A/n: This is meant to be a one shot. Maybe I'll turn it into a series, maybe I won't. Also, I don't read the comics and I know next to nothing about the X-Men, but I do know there is a character in the X-Men called Blink who has the exact same powers as Blink here, but she's not that Blink. I swear it was a coincidence.

Blink has been a pain in the ass these last few months for the Avengers. The first time they had heard of her was when Nick Fury had called in the team for a meeting after he had learned of a mysterious girl who was caught blinking in and out of existence in different parts of the world.
He had sent Natasha to go after her and try to recruit her. Nick had a lot of faith in Natasha, so he thought that it would be a simple recruitment mission. A one and done deal where Natasha would talk the girl down and convince her to at least consider coming in to join the team.
What he didn’t expect was for Natasha to call him saying that she was in a predicament. The predicament being Natasha hanging upside down from the Golden Gate Bridge with the words ‘Not Interested’ written on her forehead in permanent marker. Natasha wasn’t pleased.
Realizing that this wasn’t going to be as easy as he had thought, Fury instructed Steve, Sam, and Bucky to go after her seeing as Steve was a great communicator, but if things went wrong, he’d have backup.
Apparently two super soldiers and a trained fighter wasn’t enough because Blink had managed to transport them to the inside of a garbage truck, and the next thing they knew, they were being thrown into a mountain of trash at a dump site. The smell didn’t wear off for two days.
It was then that they realized that this girl wasn’t as mature as they had hoped she’d be, so they sent Clint seeing as he had a great track record with talking down younger people.
“You have the eyes of a hawk, right? Let’s see if you have the flight of one.” The girl grabbed hold of Clint’s shoulders and used her powers to teleport them at about seven hundred feet into the air.
“Flap your wings, old man! You can do it!” Clint screamed as everytime they got close to the ground, the girl would grab his shoulders and teleport them back up at the same height, doing so about seven times before letting Clint down safely.
She stayed to watch him vomit his lunch out before teleporting out when he shot at her with one of his explosive arrows. Clint was greatly considering permanently retiring after that one.
Nick then sent Peter to get her because he thought someone with Blink’s maturity level would go by better.
Peter was then found hanging by his underwear on an American flagpole at the white house with an extremely painful wedgie within ten minutes of interacting with Blink.
Intrigued by all of this, Tony decided it was his turn to throw his hat into the ring. Tony knows how to deal with punk ass kids, simply because he used to be the biggest punk ass kid in the area. If you wanted to know how to handle one, you had to understand what it was like to be one, and Tony was the most well equipped for the job.
With the help of Bruce, the two created a scanner that could predict where Blink was going to be popping out when she teleported based on the energy waves she was emitting whenever she did. They wanted to make a trap that would stop her from teleporting at all, but they didn’t know enough about her powers yet to do that.
Out of everyone in the Avengers, Tony was the only one who got close to beating Blink. He was quick and calculating, but he was also managing to get through to her by speaking her language. She wasn’t able to play any tricks on him at all because he always grabbed a hold of her before she got him.
He even managed to convince her to stop and listen to what he had to say. During that time, Tony had actually thought he had convinced Blink to join them. She was a talented kid who had a great understanding of her powers, she would be an excellent asset to their team. When Blink said she would think about it, Tony believed she would see reason.
Then three hours after she had left, a tweet went viral all around the world of a masked woman speaking into the camera.
“Yeah, I thought about it, and the answer is still no. Anyway, here is Tony Stark’s credit card information! Have fun with the shopping spree!” At some point during their talk, Blink had managed to pickpocket Tony’s wallet.
Thankfully the bank was able to cut his card off before it got too out of hand, but Tony had lost around two million dollars due to people all around the world using his credit card to buy whatever they wanted.
Needless to say, the Avengers’ egos were incredibly bruised, and Nick Fury was absolutely aggravated at having his best agents be defeated by some random kid.
“Trained assassins. Super soldiers. Air Force member. Seven PhDs. Enhanced senses. Ir-”
“Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.” Tony interrupted, causing Nick Fury to send him the harshest glare he could possibly muster. Tony just shrugged in response, not at all bothered.
“How did we let this happen!” Nick Fury exclaimed, slamming his hands on the meeting table.
“We didn’t let it happen.” Clint defended.
“You all had your asses handed to you by some kid who graffitied boobs on the statue of liberty.” Nick Fury said angrily through gritted teeth. Pietro snickered at the words, but one glare from Fury made him quiet down immediately.
“I’m sorry, but how did your attempt at dealing with her go? Oh wait, you didn’t deal with her. Why are you speaking again?” Tony asked and Nick shook his head in disappointment.
“This was supposed to be an easy mission. Get the kid to join the team, and then it’s done. The world’s greatest line of defense being knocked down by a kid wasn’t part of the plan.” Nick said.
“No offense, but you’re highly underestimating how capable that kid is. She caught all of us off guard, that wasn’t just some dumb luck.” Natasha explained.
“She obviously has no interest in joining us. We should just let her go instead of risking provoking her anymore.” Bruce said and the others let out tired and embarrassed words and noises of agreement.
“We sent Vision out, didn’t we? Where is he? He should be back by now.” Just as Nick finished speaking, Vision phased through the wall with clown makeup on his face and a rainbow wig on his head.
“She used gorilla glue to attach it onto my head, and I can’t seem to get it off of me.” Vision explained after they all stared at him in complete shock silence. They would laugh if they weren’t all humiliated in the same way.
“Unbelievable.” Nick mumbled under his breath as Vision took a seat at the table.
“Why don’t we just let this one go? If we continue going after her, we could risk turning her into an enemy, which is the exact opposite of what we’re trying to do. We’ve been fine without her, it’s not like we’ll be losing anything by stopping.” Steve asked.
“No. The chase goes on.” They were losing something, and that was their pride. Nick hated to admit it, but he really didn’t like being made a fool out of some kid who got lucky with some powers.
“We haven’t tried yet.” Pietro said with a raised hand, bringing the room’s attention onto him and Wanda.
“At this point, any attempt is welcome.” Nick said.
“Plus, I would personally like to see how Blink will be handling these two.” Tony added, causing the twins to glance at each other with slight worry.
“The next time Blink is sighted, you two will be assigned her case immediately. I suggest you start brainstorming ideas on how to stop her now.” Nick said before leaving the meeting room without another word.
And brainstorm they did. The other Avengers tried their best because they honestly wanted to see someone best Blink after the beating they had all gone through. A part of them wanted to be the one to defeat her themselves, but they were still recovering from the massive bruise she’s placed on their egos.
