in which, Y/N Crosby, wife of Sidney Crosby, has an affair with New Yorks finest. Mat Barzal.
pairing: Sidney Crosby x wife!reader / Mat Barzal x fem!reader
triggers: infidelity, curse words, smut (18+!!! MINORS DNI), hockey injuries (nothing too brutal), the NHL playoffs (i think it's a valid warning).

This was something you never wanted to do. Something you vowed you wouldn’t do. Vowing nearly five years ago to the date that you would never cheat on your spouse. It was something that people frowned upon, despised. Once you take the vow it is never to be broken. But damn...it had to be another hockey player, didn’t it? Well. Let’s start from the beginning.
“Sid...you just don’t understand.” you sighed, sitting across from him at the kitchen table. He was picking away at the dinner you had made just for him. “I understand that you can’t spend every waking second with me. Frankly if you did I'd be sick of you,” Sidney looked up at you from across the wooden table with dark eyes and an annoyed expression on his face.
“What’s your point, Y/N?” Sidney asked before taking a bite of now lukewarm fettuccine alfredo in his mouth. Drawing shapes on the dark wood of the table with his fingers, you tried your best not to boil over.
“You don’t pay attention to me, Sidney. I understand hockey, I knew that when I was getting into a relationship with you but shit, it’s like the only time you talk to me is when we’re eating dinner.” Sidney listened to you speak, and tuned out a majority of your words. He’d been feeling drained, not just because of hockey and what the demanding season had to offer, but because of what life was doing to him.
His bones were aching, his joints were tightening. His thirty three, almost thirty four year old body had been letting him know that the hour glass was almost out of sand. He was reminded of his age every time that he looked in the mirror. He saw specks of gray on his head and in his beard.
“Do you understand what I'm saying Sidney?” he nodded his head, even though he didn’t listen to a word you said. He stood up and took his bowl to the kitchen, scooping his food back into the still warm pot you had made it in. He started to pick the kitchen up a little, placing some things in the dishwasher as he turned the TV on to the NHL network. Feeling ignored you sighed, going to put your food in a tupperware container and setting it in the fridge.
Trekking upstairs with heavy feet you start to pack your bags for your work trip over the weekend. Your job called you to spend a third of your time in New York, which when you first started your job you didn’t like it. That was when it was still good with Sid. When he was still excited to come home and give his sweet wife a kiss, spend time with her and ask her about her day.
Now you look forward to them. You have something to do, a reason to get out of the house. A reason that isn't to “get away from your husband”. When you used to dread the nearly eight hour drive you now enjoy it. Sidney tried to convince you not to work, telling you that you didn’t need to. But you wanted to work. Being cooped up at the house isn’t something you wanted to do, it wasn’t fun. You needed interaction with other adults your age. There was only so much hockey you could take. So, you decided to put your degree to work.
Working for a company out of New York that helps with communications across the tristate area in assisting with first responders calls, you enjoyed it. It gave you something to put your effort into, it gave your brain a little exercise. It also enlightened you as to how many first responders calls there are in just an hour in New York City alone. Although it was a pretty scary realization, it opened your eyes to see that it wasn’t just you who lived in the world. Being a trophy wife can do that to a person.
Folding your clothes into the suitcase you set out an outfit to wear for the drive up in the morning. You heard the heavy footsteps of your husband come into the bathroom and into the closet. He used to come up behind you to give you a kiss and a hug, whisper something provocative in your ear and you’d end up making love on the sink.
Maybe it’s because I'm getting older, you thought to yourself. Sure, you weren't the fit twenty three year old college student that you were when you met him. Your bones cracked a little more and every now and then you’d spot a gray hair that you would just pull out as soon as it was spotted. You were just a couple years younger than Sidney. It’s not like you were over forty or something. It did put a damper on your self confidence though, your husband not finding you as desirable as he did when you first got together. As years went on the sex drive, at least on his part, went further down the drain.
“I thought about getting an apartment in New York,” you mentioned as Sidney changed clothes. His face contorted in confusion. He ran a hand through his short hair as he walked past you, out of the closet and into the bathroom to brush his teeth. “Why?”
You sighed. Continuing to fold your clothes you set them in your suitcase as you explained your reasons. “Because...I'm tired of spending five hundred dollars every other week on a hotel. And plus I would like to have some place that feels like home. Make it my own. I mean, you of all people should understand that hotels can get old very quickly.”
Sidney looks at you through the mirror as he spits the toothpaste in the sink. Rinsing his mouth he turned around to face you, “do I need to go with you?” you tried to hold yourself back from laughing. This is how Sidney had been acting as of late. Careless. The question he asked was rhetorical, if you said that you did need him he would have found an excuse not to go. If you knew that his schedule wasn’t so tight, you would have thought he had a mistress.
