A discord rant (again) (this time about Princes and Bards)

rrrRAHHHHHH LET ME GO OFF ABOUT BARDS AND PRINCES I CAN TALK ABOUT THEM SO MUCH I AM VERY GOOD AT PULLING PATTERNS OUT OF MY ASS WHEN THERE ARE ONLY TWO CONCRETE POINTS OF EVIDENCE FOR MY CASE AND RUNNING WITH THEM

Bard is a passive class, and is described by Calliope as someone who invites destruction through their Aspect, but from our one point of reference (aka the only Bard we ever see in action, during and after the game, and alive (we see Cronus after the game, but we don't see him in action and by the time we see him, he's dead + his session was technically never finished, since it's scratched)) we can see that what a Bard actually does is serve as the catalyst that invites destruction through their aspect

more than that, during the session, a Bard embodies the aspect opposite of theirs (Rage embodies Hope, Heart embodies Mind, Time embodies Space, Void embodies Light, Life embodies Doom, Blood embodies Breath, and the inverse of all of that), and then AFTER the session they will suddenly flip to embodying their aspect through a series of events predictable in hindsight (such as being deprived of a psychoactive sedative that they have been heavily addicted to since early childhood (hello, my one point of reference), or, say, being slapped in the face by the cold hard hand of reality (a Bard of Blood flipping from embodying Breath)), which destabilizes the entire group, since, if you have a Bard in a non-Void session, you have a Prince of their opposite aspect as well

and Princes are described by Calliope as someone who destroys their aspect or destroys throught their aspect, and are an active class. A Prince, however, from what we see from EVERY Prince in the comic, which is three, can also be described as lacking their Aspect in some definition of it

Eridan, a Prince of Hope, has no hope, and is quite a hopeless case when it comes to. Most things.

Kurloz, a Prince of Rage, has been heavily sedated his entire life and until his death, and has worked hard to suppress his rage his entire life due to Beforus being horrible and oppressive and like. Fucked. It's the opposite of Alternia and that is not a good thing, a good thing would be between them

and Dirk, a Prince of Heart, is ruthless and logical, and can be described as being heartless. He also makes copies upon copies upon copies of himself, and while Heart is all about identity, his is spread thin over his Dream and waking selves being awake at the same time, except for when his waking self sleeps, making an AI copy of himself, and having an imaginary version of him created by Jake. So. Yeah. A Prince has the least amount of their Aspect out of all the players in their session.

A Prince stays Aspect-neutral until the end of their session, and then they will embody the Aspect opposite of theirs instead of lacking their Aspect. So, that would be Eridan embodying Rage and Ultimate Dirk embodying Mind. Kurloz is not counted here, because he is dead and his session is scratched

so, after the session, its Prince and Bard will embody the same Aspect, usually at the same time, and obviously that can very easily send the whole thing to shit

oh, and did I mention that Bard and Prince are both "villain Classes"?

the villain Classes, afaict, are Bard, Prince, and Thief

a Prince is the one more likely to be actively malicious, a Thief brings harm through being selfish, and a Bard is almost always strung along

How does nobody in the fandom seem to get the implication that his thinkpan is already "rotted"? Like, he's been on that shit for years, long enough that not once do we hear any variation of "before Gamzee got on sopor" from anyone ever, it's pretty safe to assume that he has been a high 24/7 drug addict before he met any of the other trolls, so he couldn't have been any older than like. Eight years old, assuming he got introduced to the group last. Like. I feel like he's at a point where he would never be able to become functional without sopor, like cutting down would for sure be beneficial but I feel like an addiction that long-lasting would lowkey kill your body's ability to produce the thing you're addicted to and sopor, I scream at everyone in this fucking fandom, IS A SEDATIVE OF COURSE HE GOES BATSHIT AND OF COURSE IT BEGINS WITH HIM BEING SUPER PISSED AND HEY IS NOBODY GOING TO TALK ABOUT HOW ADULT GAMZEE BARELY TALKS??? This is my AU powered by my say so and literally nothing else, these are my dolls and they're living in my dollhouse. When we had monster high bolls as a kid, we'd play with them and eventually it would evolve to be "actually, their name is slightly different than the character's" and "hmm I think her fashion sense is different actually". • Killer's name is Killjoy because he used to constantly call people that, and eventually Dust got fed up and started referring to him as Killjoy, and it stuck

• on the note of names, Dream's name is actually Daydream. How does this relate to bad Sanses? Nightmare is the only one who knows his brother's full name (aside from Dream himself)

• originally Killer's name, given to him by Nightmare, before the others were taken in, was Chance. Killer does like that his new name has nothing from his past two lives in it though.