“We found her!” Bruce shouted as he ran into the main area of the compound where everyone was with a tablet in his hand.
“Where is she?” Steve asked as they all stood up and approached Bruce who got Friday to display a map on the tv.
“You’re not gonna like this.” Bruce said as zoomed in on a map before settling on an area where a giant circle of energy waves was being emitted.
“The Met Gala?” Pietro asked in confusion.
“We can’t intercept her there. It’s too much of a public place with a lot of people who we can’t risk getting hurt in an altercation.” Steve said as Bruce pulled up current live footage of the staircase entrance of the Met Gala.
“Then we’ll go undercover. Simple.” Wanda said with a shrug as she sat down.
“Any time anyone has ever thought things would be simple with Blink ended up having the worst time of their lives.” Natasha said, subconsciously rubbing her forehead as she was reminded of how she had to rub her skin raw just to get that permanent marker out.
“But we don’t know when she’s going to appear like this again. It’s almost been a month since her last sighting.” Wanda started.
“There’s hundreds of people there and we don’t even know what she looks like.” Bruce said as they watched the venue start filling up with more and more people.
“Then we use the little scanner thing you and Stark made.” Pietro said with a shrug.
“It’s too risky. Like you said, she hasn’t made an appearance in a month, and for her to be sighted at an event as big as this obviously has to be a trap.” Steve said and the twins glanced at each other again, having a silent conversation with their eyes.
Truth be told, they were still being treated as rookies on the team. Peter gets treated more familiarly by the team than they are, and they think it’s unfair. If they were able to be the ones responsible for taking down the menace that’s been embarrassing the Avengers these last few missions, then it could be enough to fully prove themselves to the team.
They needed to go on this mission.
“You know, me and Pepper actually got invitations to go to the Gala. But Pepper came down with a really bad stomach bug, so we decided not to go. If you two really want to go, you’ll at least have the invitations for it.” Tony said, causing everyone to turn to him.
“As for the sensor, it’ll be simple enough to put that on a pair of glasses or contacts. You’ll just need a dress and a suit that won’t make you stand out.” Tony said as he pulled out his phone and started contacting some people in order to get Pietro and Wanda access to the Met Gala.
“Tony, you can’t be serious.” Steve said in disbelief.
“Surprisingly enough, I can. I learned that from you. I’m wearing my serious face right now, how is it? It also happens to be my best Steve Rogers impression.” Tony said, lifting his head and giving Steve a look that mimicked the expression he usually wore.
“That’s actually pretty good.” Bruce pointed out and Tony thanked the man, but continued focusing his attention on Steve.
“This is a bad idea. They aren’t even prepared for handling her in that kind of environment. We’ve prepared for a more private encounter, but this is the Met Gala.” Natasha had educated Steve on all the major celebrity events that happen each year, so he knows how big this event actually was.
“Each time we’ve prepared for an encounter with Blink, we’ve failed. Maybe the best plan is to just have no plan at all.” Tony countered.
“We can’t risk all those people getting hurt. Blink is a wild card, we can’t predict what she’ll do.” Steve said, causing Tony to let out a scoff.
“What’s she gonna do? Murder a bunch of a-list celebrities and innocent staff members? She’s a kid, Rogers.” Tony said and Steve shook his head.
“Steve does have a point, though. We can’t be sure she won’t hurt people just because she’s a kid. I’ve seen kids as young as seven years old do worse things than most of you.” Natasha said and Steve sent her a thankful smile.
“Thank you, Natasha.” He said and Tony rolled her eyes.
“If I may.” Everyone turned to Vision who had remained silent during the entire discussion.
“During my encounter with Blink, I never got the impression that she wanted to do harm to anyone. Based on everything she’s done so far, it truly seems like she’s just a girl who has an affinity for practical jokes.” Vision spoke up.
“See, that’s why you’re my kid.” Tony said, sending Vision an appreciative nod.
“Plus, if she wanted to hurt people, she would’ve done so a long time ago. Before Fury sent you guys on her tail, she wasn’t really doing anything bad other than petty theft.” Wanda spoke.
They all recalled when they heard reports of a mysterious vanishing figure infiltrating a candy store and stealing all their marshmallows and Kit-Kats, along with a giant gumball machine that was returned the next day with a note that said ‘I thought it was real. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.”
“Just let us take this mission. We’ll be subtle and handle it as quietly as possible. This isn’t the first time you’ve put us on a stealth mission, and if things start to go wrong, we’ll head back straight away.” Pietro said, but Steve still looked unsure.
“If you’re gonna go after her, maybe we should all go. Three people wasn’t enough to take her down, but maybe we could overwhelm her if we went at her all at the same time.” Steve suggested.
“Sure, because having all the Avengers suddenly make an appearance at an event without explanation totally won’t alarm the public and make them think they’re in danger of a world shattering threat.” Tony said and Steve let out a sigh.
“Look, if we fail, we fail. It won’t be any different from your guys’ attempts, but at least we’d be able to try.” Wanda said with a shrug and Pietro nodded in agreement.
“Besides, Blink seems to like laying low and being out of the public eye. I doubt she’d cause a scene at such a major event.” Pietro added and Steve glanced around at the rest of the team.
They all seemed to be okay with the twins going. If they thought something was wrong with it, they would speak up about it, but they were all silent. Realizing that he was outnumbered on the choice, Steve let out a reluctant sigh.
“Fine.” He said and Tony clapped his hands together.
“That’s great! Just in time too.” He said, and before Steve could even question anything, the door to the room opened.
“Do you know how difficult it is to get an entire glam team on such short notice? You owe me big time.” Happy said as he walked in with an entire team behind him.
Men and women with mirrors, makeup kits, a rack of extravagant clothing, and things of the sort walked in and started moving the furniture of the compound around to make space for them to set up.
“You called a makeup team?” Natasha asked with a raised eyebrow.
“It’s the Met Gala, and they’re supposed to be undercover! If they lay low, they’re gonna end up standing out more than blending in.” Tony said as two people on the team led Pietro and Wanda over to two chairs they set up.
The team watched in amazement as Pietro and Wanda were completely glammed up from their hair to their makeup before they were quickly fitted into outfits that fit them perfectly in the way Peter’s suit would.
“Bruce, run to the lab and get me the glasses and contact lenses with the energy scanners I made.” Tony said to Bruce who turned to him with a look of shock.
“Have you been multitasking this entire time?” He asked and Tony furrowed his eyebrows at the question.
