This weekend was almost 100% devoted to the construction and organization of our new "built in," Ikea Hemnes cabinets! On Friday, I had so much fun going to Ikea with Mr. L's mom, a.k.a. Mom-in-Law. We were like kids in a candy store, looking for both organizational cabinets for my house, and for back to school stuff for my new third grade classroom (more on that soon)!
After we finally managed to haul our new gear into Mom-in-Law's Volkswagen, my strong, sexy hunny came to the rescue, helping us to unload the car and assemble our new gear! We got one of these and two of these.
We love them!!! And even though I was worried that they would make our place look smaller, I am pleased to report that to the contrary, they make our townhouse look bigger and longer. I think the bigger house illusion is due to the fact that they have really helped us to find a specific place for lots of our nicknacks, and they have really helped us eliminate clutter. Ikea furniture, as wonderful as it can be, comes with some dang tricky instructions, and I can say with confidence that I could never completed this project without my able, willing, D-I-Y man.
We are so excited to have these new additions, and we're sure that we can make good use out of them in our rental home, and hopefully someday in a home of our own!
