Warning, long post! But very interesting story from today. So, we had a pest exterminator spray our house today and he had asked us to turn off the air filter on our fish tank for about 45 minutes. We did so, and left the house for a little too long to run some errands. We came back home to our black koi belly up in the tank. For my family, our black koi dying is usually a bad sign for us. Black koi are known to die or become sick when they absorb bad energy. We keep this guy around to monitor this. This is the 2nd black koi we've owned. When we lost our first one, my Grandmother had also passed shortly after (Rest In Paradise, Nanay), so seeing our 2nd black koi go belly up was a bit frightening. My mom, brother and I had refused to let him go and believed he would make it. Using what I knew from my awesome bass fisherman brother, I passed some water through the koi's gills for about 30 minutes to get it breathing again. After about 12 hours, he was back and moving about! For those who know me and my family, you know that these koi are extremely dear to us. Seeing one go is always upsetting for my family. But a little bit of prayer and some fish-CPR goes a long way! Saved our koi and hopefully saved a life! #justkeepswimming #justkeepswimming #justkeepswimming #swimming #swimming