“You’re telling me you’re not constantly multitasking?” Tony asked, and instead of questioning him, Bruce just shook his head and ran to the lab.
Once they were all suited up and ready, Bruce came back and handed Pietro the glasses and gave Wanda the contact lenses.
“Alright, you two might just be able to jump in and call yourselves fashionably late. I’ve already informed the staff and the press that you two will be making an appearance, so you have to leave now.” Tony said and Wanda and Pietro glanced at each other before leaving the room.
“And don’t crash my car!” Tony shouted as he tossed Pietro his keys, which the boy caught with ease.
“Who would’ve thought we’d be attending a fashion event in Tony Stark’s car?” Pietro asked his sister with a smirk.
“Maybe being an Avenger isn’t so bad.” Wanda said with delight as they walked into the garage and caught sight of Tony’s car.
When arriving at the Met Gala, the press became even more hectic than they were at the sight of two Avengers. It was very rare for an Avenger other than Tony Stark to attend public events like these, so they were taking as many pictures as they could, and every interviewer was eager to hold a conversation with the twins.
Natasha had instructed them to do a few interviews, but reveal very little as possible about themselves. Wanda let Pietro do most of the talking since he’s always been better with people.
When they got past all the paparazzi and interviewers, Pietro and Wanda carried onto the staircase and entered the venue. They tried their best to keep moving without stopping and gawking at all the a-list celebrities around them, but they couldn’t help pausing for a minute or two.
“Should we split up?” Wanda asked her brother who quickly took two glasses of champagne from a waiter who passed by them.
“Sure. Meet back at the table once dinner starts” Pietro said, handing his sister the other glass. The two clinked their glasses together and drank before walking off into separate directions.
Wanda was approached by a few celebrities, and she tried her hardest not to look too starstruck whenever one she recognized made conversation with her. For a girl who grew up in poverty during a time where her country was a war ground, being around the elite class with nothing but glamour around her was very overwhelming.
She had almost completely forgotten that she was on a mission when Lady Gaga had approached her and told her how much she loved her dress. But the sound of Pietro speaking in her coms reminded her of how important it was that she stayed focused.
Wanda continued walking around the museum, looking at all the costumes on display while glancing through each guest to see if anyone looked suspicious or emitted some form of energy.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Wanda turned her head when a woman stepped up next to her and looked up at the mannequin in front of them.
“It is.” Wanda answered simply, pretending to analyze the outfit as if she knew a single thing about fashion.
“You know, the designer of this dress was actually Ernest Hemmingway in the twenties.” The woman started, causing Wanda to turn to her in surprise.
“Apparently the design of the dress came to him in a dream, and he commissioned a bunch of designers to make it, but none of them could get it right. He freaked out on a bunch of them. So he made it on his own, and this is the original piece.” The woman said and Wanda raised her eyebrows, impressed as she looked at the dress in a new light.
“Really?” She asked, still shocked.
“No, I made that up.” The woman said casually and Wanda turned to her in shock once more.
“What?” Wanda asked and the woman smiled at her.
“The story I just told you? Total bullshit, made it up on the spot.” The woman confessed and Wanda let out a laugh at the absurdity of the statement.
“Why lie?” Wanda asked and the woman shrugged.
“What else am I supposed to do at this event? It’s so much more fun making your own stories about the origins of these dresses instead of analyzing the deeper meaning of it. Cause most of the time, there really isn’t.” The woman explained and Wanda smiled at the explanation, causing her to smile as well.
“Y/n L/n.” She said, holding her hand out to Wanda who took it with a smile.
“Wanda Maximoff.” Wanda said and the woman smiled.
“So, what is an Avenger doing out here attending a fashion event instead of… I don’t know, saving orphanages or something.” Y/n asked and Wanda laughed softly at the words.
“Turns out all the orphanages are closed, so we had some free time.” Wanda joked and Y/n smiled in amusement.
“What, is the children’s hospital too good for you guys?” Y/n retorted, making Wanda laugh once more.
“You know I’m an Avenger, but what do you do?” Wanda asked, causing Y/n to furrow her eyebrows.
“You’re telling me you don’t know who I am?” Y/n asked in an offended tone. Wanda froze, eyes widening in shock as Y/n’s friendly demeanor completely disappeared.
“Oh, I’m not very updated with all the celebrities now, so I don’t-” Wanda was cut off mid-apology when Y/n started snickering before fully laughing.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself. I’m just a plus one.” Y/n said in the middle of laughing, and Wanda let out a breath of relief when she realized Y/n was just joking.
“You really love playing jokes, don’t you?” Wanda asked and Y/n smiled proudly.
“Life’s already way too dark to be serious all the time, I’m just making it more fun. Besides, jokes are great for the heart. Makes you laugh, gets your blood pumping.” Y/n said and Wanda smiled in amusement.
“Is that a medically proven statement?” Wanda asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh, yeah. I read it on webmd, so you know it’s legit.” Y/n said and Wanda shook her head.
“Do you only speak in jokes?” Wanda asked half-seriously.
“Pretty much, but my mouth can do other things that can get your blood pumping.” Wanda’s eyes widened and she looked at the woman with surprise, though the woman was not fazed in the slightest, as if she had done nothing more than comment on the weather.
The comment came completely out of left field, but Y/n took it with confidence and was waiting on Wanda to respond with an intense stare in her eyes. It was sudden, and nothing could have prepared Wanda for such a brazen statement such as that, from a stranger nonetheless…
But she’d be lying if she said she was put off by it.
“Ms. L/n, are you flirting with me?”
“It depends, but if I was, would you like me to continue?” Y/n asked with a charming smile.
A small laugh left Wanda as she looked the woman up and down. She was definitely easy on the eyes, and even in a room full of the best looking people in the world, Y/n still managed to take Wanda’s breath away more than anyone else. Not to mention the fact that she was funny and was already proving to be great company.
The woman was incredibly attractive and had the ability to make Wanda laugh. Plus, she knew who Wanda was, and she didn’t seem at all afraid of her, unlike everyone else on the Earth who knew about her. So why in the world would Wanda be turned off by a woman like Y/n flirting with her?
Instead of giving a direct response, Wanda bit her lip and looked at the woman through her lashes, making Y/n’s pupils dilate as her eyes fell on Wanda’s mouth. The action made a smile appear on Wanda’s face as her face started to warm up, turning around and taking a sip of her champagne to hide her excitement.
“Wanda! Wanda!” Wanda looked around at the sound of her name being called, only to realize that it was coming from her ear piece. Right, she was on a mission.