“No, Sidney. I am perfectly capable of buying an apartment by myself.” Sidney shrugged his shoulders and turned around and went to bed. You watched him as he robotically walked away from you. The once loving, charming, charismatic and loveable man you once knew, the one you married had gone away.
A few minutes later you joined him in bed. Not the way a wife normally would join her husband in bed. You just slipped in and stayed on your side, about a foot and a half of space in between you. Sidney used to keep the bed so warm but now the bed is cold and empty. Anytime you got cold at night all you had to do was move over a couple of inches and your personal heater was right there for you.
He used to kiss you goodnight too. Whether it was on the forehead, the cheek or the lips, he would always kiss you goodnight. Now you’re lucky if he remembers to tell you goodnight. You wouldn’t go as far to say that Sidney is a bad husband. Because he isn't, he's done so many things for you and your relationship that you couldn’t thank him enough for. He’s put you first before hockey numerous times.
But it still doesn’t explain why he’s neglected you for the past three and a half months.
“Are you okay?” you asked, sitting up straight in bed after plugging in your phone. He didn’t roll over, he didn’t say anything. Only when you shook him a little did he respond. “Yes, I'm fine. Why?”
You shrugged and fell back against the mattress. “You’ve been...off, for the past few months. I’m just wondering if something is going on that you need to talk about.” Sidney rolls over onto his back and stares up at the ceiling, then over at you. You know what he’s thinking, and you’re thinking the same thing.
“Is this because we haven’t fucked in two weeks?” there it was. The question that had been burning in his head for the past few minutes. You scoffed and turned over on your side so that Sidney was now facing your back. He pulled you onto your back again and sat up, “because if it is let’s just get it over with now-” he interrupts himself by turning around to grab a condom out of the drawer.
“Sidney no, it’s not. It’s what I talked about at dinner. Us not spending time with each other. Not everything has to be about sex, and not everything can be fixed with sex. I just…” you took a deep breath, trying to hold back tears from anger as you gathered your poise. “I just want satisfaction. And not the sexual kind.”
Sidney pouts and turns over, pulling the covers on top of his shoulders. “Well if you want satisfaction, go find some.”

When you woke up Sidney had already started his morning routine. This was something else you longed for, mornings with your husband. Sidney likes to sleep in when he can. He used to pull you back into bed, place a kiss on your neck and beg for five more minutes. Now he lets you be.
Before Sidney left for the arena he came into the bedroom to give you a kiss goodbye. “Be safe,” he said, placing a soft kiss on your forehead. You contorted your face due to the scruff rubbing against your soft skin. You’d try to give him one back but he pulled away too fast, already turned around and headed to the front door.
Putting your feelings on hold you changed clothes and loaded up your car to get ready for your eight hour trip to New York. On your way out of Pittsburgh you passed by the arena. When you first started your travels you’d pass by and smile, but now when you drive by your heart sinks, and you press on the gas a little.
Sidney didn’t like New York. He didn’t like you working in New York. “I’d rather you work in Philadelphia, I hate New York,” he argued. Personally, you didn’t give a fuck what your husband thought of you working. You enjoyed it, it gave you something to do and worry about. It distracts you. It satisfied you.
You listened to your favorite radio station as you drove through the city, guiding your way through the early morning traffic. The two different people had a conversation about different things going on in the area, and as eight am hit the conversation switched from weather and news to sports. “Sidney Crosby and the Penguins host the New York Islanders in four days....Mark how do you think they’re gonna do? What’s your prediction?”
It made you gag. And you felt awful for it. This was now the eleventh playoffs you’ve been with Sidney and this was the first one you didn’t care about. Was it just because you were still salty about the fight you had last night? You had to sit for a moment and take a minute to think about your feelings. Sure, you’ve had your moments with Sidney where he wasn’t your most favorite person in the world but...you still hadn’t ever gotten sick at the mention of your husband's name before.
“Honestly John? I’m going Pens in 4. Series sweep,” the radio announcers say. Just as you were about to turn the radio station off they changed the subject, leaving you content. Exiting the traffic you got onto the interstate and started to make your way to Philadelphia where you would then get on the turnpike and go to New York.
The drive was simple from here on out. About this time you’d expect a phone call or text from Sidney, but he was nowhere to be heard of. This is another thing that has been a turnoff lately. He wasn’t communicating with you as much. At first you’d blame the chaos of the playoffs, Sidney shifting his focus to that during this time of the year.