• Nightmare grows roses

• the castle is on a floating island. It didn't use yo be but after Nightmare got backstabbed for the last time, he decided that the only reasonable response was to make sure he wasn't available to reach to hurt him

• I have. So many Nightmare headcanons. He's the same person as Passive Nightmare, he's an emotionally stunted demigod with a grudge against people it can't be taken out on because they're all long dead

• Horror has Cotard's syndrome

• Nightmare is a wine drinker

• Dust is a smoker

• Dust projects the guilt for all of his friends' death onto Killer, and also sees himself in Killer, so their relationship is less than amicable for a very long time

• Horror has shaky hands

• Killer sleeps on the floor next to his bed

• Horror has chronic migraines, headaches, and is photosensitive

• Killer is both Sans and Chara at the same time. He is insolent and childish because half of him never got to grow up.

• I'll just put this here for context, I imagine that the player controls the soul, does the genocide route, Chara pretends to be pure evil because that's what they believe will compell Frisk to trust them, get the soul and, a they believe, control. They do not get control, but the player controls them through the soul and has them strike a deal with Sans. Killer is still under our control because he has the soul. Nightmare breaks him out of it

• Nightmare's actual body is hidden away in a garden where it sits on a fountain, leaking negative energy constantly, and he interacts with the world through copies of himself that he makes our if it to make sure that he can't be hurt again

• Nightmare is omnigrnder

• Dust has a skeletal structure closer to what would be typically found in a female. It's the trans the skeleton bit all over again

• Horror is a vegetarian because of trauma. He will eat meat if food he got happens to have had it without him being informed, but it sometimes gets so distressing for him that it can genuinely be considered self-harm. His hatered for wasting any resources overrides most anything else

• oh btw Horror is not Sour Apple Studios herself. He's a character she made. He's fake. Steal him. Steal him from her and then there's no controversy I fucking hate Insanity Sans kill it with fire and don't touch my fucking legend. Anyway yeah using her characters =/= supporting her, only openly supporting HER specifically and not her creations and also giving her money counts as supporting her. Hope this helps!

We are only now feeling up to expressing the emotions we are experiencing in regards to Karina leaving Drawfee.

I, personally, hope that all is well between them in their personal lives. We are also going to miss the weekly readily available dose of Karina.

We also feel upset and distressed about the sudden change. The lack of buildup to Karina's departure is also what has me worried for their relationship, as they all seemed to be close friends. I value interpersonal relationships dearly, so I hope nothing has soured theirs.

We will miss her dynamic with the other hosts, and we are looking forward to seeing what she does next, but we are concerned for the rest of Drawfee, as Jacob and Julia are still new parents that may need unexpected leaves that cannot be preemptively scheduled. Solo Nathan episode, anyone? /j

I love and respect everyone who makes troll ships and housing have metal insides and sometimes outsides and I love the hi-tech, but consider: Trolls are still like, Japan-style super advanced and hivestems are like those Chinese cities where you can go from the first floor of one building directly to the eleventh of another, basically the walled city of Kowloon and that's where most lowbloods and some midbloods live while highbloods and some midbloods live in lawnrings where they all have individual housing, sometimes separated by miles of land or sea, but. It's all made of meat and carapace and the lights are bioluminescent organs and only hivestems have parts that aren't living creautre because they can't afford to grow their creatures more, not in a controlled manner anyway, that's why they're all so close together, like they make their house against the outside of a hivestem out of wood and bones and pieces of dead carapace and the hivestem slowly grows outwards in an uncontrolled manner but it wraps the house, kinda incorporating but not properly, you're lucky if you have a neighbour who bothers to tell you to get an independent bioluminescent organism and put part of it out on your roof so that the hivestem assimilates it eventually because otherwise you will never have lights that you don't need to feed separately from your hivestem, and everyone feeds their hive because it's living and if you don't feed it, it dies. Meanwhile highblood housing is specifically manipulated to only grow to a certain point and then stop. It's absolutely gigantic, but not anywhere near as massive as hivestems, and it grows carapace inside and outside so eventually the only sounds it makes are the gurgling of digestion and the pulsing of blood in the walls. Anyway yeah what if everything was made out of meat is my point.