“Excuse me for a second.” Wanda said with an apologetic smile to Y/n who smiled teasingly in return.
“Tease ‘em and leave ‘em, huh?” She asked and Wanda gave the woman a sly grin.
“Well, I can’t just give you everything right off the bat. Gotta leave them wanting more.” Wanda said and Y/n chuckled while shaking her head.
“You’re definitely doing a good job at that.” Y/n said in a low tone, causing Wanda’s heart to flutter.
She turned to leave, giving Y/n one last look over her shoulder before walking away. Wanda took a moment to catch her breath as she did. She’s been so busy working as an Avenger that it had been ages since she interacted with someone in a romantic way.
Speaking of Avenger, she was on a mission, and her brother was calling for her. Wanda took out her phone and put it to her ear, pretending like someone had called her before unmuting her comms.
“What is it? Did you find her?” Wanda spoke, only for her brother to practically scream her ear off from excitement.
“Rihanna talked to me! Like, we had a full on conversation about normal stuff! That is so crazy!” Her brother gushed and Wanda rubbed at her eyes in irritation.
“You interrupted me for that?” Wanda muttered in annoyance.
“That, and Lizzo just told me I was her favorite Avenger and invited me to her next concert in Texas, so ha.” Pietro bragged, making Wanda let out a gasp.
“That is so unfair, I want to go too!” Wanda exclaimed with envy.
“She invited both of us, so we’re set!” Pietro added and a laugh of disbelief escaped Wanda, thinking about how fun it would be to be at a Lizzo concert, invited by Lizzo herself.
Only to remember that, once again, they were in the middle of a mission.
“Wait, no, Pietro, we’re getting sidetracked. We’re here to find Blink, not mingle with celebrities!” And flirt with really beautiful and funny women, but her brother didn’t need to know that part.
“Oh, come on, Wanda! When’s the next time we’re gonna be able to hang out with a bunch of famous people like this in an exclusive event?” Pietro argued.
“We’re literally Avengers, Pietro. We work with Tony Stark, how much more famous do you want?” Wanda asked.
“But he’s old and crusty!” Pietro said and Wanda rolled her eyes.
“Blink hasn’t even done anything. If she does, I swear we’ll be on her the very second she appears, but for now, let’s just enjoy it! It’s the Met Gala! This doesn’t just have to be a mission. We barely ever go out and take time for ourselves, when’s the last time we let ourselves have fun?” Pietro asked and Wanda let out a sigh, but thought over her brother’s words.
Her brother did have a point. Most of their time was spent working and going on missions, and during their time off, the two of them were always way too tired to do anything fun. The only time they ever really go to parties is when Tony throws his fundraisers, and even then, they were busy trying to get sponsors. Plus, everyone was always boring and old, and Pietro and Wanda didn’t really want to talk to those people.
Wanda looked back to where she was earlier to see Y/n talking to an a-list celebrity that Wanda couldn’t name. As if sensing that someone was watching her, Y/n turned away and her eyes caught Wanda’s in an instant. A smile appeared on Y/n’s face and she raised her glass of champagne and nodded at Wanda who smiled shyly before turning away.
Maybe her brother was right. One good look around the area, and there was not a single energy reading in sight. Blink might not even be here, and if she was, she was probably just enjoying a night hanging around a bunch of famous people. With everything the Avengers knew about Blink, she really didn’t seem like the person to cause destruction, just light chaos.
There was no sign of potential danger, and Blink was essentially harmless. The only reason she was on the Avengers’ radar was because she was seen using her powers, but she wasn’t a threat. Her and Pietro could just be wasting their breath, and they know they did this in order to prove themselves, but if there was nothing to prove, then why not have some fun?
It was good for the heart, after all.
“A really beautiful woman was flirting with me earlier, you think I should go for it?” Wanda asked in a more relaxed tone, causing her brother to laugh.
“That’s what I’m talking about! Yes, go for it! If anything comes up, I’ll tell you right away. I’m gonna go, Olivia Rodrigo is waving at me.” Just like that, the comms went out and Wanda laughed at her brother’s giddiness.
“Back for more already?” Y/n asked teasingly when she saw Wanda walking over to her.
“Well, I couldn’t just leave you like that. Though I will admit, you look cute when you pout.” Wanda said, testing the waters with Y/n, and based on the pleased smile she was giving her, Wanda could confidently say that going for it wouldn’t end rejection.
“Flattery will get you everywhere with me, Ms. Maximoff. Please, do continue.” Y/n said, making Wanda laugh once more.
“Alright everyone, if you could please follow me as we head onto our next location where dinner will be served!” One of the event managers announced, grabbing everyone’s attention before heading through a set of doors.
“Don’t go.” Y/n said, reaching out and grabbing Wanda’s hand when she turned around and started following as well.
She felt her heart jump at the contact, turning around and looking at their joined hands in shock. Y/n’s hands were soft and warm, and her hold on her was gentle. Wanda didn’t let go and slid her hand further so it could properly be in Y/n’s before looking up to the woman with a questioning look.
“I snuck into the kitchen earlier and tried the food, it really isn’t that good. I’ve tried McDonald’s from other countries that taste better than anything they’ll be serving.” Y/n said and Wanda shook her head in amusement.
“Where will we go then?” Wanda asked and Y/n grinned cheekily in response.
“You’ll just have to come and see for yourself.” Y/n said and a giggle left Wanda’s mouth.
It was so bizarre. Get a mission assigned to her at the Met Gala of all places, be surrounded by a bunch of celebrities she’s only ever seen from a screen who somehow know who she is, meet a woman who was practically the woman of Wanda’s dreams and be swept off her feet, and still not a single sign of trouble from blink; it all seemed too good to be true.
But Wanda wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth. Her brother was absolutely right, if there wasn’t anything to prove, then might as well just have fun instead of forcing it.
“Lead the way then.” Wanda said and Y/n’s grin grew wider, squeezing Wanda’s hand before subtly leading her away from the crowd so that nobody would spot them.
On their way out, Wanda caught sight of her brother who was in the middle of a conversation with Pete Davidson who had Kim Kardashian by his side. She sent him a message with her powers and Pietro turned his head to where he felt it, eyes widening when he saw Wanda leaving hand in hand with a mysterious woman.
“Oh my god!” Pietro mouthed to his sister in wonder.
“I know!” Wanda mouthed back with the exact same expression. Her brother gave her two thumbs up and a grin, making the girl giggle before turning back and following wherever Y/n was taking her.