But even before this, Sidney still gave you attention. Even last year he would arrange flowers to be sent to you while he was in the bubble. He still gave you attention. Why is everything changing now? Again if his schedule wasn’t so tight, you’d think he was cheating on you.
Pulling into a gas station outside of Philadelphia you called Sidney. Sighing as it went to voicemail you left him a message, telling him that you were halfway there. You started rambling into the message but quickly cut yourself off- he’s not gonna listen to all of this, you thought to yourself.
But alas you drove through the states as you listened to various podcasts and radio stations. Stopping for lunch, texting Sidney even though you knew he wouldn't bother to text back. The feeling of angst towards your husband just won't go away. You figured it would pass after you got a good night's rest, but it never did. You woke up in a bad mood and now you are driving to the city in a bad mood. A never ending cycle.
After eight long hours of driving, getting mad at people who in your mind shouldn’t have a driver's license, you finally made it to New York City. checking into the hotel that you booked for yourself earlier in the week, Valet parked your car while you ventured upstairs through the elevator.
“Good evening miss,” one of the cleaning ladies greeted. You’d spent so much time here at this hotel, on this floor, in this room, that the people who work here know you by now. One of the managers at the front desk probably knows your home address and phone number by now.
When you get to the room you face plant onto the bed. Why were you so exhausted? Sure, you did drive eight hours, but you shouldn’t be this tired. Pulling out your phone you check your messages, hoping to find one from your husband. But alas, you got nothing. No text, no call, no voicemail. Texting your husband to let him know you had arrived safely and asking him to call when he could, you ordered yourself some dinner from room service.
As you distracted yourself throughout dinner you looked for apartments in the nearby area. You worked for a company based off of the Island that helped first responders. Your work was to help make sure that the data was correct and to help make the first responders' job a little easier when mapping out calls. Though it was diligent work, you liked it. You liked the feeling of helping out a community.
You found several apartments close to your office that were in your price range. One of them had a great view of the city, and the other had a great view of the island itself. Looking more into the details of the apartments you decided on the one that had a view of the city. Placing a bid on the apartment you closed your laptop and finished up dinner.
-
“Hey Sid, just wanted to let you know that I bought an apartment. It’s not too far from the office, about ten to fifteen minutes in walking distance. I figured you’d be at practice by now, or at least on your way there. Call me when you get a chance, I love you.”
You don’t know why you were shocked that Sidney didn’t answer his phone. Lately it’s like he didn’t even have one. You’ve been backtracking for as long as you could think to backtrack, racking your brain to try and figure out why your husband has decided to, as the kids call it, ghost you.
When you bought the apartment it was already furnished- some of the designs weren’t your style but it wasn’t that big of a deal. You figured that since you would only be there just a few days out of the month it wouldn’t have made that big of a difference.
As you stand in your new apartment, you take a deep breath. Wishing that your husband was here to help you out a little, you huff and set your bags down. The mattress you ordered this morning should arrive later in the day, and the groceries according to the app are on their way. So now, you have to get adjusted to the new place.
It didn’t quite feel like home but if you were being honest, neither did the house you had in Pittsburgh.
Unloading the groceries when they arrived, you tipped the person generously and gave them a warm smile. You looked down the hall and saw a relatively tall man headed your direction. You didn’t give it much thought, but it wasn’t until he was standing right in front of you that you got a good look at him. “Here let me help,” he said. His accent was anything but New York- it was canadian.
“Oh you don’t have to do that,” you replied as you stood straight up. The man shook his head and looked up at you, giving you a warm smile. And it was in that moment, you swore your life was a movie. Mat Barzal, the player who’s been causing your husband and his team hell for the entire season, was standing right across from you. “No it’s okay, I'm positive.”
You stepped aside and let him carry two bags inside your apartment. Did he know who you were?
He set two of the bags down onto your counter and you followed him. Tuning around you each gave each other a warm smile, “I’m Mat, I'm assuming you just moved in?” he shook your hand and then took them back, sliding them back into the pockets of his joggers.
“Yeah, yeah I did. I’m Y/N by the way, nice to meet you.” he stepped back, giving you some space. He’s aware that his presence can be a little intimidating. “Sorry if I'm staring, you just look really familiar.” you said with a nervous chuckle. He really doesn’t know who i am.
“That’s okay, sounds weird but i’m used to it. I play hockey for the Isles here,” Mat confirmed. You nodded your head and grinned. You didn’t want to sound like an entitled bitch, but you were a little shocked that he didn’t know who you were. But, it’s not like you walked around with a t shirt that said ‘I'm Sidney Crosby's wife!’
