know."
You laughed, "I'm sure you were."
He was a little extra clingy after that, doing his best to make surw you knew he loved you so you wouldn't actually fall out of love with him. He would never be able to handle the real thing.
summary - you're more affected by his injury than anyone else, but at least this gives you a chance to confess without immediate rejection?
warnings - slight angst, mentions of blood and injury
a/n - as i'm only around 420 episodes into the anime, i'm not sure if anyone has the devil fruit power i'm giving the reader here. if so, i'm sorry
You'd never seen so much blood before.
Especially not gushing out of him like that.
The moment they carried him through that door you froze, your mind going blank. You hadn't been prepared for a situation like this - always believing that he was the strongest person you knew. Still was, just...
Even as they laid him on the counter, everything blurred around you. The rest of the crew's voices became muffled, the world - or more specifically, your world - turning on its side.
"(Name)?"
Your feet finally carried you away from the scene, each step slow, unsteady and more painful than the last.
You couldn't look at him. You wouldn't.
"Sit down, love."
You don't know who guided you to the seat, you barely even registered the voice that spoke. But you were seated moments later, staring blankly into space as your mind raced to catch up with reality.
You didn't know when, but you finally snapped out of your trance and quietly made your way to Nami's room, where they'd left him. Laying there, looking even paler than normal, bandages covering his torso. Laying there lifeless, still as a doll.
Everyone else was gone - left to defend the Baratie from Arlong. You'd been told to stay, or at least that's what you thought Usopp had said. You were too emotional to fight, you'd just get hurt too.
So you sat with him.
The chair next to the bed felt cold as you lowered your tense, stiff body into it. Hands clasped together anxiously on your lap, nervously fidgeting with your fingers, you sat in what felt like an awkward, unbearable silence that stretched on for a while.
Finally, when you couldn't hold it in anymore, you spoke.
"You're so stupid," you whispered, no real bite behind your words.
No response.
You breathed in deeply, exhaling shakily as you closed your eyes for a moment, collecting yourself. Then, when you found your voice again, you continued.
"You idiot." Your hand hovered over his arm, trembling fingers hesitant to touch his skin. Fearing the coldness they might feel. "I...why did you do this to me?" Something wet rolled down your cheek, but this time you didn't stop the flood.
"I wanted you to fulfil your dream," you confessed, your voice barely above a whisper. "But it's hard to support it now that it's almost stolen you from us. From me." Another shaky breath, your bottom lip trembling as you gripped the hem of your shirt like you were about to rip it.
"I don't want...I can't..." You choked on your words, struggling for a moment before speaking again. "You have to wake up, Zoro. You have to. Please, I...I don't want to have to do this without you. I can't." Your voice cracked at the next part, "I can't imagine waking up and not seeing your face, and that stupid green hair, even if you're still sleeping late into the morning. I can't imagine not hearing your stupid voice, even if you're saying something utterly ridiculous or arguing with someone on the crew." Adding 'stupid' wasn't intentional, just your frustration bleeding into your words.
"Please, Zoro," you pleaded quietly, your voice weak and vulnerable.
"I love you."
"Arlong, wait!"
Your head snapped up, your sorrow draining completely as you heard the next few words out of your navigator's mouth.
"I have the map."
You stood immediately, looking at Zoro for a moment. Leaning down, you pressed a soft, gentle kiss to his cheek before exiting, emerging to see Arlong holding your captain by his throat.
Nami telling him to let the sea kill Luffy.
You crouched down, your fingers finding a broken plank on the ground. Your eyes glossed over, pure silver replacing your usual (eye colour). The plank turned into a silver spike, heavy and cold in your hand as you slowly rose to your feet. You didn't even wait for Nami to talk Arlong out of killing Luffy himself, you threw the spike at the fishman's leg and crippled him, catching him by surprise.
After he left with Nami - a shocking betrayal that you just couldn't bring yourself to dwell on right now - you ran to where Sanji was hauling your captain out of the water.
Though lucky for you - and your emotions - Luffy was fine.
When you got back to the Merry, reeling after the events of recent, you collapsed into a chair at the kitchen counter and buried your face in your hands. Everyone left you alone, figuring you needed your space, but offered supportive taps on your shoulder.
Then...
"ZORO!"
Your entire body stiffened, heartbeat beginning to pick up. Was he really..? Did Luffy just..?
But you didn't have the courage to stand up and face him. Your body remained frozen in place, your heart and mind conflicted on what it should do. Your heart told you to run to him, your mind told you the opposite. So you just sat there, heart pounding, fear of what he might say to you - if he even heard you - filling your mind.
"(Name)!" Luffy called. "Zoro's awake!"
But before you could even get up, the swordsman was standing in the doorway. Your eyes locked, and for a moment none of you moved.
Then Zoro closed the distance in three long strides, and within seconds his larger frame loomed over yours. His hands on the table, trapping you between him the counter. Leaving no room for you to escape - he truly knew you well, even after mere weeks of being a crew.
"Say it again."
Your eyes widened, your mouth opening to ask him what he meant.
"I want to know that you meant it."
Instantly you deflated, shoulders sagging as your expression turned downcast, "I meant it, Zoro. Every word."
"So say those last ones again," he urged, desperation just barely evident in his voice. Then, quieter so only you could hear, he added, "Please."
"I love you," you breathed out, immediately responding to his plea.
His eyes flashed with something - vulnerability? affection? - before his hand found its way to your face, and with a gentleness never seen before from him, he cupped your cheek.
"Say it again," he murmured, his deep voice strained with emotion.
"I love you."
He hummed, fingers moving to your chin to delicately tilt your head up so that he could kiss you. His lips were warm against your own, moving urgently and desperately.
"You won't have to do anything without me," he pulled away slowly, hesitantly, not wanting to. "That's my vow to you."
Your eyes welled up, a smile tugging at your lips, "Good. Idiot."