Y/n and Wanda weaved through the crowd before fleeing away from everyone. Soon enough, trying their best to be stealthy turned into running and laughing with each corner they turned.
“Where are we going?” Wanda asked as they continued to run hand in hand, and Y/n merely laughed in response.
“Hell if I know! That’s the best part of this!” Y/n said, letting go of Wanda’s hand as she jumped on one top of a chaise, kicking away a throw pillow before pressing her foot against the wall and jumping off of it.
Wanda laughed in disbelief as Y/n started running again. Y/n turned around and started running backwards, grinning at Wanda who shook her head. She might as well, Y/n knew she was a superhero anyway.
Wanda got herself a running start before doing a cartwheel and transitioning to a backhand spring, landing gracefully with a bow while Y/n gaped at her in amazement.
“Damn girl, in heels too! Making me want to get in on that superhero workout routine.” Y/n said, applauding Wanda who giggled.
“I just learnt that one too.” Wanda said and Y/n grinned, placing one arm behind her back and extending the other one towards Wanda.
“Ms. Maximoff.” Y/n said in a posh accent and Wanda placed a hand on her chest as the other held Y/n’s.
“Ms. L/n- Ah!” Wanda yelped when spun her around, the shock turning into laughter as Y/n pulled her on and they started running again.
Wanda hadn’t felt fun like this since she was a little kid. Her entire life had been filled with loss and hardships, and rarely did she ever give herself the luxury of having fun. It was exhilarating, and for just a moment, Wanda could let herself forget that she was a superhero meant to be alert at every single moment in case the world got torn to shreds.
Right now, she wasn’t Wanda Maximoff, Avenger who had the responsibility of the entire world on her shoulders; she was just Wanda Maximoff, a girl living her life and having fun like every other person in their twenties. She had Y/n to thank for giving her the opportunity to feel like this when she thought she’d never be able to know what it’s like to be normal.
She had magic abilities, hung out with the world’s greatest Avengers, and even if she wasn’t, she was attending a super elite fashion event filled with incredibly rich people, nothing about this was normal.
Yet Wanda was smiling so hard that her cheeks hurt, and laughing so hard that her entire body was shaking. She was running as fast as she could, and for the first time in a long time, she was just doing it for fun and not because she had something to run from or something to chase. The last time Wanda was able to do something as mundane as running, smiling, and laughing without care was when she was a kid.
Y/n led her and Wanda into a random room and shut the door behind them. She leaned against it and started catching her breath as the laughter started to fade away. She looked at Wanda who was also catching her breath, but the woman was staring right at her with an expression that Y/n couldn’t describe.
A laugh left Y/n’s laugh because she didn’t know how else to respond. The next thing she knew, Wanda was walking over to her and placing her hands on the side of her face, pulling her into a kiss that took all of the air that Y/n just regained into her lungs.
Her eyes were wide with shock, but she quickly got her senses together and placed her hands on the woman’s waist, pulling her closer and letting herself fall into the kiss.
It wasn’t Wanda’s first kiss, but she had never kissed someone with such intensity before, and never had she kissed someone who was so gentle with her but still managed to light her entire body on fire.
Wanda’s hand moved to the back of Y/n’s neck, pulling her closer to her while the other buried itself in the woman’s hair. Y/n tilted her head to the side and probed her tongue on Wanda’s bottom lip, and Wanda hummed in response before opening her mouth and meeting Y/n’s tongue in the middle with her own.
Y/n slowly trailed her hands up Wanda’s spine, making the woman shiver at her touch. In a swift motion, Y/n’s hand went underneath Wanda’s thigh and pulled her leg up, pulling the woman even closer to her body. Wanda decided to go further and lift her other leg, and Y/n was quick to catch it and turn them around so that Wanda was pressing against the door.
Wanda let out a gasp when their lips finally separated, only to release a sigh, barely holding back a moan as Y/n’s lips moved onto her jaw then down to her neck. Her breath was hot against her skin and another sharp gasp left Wanda’s mouth, her fingers tugging at Y/n’s hair when the woman started sucking on a spot on her neck that got her heart racing.
A low moan left Y/n’s mouth when Wanda tugged at her hair, and the sound made Wanda groan, hands going back to the sides of Y/n’s face and pulling her back up to her. It was a messy kiss where Y/n and Wanda often found themselves missing each other’s lips, not a care in the world and just wanting to feel each other on them, but it was one filled with a fiery passion that Wanda couldn’t get enough of.
“Wanda, I got a reading.” Wanda pulled away from Y/n with wide eyes, about to unmute her comms so she could respond when Y/n went back down to her neck while her hands trailed up, her thumbs brushing against Wanda’s breasts.
She wasn’t able to contain her moan, and she was incredibly grateful her comms didn’t turn back on, her back arching against the woman’s touch, and her breathing grew heavy.
“Wait, wait, Y/n.” Wanda said, placing her hands on the woman’s shoulders and pushing her away.
“Are you alright?” Y/n asked in a concerned tone when she noticed the slight panic in Wanda’s tone.
“No— Wait, yes, I am. I’m great, actually, that was just- I’ve never really…” Wanda said while catching her breath and a smile slowly made its way onto Y/n’s face, taking Wanda’s breath away once again.
“Wow.” Wanda said while releasing a breath which made Y/n laugh, the sound making Wanda’s stomach flip.
“Wow indeed.” Y/n said with a nod before leaning back in. Wanda sighed and let herself fall back into the kiss, until she quickly remembered that her brother had actually caught sight of the reason they were there in the first place.
“Wait, seriously though.” Wanda said, pushing Y/n back again as she unwrapped her legs from the woman’s mid section and carefully setting herself back down.
“Is everything okay?” Y/n asked once more as she stepped back a bit so they could both have room to breathe.
“Yes, everything is fine.” Wanda said and another smile came onto Y/n’s face, practically making Wanda’s knees melt as a small giggle left her lips. But she shook out of her trance once more and focused on what she needed to focus on.
“I’m really sorry I have to cut this short, but my twin instincts are screaming at me and I just have a feeling that I really need to get to my brother right now.” Wanda explained as best as she could without revealing that she was on a mission.
“Oh, that sounds serious.” Y/n said and Wanda nodded in response.
“Again, I’m really sorry, I just really have to get to my brother.” Wanda continued and Y/n sent her a reassuring smile.
“Hey, it’s fine, I understand. Can’t say I know what twin instincts are, but I get wanting to be there for family.” Y/n said and Wanda let out a breath of relief knowing that she didn’t offend Y/n.