“That’s where I've seen you. Hate to break it to you, but I'm a Pens fan.” he threw his head back and dramatically sighed, some hair flopping around as he did so. Picking his head back up he licked his lips and grinned down at you, “and just when I thought we were getting somewhere.”
You felt butterflies flutter around in your stomach. It had been so long since you’ve been flirted with, it made you feel young again. Young like a teenager who’s sitting across from her crush. It's hard to believe that the hot shot, Mat Barzal, is giving you the time of day. Maybe rumors were true and he did like older women.
“Well I actually have to get back to work, but thanks for helping me bring my stuff in.” you excused, rubbing your hands up and down your thighs nervously. He turned around and started to head back to the front door.
“Of course, if you need anything I'm in two fifteen, so just right down the hall.” he said as he opened the door. You said your thank you’s and closed the door behind him. Leaning against the wall you closed your eyes as an indescribable feeling washed over you. It was equivalent to how it feels when you get asked out to prom, or when your crush tells you that you’re pretty. Something you hadn’t been told in God knows how long.
Shaking your head and distracting yourself from these feelings, you do as you said you would and get back to work. Grabbing a bottle of water out of the plastic case you walked to the kitchen table where you had your computer and binders already set up. Logging onto the website for work you begin, starting where your coworker left off.
Typing through, writing notes, and texting back and forth with your coworkers making sure that you get a hang of everything, you successfully finish your work for the rest of the day. When your mind was focused you were able to get a lot of things done in a relatively short period of time. Maybe that’s why you and Sid worked so well together; both of you were mature and worked well under pressure.
Speaking of Sidney, he has yet to confirm his existence. He hasn’t texted or called you back. Now you’re forced to be a stalker wife and text Geno just to make sure he is okay. He texts you back within a few minutes and lets you know that he’s okay. You sighed, thinking to yourself how this isn’t how a marriage should work.
But you don’t want to pity yourself so instead you clean up the area where you worked for a solid four hours and go to the kitchen to make yourself something to eat. Pulling out some bread and some meat out you make yourself a sandwich to tide yourself over until dinner.
It’s not long before your mattress arrives. They were nice enough to bring the box inside for you, but had to leave so that left you to set it up all by yourself. Unless, the famed Mat Barzal was home. With whatever confidence you had inside you, you strutted down the hall to find apartment 215.
Knocking on the door it swung open a few moments later. Mat leaned against the doorframe and gave you a cocky grin, puffing his chest out a little as he titled his head. God, why’d he have to be so sexy? Even as a married woman you have to admit, window shopping can be treacherous.
“Sorry to bother you, I don't know if you’re busy but my mattress just got delivered and I was wondering if you could help me set it up? If you’re occupied don’t worry about it.” he shook his head as he turned around and slid some vans onto his sock covered feet.
“Yeah, it’s no bother at all. Anything for a pretty girl,” Mat winked at you and you could have swore you saw stars for a moment.
He walked with you down the hall towards your own apartment building. You felt small compared to him, though he wasn’t the tallest man you’ve met, he was muscular. Again, he’s not the most impressive man you’ve met, but as of right now? He’s the most attractive.
“It’s not very big and I don't think it’s that heavy, I just didn’t wanna do it by myself.” you explained while he followed you back to the bedroom. The room wasn’t anything fancy and neither was the furniture. The bedframe was already there, it had a few bolts loose but it would do the job.
Mat helped you unfold the mattress and set it on top of the bed, putting the sheets and pillow cases on. You tried not to get too flustered at the grunts he made while lifting up the mattress, and if you were being honest you thought he was doing it just for show. In your opinion the mattress wasn’t that heavy, and it shouldn’t be that heavy for a professional athlete...right?
Just as he was about to leave, you decided to be bold. To break a rule, an unspoken rule. “I was actually about to have dinner, you’re welcome to stay if you want. It’s just pizza, but if that’s not on your diet you don’t have to stay.”
Mat happily accepted your offer. With a cocky smile he sat next to you on the loveseat and ate dinner with you while watching whatever was on tv. You weren’t too focused about what was going on in the Kardashian world, you were more concerned about the athlete of a man sitting next to you. Why did Mat specifically have such an impact on you? It’s not like you haven’t met a plethora of players before. Why Mat?
Not wanting to give up your identity you asked questions that seemed fitting...for a first date. “So, what’s it like being a hockey player?”
Setting the plate down on the table in front of you, Mat turned his body to face you better. Leaning his head on the arm that was propped up by the back of the couch. His soft, but yet deep brown eyes burned holes into your body. He took generous looks down the v-neck you had on, much like he did earlier in the day.
