Only two minutes pass when Izumi and Itaru leave the building again, the man looking like he's on the verge of tears while the woman looks like she's going to kick someone in the face.
Tasuku, Tsumugi, and Citron stand up from the bench they were sitting on to prepare themselves for the waterworks, but nothing comes.
"I'm assuming it went poor—" the tallest member of the troupe doesn't get to finish his sentence before Izumi has the front of his shirt twisted in her hand, a deathly glare in her eyes.
"Tasuku," she says calmly, "what did you say this centre was?"
He sweatdrops. Tsumugi and Citron glance at each other curiously.
"...An adoption centre." Tasuku answers slowly. He has no idea why he feels like he's going to die right now, but he takes the tightening of Izumi's fist as a hint.
He doesn't know what else to say since it looks like he's given the wrong answer, and he flickers his gaze up to ask Itaru for help but the blond has his face buried in his arm to hide his presumable tears.
Izumi waits. Patiently. She waits until Tasuku's eyes roam the front of the building, looks through the glass windows with his perfect vision. It's only then that Tasuku understands the situation and his mouth falls open in shock, his breath coming to a stop.
And it sounds like Tsumugi and Citron figure it out too because everyone can hear how the blue-haired man gasps, can hear how Citron speaks a litany of curses under his breath.
"We're trying to find an agency that will help us adopt Sakuya," Izumi rumbles, peach coloured eyes filled with incredulity. "and you send us to an adoption centre for pets?"
And it's when Izumi utters the last word that Itaru bursts into tearful laughter, his knees buckling and bringing him down to the pavement.
He's stuck between a helpless sob and a high pitched laugh and Citron can't help but turn away with a hand on his mouth to hide the smile that was creeping up, Tsumugi covering his face with both of his hands.
Tasuku doesn't have enough time to apologize before Izumi's dragging him down into a headlock, and Itaru only laughs harder when she calls Tasuku a dumb bitch.