Wanda stepped forward and put Y/n’s hands into her own before leaning in and connecting their lips once more. It was light and sweet this time, and before she could fall into it and continue what they were doing earlier, Wanda pulled away and smiled.
“I’d really like to do this again sometime.” Wanda said, squeezing Y/n’s hands which made the girl smile as well.
“Come find me the next time the orphanage closes down.” Y/n joked and Wanda laughed once again before giving Y/n another quick kiss.
They stepped away from each other and Wanda gave Y/n a shy smile before slipping out of the room.
She leaned against the door and put her hands over her face, trying to contain a huge smile that just would not leave her lips. That was exhilarating and nothing like anything Wanda had ever experienced before. Wanda has had her fair share of quick romances, but none have ever left her as smitten as that.
“Wanda? Are you there? If you’re getting busy, don’t bother responding, I’d rather not hear any of that.” Pietro spoke in her ears and Wanda let out a sigh at the reminder.
“Ha, ha, you’re so funny.” Wanda spoke with an eye roll as she pushed herself off the wall and started walking back to where everyone was.
“Thank you. I’m glad you’re finally admitting that I’m the funnier twin.” Wanda shook her head at the comment.
“Where are you? I’m on the move.” Wanda said, getting back on track as she started walking quicker.
“Currently walking through the kitchens. The signal came from the back, I have sights on it right now.” Pietro said.
“Don’t approach, wait for me, I’m on my way.” Wanda said as she picked up the pace and started running.
“I’ll corner her and apprehend her. We can interrogate together.” Pietro said as he weaved through all the staff and headed for the back door where people were coming in and out holding crates of ingredients.
“No, Pietro, did you not hear me? Do not approach.” Wanda said in a frustrated tone.
“I got this, sister. I’m quicker than ever now, her teleportation has nothing on me.” Pietro said as he stepped out into the cold night and looked around him to try and see if Blink was hiding anywhere.
When the area seemed clear, Pietro reached into his pocket and took out the stun gun he had in his pocket, holding it out and at the ready as he slowly approached where the energy was emitting.
It was right behind the corner of the building and Pietro pushed himself up against the wall and took a deep breath to prepare himself for any altercation that might happen.
In the next second, Pietro popped out of the corner with his stun gun extended out, finger on the trigger and ready to shoot. But there was nobody there.
The energy emission was right next to him and Pietro turned to his left in confusion. There was nothing but a bunch of trash cans and filled up trash bags. He kneeled down and pushed through all the trash bags when he realized the energy was emitting from beneath them.
He quickly stood up and stepped back in shock when he saw a dirtied Iron Man suit graffitied all over with doodles lying there on the ground. Suddenly, the sound of it coming to life filled his ears, the eyes of the suit beginning to glow along with the reactor on its chest.
“Shit.” Pietro cursed, immediately turning around to run as the Suit started coming apart, each piece coming after him at a speed he was barely outrunning.
“Wanda, it was a trap, get ready for anything!” Pietro exclaimed after turning his comms back on, glancing behind him to see the suit was still coming after him, pushing himself to run faster.
“What? What’s going on, what happened?” Wanda questioned in a panic as she pushed through the staff member that was questioning her on why she wasn’t at the dinner with everyone else.
“Blink somehow got ahold of one of Tony’s suits and it’s coming after me!” Pietro said, almost successfully outrunning him when a portal opened up right before him with a familiar figure appearing from it.
“Hiya, speedy.” The woman spoke with a cheeky grin.
Pietro’s gaze hardened and continued running, expecting the woman to move away, but she simply smirked and stood her ground, raising her head in challenge to the speedster.
He didn’t fall for it and continued running right at Blink who showed no signs of fear or wanting to move. Then, a portal appeared right in front of Pietro and the man was quick to stop before he fell in. The portal disappeared and suddenly, Blink was right in front of him with a grin on her face.
She had no mask and she wasn’t wearing the suit that she usually wore when the Avengers went after her. Pietro didn’t know why Blink was showing him her face, but he seemed awfully familiar to the man.
“Pietro? What happened? Are you okay?” At the sound of his sister’s voice, Pietro’s eyes widened when he realized who this woman was. The look of recognition on Pietro’s face made Blink smirk and Pietro reeled his fist back, ready to punch the woman in the face when the sound of machines whirring from behind him caught his ears.
“God damn-” Pietro couldn’t even finish as his entire body was captured into the Iron Man suit that had been chasing after him.
“Enjoy the flight, buddy!” Blink said with a wave.
“Wait-” Pietro couldn’t even finish, letting out a scream when the Iron Man suit suddenly jolted into the air and sent him flying out at a speed even he couldn’t handle.
“Pietro? Pietro!” Wanda shouted into her comms when the last thing she heard was her brother screaming and gagging while begging for ‘it’ to stop.
“Shit!” Wanda said, continuing to run until she reached the kitchen. She had finally seen all the energy emissions her brother was talking about and was now running out of the backdoor, hands and eyes glowing red as she prepared herself for a fight.
It was silent, the only noise coming from the streets where cars were whizzing past and honking their horns. Wanda slowly walked around, eyes scanning every single area of the alleyway and turning around every few seconds to keep herself covered.
The sound of footsteps reached her ears and Wanda quickly turned around and shot an energy blast in the direction she heard them. Her energy blast hit a trash can which was sent tumbling over, and the sound of a cat whining and hissing filled the air as it ran out of the trash can.
“Well that wasn’t very nice to the cat.” Wanda jumped and turned around, about to shoot another energy blast when she felt something enclose around her hands, making them impossible to move.
Wanda furrowed her eyebrows when she saw a metal contraption restricting her hands before looking up and glaring at Blink.
Her entire body froze and her eyes widened when she wasn’t faced with the masked assailant she had seen so many times in photos during briefings. Instead, she was met with the familiar breathtaking face of Y/n L/n who had a big grin on her face.
“Nice to see you again, Ms. Maximoff.” Y/n leaned forward and placed a quick peck on Wanda’s lips.
Wanda was about to cuss the woman out when Y/n grabbed her wrists and settled them around her neck, then the next thing she knew, Wanda was falling backwards before her entire vision was consumed with an otherworldly sight that her mind couldn’t comprehend.
In the next second, Wanda was no longer standing in the middle of an alleyway or falling into what she could only assume was the inner depths of the universe. Instead, she was at the very top of the Empire State Building with only the tip of her feet having something to stand on.