“It’s not too bad. Not much time for a love life,” Mat started. You hoped he didn’t notice the way your eyes lit up and how you agreed with him by a quiet hum. He was right on the love life part. “But I love my job so it’s worth it.”
He takes a healthy swig of wine, finishing off the glass before setting it back down on the table in front of him. The way he looked at you was something out of a movie. Mat looked at you like you were some type of supermodel on the runway. Maybe it was the wine, maybe it was the six am practice or the fact that he just broke his diet, but he looked at you like you hung the moon. And in his mind, you definitely did.
“Can I kiss you?” Mat asked daringly. You knew it was wrong. You knew that this was the part where you say no, that you’re married, and then send him off down the hall where he came from. But...damn. Everything about him was a turn on for you, who were you to say no? After all, it was just a kiss. Right?
You nodded your head, “yeah, yeah you can,” and answered him with a soft voice. Mat took the glass from your hand and set it down next to his. Placing his hands softly on your hips Mat carefully pulled you on his lap. You felt like a virgin- what do I do with my hands?
Mat’s eyes slowly went back and forth from looking into yours and taking in the detail of your lips. He took notice of some soft freckles that were splayed along your nose, he saw a light scar on your chin, and he spotted a couple of other blemishes along your cheeks. Bringing a hand up to cup your cheek he leaned in and pressed his lips against yours. The pads of his fingers were rough and calloused against your skin but his lips were soft and sweet against yours.
Closing your eyes you let your body relax in his touch. Like out of muscle memory one of your hands went to play with the back of Mat’s hair. You didn’t tug on it, but you ran your fingers through it. You made a mental note to ask what type of shampoo he used, because the boy had soft hair.
Mat deepened the kiss as one of his hands held a firm grip on your waist. He didn’t know what he was and wasn’t allowed to do yet; he was willing to let you control the pace. But if things didn’t escalate soon he was going to pull his hair out. Or, maybe ask you to pull his hair for him.
Letting his tongue slip in your mouth he nearly died when he felt your lips wrap around his tongue for a moment. Letting it slide back into your mouth you lightly ground your hips over his. Mat relaxed further into the couch as he started to get more aroused. His grip on your hip got tighter and so did his sweatpants.
You pulled away for a breath, but Mat reached in to press kisses on your neck, just underneath your jaw. His hands snuck underneath your shirt and lightly scratched at your soft skin. You gasped, your head falling backward as he lightly nipped at your skin.
“Can we, fuck,” Mat breathed out as he felt your body grind closer to his. “If you want to, can we move this somewhere else?” Mat asked in between hot pants and warm kisses.
This was the part where you are supposed to say “no, I'm married, please leave”. This is the part where you reject him and tell him to leave, but he had such an effect on you. Something indescribable. Maybe it was the way he asked to kiss you, or the way that he looked at you right before he kissed you. Or maybe it was the fact that you can’t remember the last time you had good sex, a good kiss, or even a good hug by a man.
And Mat Barzal was a man. He wasn’t the tallest, he wasn’t the biggest, and some would say that he wasn’t the most attractive, but he was a man. You would be a liar if you said that he took your attention away from your husband every time they played against each other. Hell, every time he stepped on the ice everyone's eyes were on him whether they were wearing the orange and blue or not.
Picking you up without ease Mat took you back to your bedroom where he set you down on the bed like you were a piece of china. He played with the hem of your pants before sliding them down your body, kissing the tops of your thighs as he did so. Tossing the material on the ground he sunk to his knees, hooking your legs over his shoulders. “What are you doing?” you asked, propping yourself up on your knees.
“Well, I was gonna eat you out, but if you don’t want me to I can do something else.” Mat answered. Shaking your head you stuttered over your words for a moment.
“No, no it’s just...been a while, sorry. I also haven’t shaved in a couple days so it’s not perfect.” Mat shook his head and then hooked his fingers inside your panties to drag them off your body. “Looks perfect to me babe,” he commented. His voice was calming, it was low but soft. He had a nice and smooth tone when he spoke.
Mat pressed a soft kiss to your folds right before diving in. looking up at you through his long eyelashes you swore you saw heaven, or at least felt it. He swiped his tongue over your warm pussy and you fell back against the soft bed. Closing your eyes you let ecstasy wash over your body.
Mat’s large hands spread out along your thighs as he hugged them closer to his body. Licking through your folds and getting a taste of the sweet nectar that poured out from you, Mat felt blood rush south. He’d never gotten aroused from eating a girl out before so this was a first for him.
He went back and forth from fucking his tongue in and out of you to swiping it through your folds. He took his time getting to know you through your cunt, just like Harry Styles said.
