Derek had been getting to the best part of the book. He was enthralled by everything that was happening, and he was about to find out who had committed the crime. Just as he was about to turn the page, he couldn’t help but notice somebody staring at him. Looking up, he saw Emily standing there. “Hello Prentiss,” he said with a small smile. “Can I help you with something?”

Emily was smiling. “don’t move your leg.” She said, it was her day off but she’d come in to drop some paper work off for Hotch before taking Matthew to the doctor’s Matthew had seemed to decide Derek’s leg was a nice place to pull himself to a stand, the chubby baby hands grabbed Derek’s jeans and he pulled himself up, Matthew’s big blue eyes looked back towards Emily and he grinned. “Good job baby!” SHe smiled. “Sorry I just wanted to see what he would do.” She came over and scooped up the baby kissing his cheeks. “We didn’t mean to bother you.”

Derek didn't know what she was going on about, but he kept still. He felt something tugging on his pants and couldn't help but look down, noticing the little boy who was pulling himself up. A smile spread across Morgan's face as he closed his book, and continued to watch Matthew as he managed to pull himself into a standing position. "You're fine, Prentiss. Don't worry about it." Standing up, he set his book down and held his hands out for the kid. "Can I hold him?" he asked, grin still in place. "And you aren't bothering me. It's fine."

With a sigh, she shook her head and adjusted her purse strap. Typical of Aaron to put other business in front of his son. Shaking her head, she frowned and looked at Derek. “Thank you, Derek. Can you tell him I’ll be at home when he gets back?”

Derek gave a small smile to the lady in front of him, knowing she wasn't always happy with how Hotch prioritized. "Of course. I'll make sure he gets the message. Tell Jack his Uncle Derek says hi for me."

"I can go call him," he said, heading towards his desk to grab his phone, and dialing Hotch's number. After explaining the situation, he headed back to Haley. "He said to tell you he'd be here as soon as he could, but he's in the middle of something."