Wanda let out a scream in fear when she saw how high she was, pulling herself closer against Y/n who laughed and placed her hand on Wanda’s waist to keep her secure.
“See, this is what I meant by good for your heart! Really feeling the blood pumping now, right?” Y/n asked through her laughter.
“Put me down! Put me down, right now!” Wanda exclaimed, looking at Y/n with wide eyes that were glowing red.
“Oh, put you down? Like back on the ground? Okay then.” Y/n said, letting go of the broadcast antenna and slowly letting her and Wanda fall.
“No, no, Y/n don’t!” Wanda shouted, burying her head in Y/n’s shoulder and bracing herself for the fall.
But it never came. Wanda lifted her head up and sighed a breath of relief when she saw that Y/n had held on again.
“Sheesh, you want me to bring you down, then you tell me not to. Are you a Gemini by chance? Because you are very indecisive.” Y/n said sarcastically and Wanda let out a breath of frustration, clenching her eyes and teeth in annoyance.
“I can’t believe you were Blink this entire time!” Wanda shouted angrily at Y/n whose eyebrows raised in interest at her words.
“Ooh, Blink, that sounds catchy. See, I was thinking more of Jester for the branding thing, but Blink sounds way better. I don’t know how I didn’t think about it sooner.” Y/n said while letting go of the antenna once more to gesture with her hands, causing Wanda to scream when she felt them starting to fall again.
“Put. Me. Down.” Wanda said through gritted teeth.
“You know the government has a bunch of stuff prepared to take you guys down in case the Avengers go rogue? Whole bunch of shit, all in one facility. You guys owe me cause I totally stole all that stuff, and I was very tempted to sell it on the black market, but right power in the wrong hands and all that junk. It’s where I got this nifty thing on you, it’s very useful.” Y/n said, tapping the mechanism trapping Wanda’s hands and completely ignoring what she had just said..
“You are-” Wanda stopped herself mid-sentence when the words Y/n spoke fully processed in her head.
“What?” Wanda asked in confusion and Y/n just shrugged her shoulders.
“You’re welcome.” Y/n said and Wanda furrowed her eyebrows at Y/n before shaking her head.
“Where’s my brother? What did you do to him?” Wanda asked impatiently.
“Well-” Y/n was interrupted when high pitched screaming reached both hers and Wanda’s ears.
They both looked up just in time to see an Iron Man suit fly past them and go off into the distance. Wanda turned back to Y/n, sending the woman a harsh glare.
“He’s having a bit of a joyride.” Y/n answered and Wanda stepped on Y/n’s foot, making Y/n groan and let go of the antenna as her hand went to grip her foot.
“Y/n, you let go! Y/n!” Wanda exclaimed as they started falling.
This time, Y/n wasn’t able to grab the antenna again in time, causing them to actually start falling from the top of the Empire State Building. Wanda let out a scream as tears started filling in her eyes when she felt her body lurch forward.
Suddenly, she was no longer falling and she was met with solid concrete, along with a hand on the back of her head to protect it from impacting the solid material. Wanda grunted when Y/n’s body landed on top of her and the woman was still groaning from her foot.
“God, why are your heels so fucking sharp?” Y/n groaned as she propper herself up on her forearms and looked down at the woman below her.
They were incredibly close to each other, bodies still pressed against each other while their lips were barely a breath away, even the slightest of movement causing them to brush against each other.
“Hi there.” Y/n mumbled, eyes slowly falling shut as she leaned forward.
Before their lips met though, Wanda leaned her head back before surging forward and smashing it against Y/n’s. The woman let out a groan in pain, ducking under Wanda’s arms and stumbling back while rubbing her forehead.
Wanda quickly got up and kicked Y/n’s jaw, making the woman stumble back onto the ground. Y/n tried getting up but was quickly pushed back down when she felt a heel press down against her chest.
“You know during our kiss, I had a brief fantasy where we’d end up in a position very much like this, but right now it’s not in the context I’d imagine it would be in.” Y/n spoke, causing Wanda to turn red in embarrassment at the words.
“You look beautiful at this angle, by the way.” Y/n said with a wink and Wanda’s face scrunched up in disgust before pressing her heel harder onto Y/n’s chest.
“This mission was supposed to be about taking you in quietly and talking you down, but after everything you’ve pulled tonight, talking is out of the question.” Wanda said in a neutral tone, the anger simmering right below it which made Y/n laugh nervously.
“It wasn’t like I did anything particularly bad. I was just having a bit of fun.” Y/n said with a chuckle that turned into a wince when Wanda dug her heel deeper.
“You have a completely sick definition of fun. Did you enjoy playing me and making me look like a fool too?” Wanda asked, trying to sound unphased, but the hurt in her tone was clear as day for Y/n who actually had the decency to look guilty for that.
“I wasn’t playing you, I was just…” Y/n trailed off, trying to find the right words which made Wanda raise an eyebrow at her.
“Lying to me?” Wanda questioned while tilting her head.
“Lying is such a strong word, you know? More like not telling you things.” Y/n said.
“Where I’m from, that’s called lying.” Wanda said and Y/n let out a huff.
“Well, you’re from Sokovia, so there’s probably a different meaning to it- Okay, okay, no more jokes!” Y/n wheezed out when she felt the heel start pressing her ribs against her lungs.
“Okay, I lied about being Blink, but that was the only thing I lied about! And the Ernest Hemmingway thing, but I already admitted to that being a lie right after I said it.” Y/n said and Wanda shook her head in disbelief.
“And what? That’s supposed to make you playing with me any better?” Wanda asked.
“I wasn’t playing with you, I swear that part was real.” Y/n said and Wanda let out a scoff.
“You expect me to believe you? You said it yourself, you were having a bit of fun. I’m just another part of this game you’re playing, but I don’t take being somebody’s pawn very well.” Wanda said, her eyes glowing red, but with her hands still restricted, she wasn’t able to do what she wanted to the woman below her.
“You think I expected that to happen? I know I’m notorious for playing pranks on you guys, but do you really think I’m so fucked up as to do that to someone as a practical joke? I’m an asshole, sweetie, not Tony Stark.” Y/n said and Wanda gritted her teeth and pressed her foot harder against Y/n’s chest.
“All you do is lie.” Wanda said and Y/n groaned in pain but continued to stare Wanda right in the eyes.
“You really think I’d let you crush me like this if I didn’t feel bad even a tiny bit? You’re the one with the handicap here, not me. I could’ve pushed your ass off this roof the moment you kicked me in the face, but I happen to enjoy the view.” Y/n said and Wanda’s glare hardened at the words.