His mouth made out with your pussy for a while and it made your entire body tingle. His tongue lapped at you, sipping up the nectar that flowed from you. Wrapping his plump lips around your clit Mat sucked at the sensitive bud, causing you to arch your back and tug on his hair a little. Just how he liked it.
Mat smiled shyly as he pulled away right before your orgasm. Just as you were about to protest, Mat licked two of his fingers right before sliding them inside you. His fingers were long and thick, and they fit inside you perfectly. He slowly pumped his fingers in and out of you at a slow pace, letting you get adjusted before he decided to do more.
He licked at the spot right above your hole as he continued to pump his fingers in and out of you. You felt your climax start to build up again as he circled your clit with his tongue. His digits worked just right as they brushed up against your g-spot. He felt your warm walls clench around his two fingers as he pumped them faster. Tightening your grip on his hair he sucked on your clit and that’s what sent you over the edge.
You let out moans and tugged at his hair as he sucked at your core and inserted his fingers in and out of you. He finger-fucked you through your orgasm and he pulled his mouth away. His eyes started burning holes into your body again as he started to slow the pace of his hand. Pulling out his fingers, he watched your chest rise and fall as he sucked the essence off of his hand. “Fuck babe...you taste so sweet.”
There was something about the way that babe sounded so natural coming off his tongue. It sounded like he’d been calling you babe for years, when you didn’t know him at all. The only encounter you’d had with him was hundreds of feet away as he skated on the ice and you faithfully watched your husband. You’d known Sidney for years, and you did not know Mat at all.
Not wanting to make you feel vulnerable, Mat stood up to take off his shirt and pants. God, it was a sight to truly see. He was probably the most ripped man you’ve ever seen in person. Everywhere you looked, his body was pure muscle- it looked like he’d never touched a cheeseburger in his life.
“Like what you see?” he teased, pushing you further back on the bed. You propped yourself up on your elbows and pulled him down for a kiss. Mat, wanting to impress you, put his hands on either side of the v-neck collar and tugged as hard as he could, ripping the fabric in half. “That was a gift,” you said as he pulled it down the material and threw it behind you onto the carpeted floor.
“Really? That’s what you’re worried about right now?” he teased as his fingers traced the outline of your body. Leaning down to press a light kiss in between your breasts his hands slid underneath you to unclasp your bra. Popping it open he tore it off and like a teenager stared at your breasts for just a few seconds too long. “Like what you see?” you clapped back.
He nodded his head eagerly as he leaned down to press open mouthed kisses on your breasts. His hands traced the outline of your body as he left transparent love bites and kisses on your boobs. He felt your body grind up into his and he let out a soft moan.
Mat waited until he couldn’t take the burn in his underwear any longer to make his initial move. “Wait-” he stopped himself before moving any further. “I don’t have any condoms with me, just wait right here, hang on.”
Like some sort of love struck fool, Mathew slid his boxers back on and ran out of the room and out of your new apartment. Jogging down to his own apartment he opened the door and shuffled through drawers to look for a silver packet. Finally after ravaging through about four different hideaway spots he found one. He then ran back down to your apartment to find you in the exact same spot where he left you. “So sorry about that,” he said while pulling his boxers back down his legs and then kicking them over to join the other discarded clothes.
You giggled, but the light laughter was soon replaced with a gasp. Not to put anything past your husband, but Mat had the largest asset on a man you had ever seen. And you couldn't wait to see what he could do with it, and if the rumors were true. The rumors being that Mathew Barzal was a sex god.
He noticed how you quickly went quiet and how your demeanor changed. “Are you okay?” he asked while rolling the condom onto himself. You nodded your head and forced out a “yeah” but you were contemplating how he was going to...fit.
“You’ve had sex before, right?” he asked.
“Yeah, yeah it’s just been a while.” you answered, although the answer was true, you left out a very important detail. One that you figured was just too late to add now, the man was butt naked in front of you and you were about to get laid. Why stop now?
“I’ll go at your pace if you want. There’s no need to rush, i’ve got all night.” you felt heat rush to your cheeks as he pushed you against the pillows. You propped yourself up against them and spread your legs open as wide as they would go, allowing Mat to line himself up with you. He slid the tip through your folds making your eyes roll back in his head. Circling your clit with the thick tip of his dick, Mat then lined himself with your hole and slowly slid inside.
His head fell back and his muscles tensed up as he let out a deep moan, “fuck you’re tight,” he said through gritted teeth. He pulled you closer to him by your thighs which also allowed him to get deeper inside you. One of your hands rested on his muscular thigh while his hands kept their place on your hips.
He started thrusting at a slow pace, his eyes were shut as he was focusing more on trying not to cum right away. He wasn’t going to admit it, but he hadn’t gotten laid in a while too.
