    She was right, no one really cared about small or minor injuries so they just got on with it most of the time. “They found a whole unopened pack so I guess that must help with the condition of them. Even if you do just use them to hold IV’s in place, it’s still something.” And that was always better than nothing which was a rarity as the days went on.

We can’t have you out there when we need you in here.” They couldn’t risk the only doctor that they had, it wasn’t right and it was a risk that was too dangerous to take. “Have I?” Jessie shook her head. “No. I always had the kids and after they…after what happened I know if I see one of those things, I’ll freeze like I did he night they broke through. I can’t.” Her throat tightened and she felt like the walls were closing in just at the thought of it. “I want to help but not like that.”

Denise smiled at Jessie, showing her gratitude for her comment about her value for the community. "Yeah, I think I'm more valuable here than out there." No matter how unsure of her performance as an emergency doctor she was, she was sure that her place was inside the walls of Alexandria, not out. She nodded at the other woman, completely understanding her fear of being unable to react if she had to face a walker and her reluctance to talk about what happened to her sons. "Of course, there's a lot of things that need to be done in the community." The night that the Wolfs attacked Alexandria had been a turning point for everyone, but it especially hit Jessie's family and the fact that she wanted to get involved in as many tasks as she could since that night didn't go unnoticed. "And everybody appreciates that you are always willing to give a hand for everyone no matter if it's your assigned task or not".