But she was right. This whole time, Y/n was just letting Wanda take control. She could’ve easily portalled herself out of the situation or overpowered Wanda with ease, but she stayed on the ground even when Wanda dug her heel deeper and deeper into her.
Carefully, the woman took her foot off from Y/n, but prepared herself in case she made an attempt to escape. Y/n let out a breath and gripped her chest, sitting herself up and wincing as she rubbed the sore part where Wanda’s heel was previously resting on.
“You just had to wear stilettos tonight, huh?” Y/n said as she let herself fall back down against the concrete.
“I wasn’t going to cause any trouble, you know? My little sister is a fan of Billie Eilish and I knew she was going to be here tonight, I was just gonna get a message and a hoodie signed for her. I wasn’t even going to steal anything this time.” Y/n admitted and Wanda let out a huff, turning away and going over to the ledge, sitting on it and letting her legs dangle off the edge.
Y/n got up and slowly approached Wanda, leaving a large gap between the two before sitting down right next to her.
“I had something different planned for you.” Y/n mumbled, causing Wanda to turn to her in confusion.
“Based on everyone that was sent after me, I knew that it was only a matter of time before the terrible twos came after me. So I prepared something in case you and your brother tried to get me, which you guys did.” Y/n said, and at that moment, Pietro in the suit whizzed past them again. Wanda let out a sigh, knowing that her brother was going to get a really bad headache in the morning because of that.
“For one of the most paranoid men on Earth who has literally every powerful person as an enemy, it was surprisingly easy to pop in and out of his basement. He should really work on that, it’s concerning how easy it was for me to get that suit.” Y/n said and Wanda let out a sigh, adding that as another mental note to bring up with the team along with what Y/n revealed about the government earlier.
“I’m guessing you seducing me was what you had planned for me then?” Wanda asked in a bitter tone, looking down as her cheeks turned red in embarrassment.
God, how could she let that happen? All the jokes, the sneaking off, Wanda should have known the second she spoke to Y/n that she was Blink. The signs were there, and she just couldn’t see it because she was so enamored with the thought of spending a night for herself and letting herself have fun. Turns out, she was only a way for Y/n to have fun.
The entire thing was a sick game masterminded by Y/n, which probably wasn’t even Blink’s real name. It was the most embarrassing thing that could have ever happened to Wanda. She was an Avenger and she let herself get so easily tempted at the first sign of an escape. She was supposed to be one of the world’s greatest defenders, yet she let herself get caught in such a typical trap.
“I didn’t plan for that to happen at all.” Wanda snapped out of her thoughts and turned back to Y/n with wide eyes of disbelief. Y/n was looking down and fiddling with her fingers.
“I stole Spidey’s web shooters when he went after me, and I had this plan to leave you hanging upside down and spinning around from the roof like a helicopter where everyone was going to have dinner.” Y/n said while reaching into her pocket and pulling out a web shooter, attaching it onto her wrist and shooting out a string of web into the air to prove it.
“But the time came and… I realized I didn’t want to do all that. I just wanted to keep talking to you because you laughed at my jokes and people don’t usually like my jokes.” Y/n said, looking off with a distant look in her eyes before turning to Wanda, feeling her heart warm up as she remembered all the ways she was able to make the woman laugh and smile.
“People don’t usually like me.” Y/n admitted with a hurt look on her face as she shifted her gaze back down to her hands.
Wanda felt incredibly conflicted after hearing everything Y/n said. She sounded like she was telling the truth, but how was she supposed to believe anything that came out of Y/n’s mouth after finding out that the entire time, Y/n was lying about who she was.
She said it herself, she knew that the Avengers were going to be coming after her that night, so she knew why Wanda was there in the first place, and she still pretended to be someone else. Even then, she continued to go through with kissing her and everything that came after that.
Then again, if Y/n had told her she was Blink during any moment of their interactions, Wanda most likely would’ve gone into offense the moment she did. But that didn’t make Y/n lying excusable. Even if Y/n was telling the truth, Wanda still felt like she was being played for a fool.
“Take me down.” Wanda said, needing more time to think about everything that happened, but she couldn’t do that with Y/n sitting right next to her and overwhelming all of her senses.
“Yeah, that’s fair.” Y/n said with a sigh as she placed her hand on Wanda’s shoulder and portalled them back down to the ground.
Wanda looked around to where she was taken, seeing that she was right outside of Central Park. She turned back to Y/n who reached into her cleavage and Wanda had to try her hardest not to stare at the action, but ultimately failed. Y/n raised an eyebrow in question when she saw where Wanda’s eyes were, causing Wanda to quickly turn away, missing the small smile that made its way onto Y/n’s face.
Turns out, Y/n was grabbing a key and once she had gotten it into her hands, she gently grabbed Wanda’s wrists and unlocked the mechanism keeping her hands together.
“Here, keep it.” Y/n said, throwing the key in the air which Wanda quickly caught.
“For what it’s worth, the offer to come see me is still up for grabs.” Y/n said with a grin, all of the vulnerability from earlier leaving her body, quickly replaced by her usual confidence and cheekiness.
“For someone who probably gets a busted lip every week from fighting, you are one hell of a kisser.” Y/n winked at Wanda, making the woman’s cheeks turn red.
Wanda watched as Y/n gave her a salute before letting herself fall backwards to the ground. Right before Y/n’s body met the pavement, a portal opened up from the ground, and she was gone. Wanda let out a deep breath as the entire night’s events replayed in her head.
Getting back to the compound through Uber alone was an incredibly tiring, and also expensive, experience. It gave a lot of time for Wanda to think, but even then, she still didn’t know how she felt about the entire thing other than she was exhausted.
When she walked back into the compound, everybody was waiting by the main area with incredibly tense and concerned body language and expressions. They immediately stood to attention at the sound of the door being open, becoming shocked to see Wanda looking perfectly normal save for the extremely messy hair that got ruined from the wind when she was on top of the Empire State Building.
“Why the hell does she look normal?” Natasha complained as she sat back down, hand subconsciously going back to her forehead again.
“Wanda, where’s your brother?” Steve asked in concern, and Wanda opened her mouth to respond when the sound of screaming slowly started making its way into the room.
Then, an Iron Man suit came crashing into the compound, sending glass shattering everywhere as the tiles shattered open from the impact of the suit landing on the ground.
“Don’t puke in the—” The sound of Pietro vomiting reached their ears, causing Tony to sigh and drag his hand down his face in frustration. “—And there it is.”
Blink had bested them once again.