He swallowed his thoughts and then leaned down to press kisses to your skin, first around your collarbone and then around your neck. He started thrusting faster and as he did you started to clench around him. He moaned into your neck and gritted his teeth again, “fuck,” he whined out while keeping his steady thrusts. “If you do that again I'll cum,” he raised up for a moment to adjust your position and then started moving again.
When he started thrusting you felt him hit your g-spot and you let out the loudest moan of the night so far. Your nails were digging into the soft skin of his back, your heels were too so that he would be kept in his place. He thrusted harder inside you, hitting that special spot inside of you every time. With every thrust he gave you, in return you moaned and left marks on his back for him to be teased about later.
Soon you felt your eyes roll back in your head for what seems to have been the tenth time tonight. You expected him to stop right there after you finished, to pull out, finish on your chest and then head back down the hall.
But he kept going. That was something that you weren't used to.
“Can I try something?” he asked, pausing his movements for a moment. You approved his request, but you weren’t expecting him to do what he was about to. He lifted your right leg up over his shoulder and even though you weren’t the most flexible person in the world, you were still able to get it up there.
He started moving again, this time at a harder pace than before. His thrusts were meant to get you onto cloud nine. Moving his hand to press down onto your stomach to feel himself slide in and out of you with ease.
Mat grazed against your g-spot again and you swore you saw heaven right then and there. He sped up as he felt you clench around him and he didn’t stop until you were a mess underneath him. Mat kept going until he couldn’t take it anymore, releasing himself into the condom. Coming down from his own high he pulled out and excused himself to your bathroom where he took the condom off and pulled his boxers back on.
“Good to know that the bed held up.”

“Alright Mark, the isles are in town and the Stanley Cup Playoffs starts tomorrow. Do you think Sid the Kid can get a fourth one starting today?”
The familiar voices of radio announcers ran through your car speakers and you felt the same feeling you did when you left town as you were driving back into town. Dread. Every season now seemed to blend together. There were only a handful that stuck out to you. It was all the same now.
Sidney leaves the house well before noon and doesn’t come back until after midnight. He then leaves for two days, then is home for two days. It feels like you rarely get to see him in the regular season, and you surely don’t see him in the playoffs. If retirement wasn’t haunting around in Sidney’s brain, it was in yours.
You pulled into your driveway just in time to see Sidney off before he was to leave for the arena. Rolling your suitcase into your house, guilt hadn’t hit you yet until you saw your husband standing there in a full piece suit ready to walk out the door.
“Hey,” he greeted softly, taking your bag from you and kissing you on the cheek, the light scruff of his early playoff beard rubbing against your skin. “I didn’t think you’d get here until later,” he commented as he took a bite of his sandwich.
“Well i didn’t get much sleep so i figured i might as well start the drive early, maybe beat some traffic.” you took a seat in the leather chair in your living room, relaxing into the cushions. He mumbled something as he walked away from you, but you were too busy staring at the framed photo from your wedding day with Sidney that was sitting on the table next to you.
“You’ll be there tonight, right?” he asked as he stood in the entryway of your house. You turned around and faced him directly, “I'm always there, aren’t i?”
He gave you a smirk and a light wink before exiting the house. You waited until you heard the car turn on and leave the driveway to scream out your frustrations. Hot tears of anger rolled down your cheeks at the realization of what you had done. Of the vow you had broken. It probably would have been fine if you had broken all the other ones, like missing a game, or supporting a different team. But this one, this is the homewrecking vow.
Instead of finding a way to fix things, you know that this is certainly not the time to break the news. To your husband or to anyone. Deciding to keep this secret to yourself you head upstairs where you take a shower and change clothes. You get in bed, but it doesn’t feel like your bed.
You can smell Sidney’s cologne on the pillows and it makes you sick. Sitting up you toss the pillows onto the ground and you turn to your side facing the window.
Not everything can be fixed in a day. Maybe it was just a one time thing. You did it and you’ll never do it again. But, maybe that’s another vow you’re going to break.

“Are you joking?” you gape at the man in front of you.
“No I am not joking y/n. I want you to come to family skate with me,” you never thought he would invite you to these kind of things. You have known William for about a year and have been dating for 7 months.
“Ok fine I’ll come. Just so you know I don’t know how to skate,” you said while walking away to get ready.
-------------------------------
“You got this y/n just come to me,” William said to y/n while skating backwards. He was trying to get you to skate towards him. Which was clearly not working because you have been in the same spot for about 5 minutes.
“I’m trying okay Willy! Maybe you shouldn’t be rushing me!” you said with frustration evident in your voice.
“Okay calm down baby it’s fine,” he said trying to calm you down. Which clearly wasn’t working very well. So he skated over to you and grabbed both of your hands and started skating backwards. You started to get the hang of it so he let go.
“Oh my god Willy I’m doing it! Watch me!”
“Yes I see you baby! Your doing so good,” Willy yelled to you from across the rink. While watching you William didn’t see Mitch come up behind him.
“Looks like she got the hang of it uh?” Mitch said while nodding his head towards you.
“Yea it took a while but we got there,” Willy said without taking his eyes off you
“They love you. I can see it in their eyes,” Mitch said which shocked William because he had never heard him be so wise.
“Yeah, I do too. I haven’t seen them smile like that in ages,” William said with a smile on his face.
"I know it's 2 in the morning but do you want to... (Sit on the porch/balcony? I need some fresh air to clear my thoughts)." With maybe Josty?

prompt: "I know it's 2 in the morning but do you want to... (Sit on the porch/balcony? I need some fresh air to clear my thoughts)."
“Please welcome your own Colorado Avalanche,” the announcer said through the speakers.
You were sitting at the glass seats that Tyson had got you. You wanted to sit in the box with the other WAGS but since it was the semi-finals game, you made an exception. You could see Tyson coming out from the tunnel. He came out with his captain and Mackinnon by his side.
The Avs were on fire tonight. They were up 5-1 against the Rangers. A hat trick by J.T and goals by Kadri and Graves. But it all came crashing down at the start of the 3rd period. You didn’t know what was happening. The Rangers just started scoring goals left to right.
You could see the boys deflate as the horn sounded indicating the end of the third period. Watching them watch the Rangers celebrate was just painful. Once the stars of the game were announced you started to make your way down to the locker room to meet Tyson. You didn’t wait for the other WAGS because you knew that he would want to go home right away.
Walking down the hallway you waited by the door. Tyson came out a couple of minutes after you got down there. You knew he wouldn’t want to talk. Today was a big loss and you understood that. So you just held his hand and walked beside him to the car.
——————————————————————————
The ride was quiet and only the music on the radio could be heard. Tyson held your hand throughout the ride home, squeezing it just to make sure you were still there. You squeezed back every time just to reassure him that you weren’t going anywhere.
“Tys?” you asked not sure how he would react. It’s not like he ever lashed out at you or yelled. You just weren’t sure and you didn’t want to start something.
“Yea y/n,” Tyson said as he put the car in park and turned towards you.
“You were great out there tonight. Don’t think just because your out of the playoffs your any worse.”
“I know y/n, I know,” he said with a shaky voice. You knew he was trying to hide his tears but you didn’t say anything. All you did was pull him into a hug. You could feel the tears roll down your shoulder as he cried.
“Hey, it’s okay. How about we go inside and sleep? Does that sound like a good idea?” you felt him nod so you took that as a yes. Grabbing his gear bag from the trunk, you walked up to the door. Taking his hand you walked up the stairs to your shared bedroom. You let him go get ready for bed while you put on a movie.
“I put on a movie Ty. How about you come and lay down with me” once you said those words he sped walk to the bed and snuggled into your chest.
—————————————————————————
You see something shaking you awake. You rolled over to meet Tyson in the eyes. Grabbing your phone to check the time you saw that it was 2 in the morning. Srunching your eyebrows you looked up at Tyson.
“Why are you up this early? Go back to bed,” you said, your voice still scratchy with sleep.
“I know it’s 2 in the morning but do you want to go sit on the balcony. I need some fresh air the clear my thoughts,” Tyson asked
“Yeah sure, come on let's go,” you said as you slipped on Tyson’s sweatshirt and your shoes.
Walking outside onto the balcony you felt the wind hit your face. It was a nice night so you could see the city from your balcony. Getting out of your thoughts you looked up at Tyson. You could tell that he has been hard on himself. He’s always hard on himself in some way or another. You always reminded him that it wasn’t his fault. But this loss has been especially hard on him.
“Am I good enough y/n? I mean I let my whole team down. We had that lead and I don’t know how we lost it. I don’t want to turn into the Maple Leafs,” you could tell he was trying to add humor into this with the last part. But you could hear his voice crack at the end.
Grabbing his hand to reassure him you said “You did your best out there tonight. Don’t forget that this is a team effort. That you weren’t the only one on the ice.” grabbing your waist Tyson pulled you in for a hug. You wrapped your arms around his waist and snuggled into the crook of his neck.
You guys stood out there watching the stars illuminate the sky until the sun started to rise. That was when you guys knew that you had been out there too long. But that was okay because you had all the time in the world to sleep now.
