I love him so much 🥹

It really touched me during the meet and greet when he answered my question about his creation process and whether creating feels more therapeutic or painful, or maybe something in between, and how he deals with that.

I'll always remember that moment because it felt so sincere and beautiful. He talked about how creating can feel therapeutic and cathartic, like slipping into a kind of automatic writing where the words just come out, as if they already belong to the line, to the couplet, like they were always meant to be there.

And sharing your art can bring painful emotions when people connect with it and their reactions reveal that they recognize something in it, sometimes shared experiences, sometimes shared trauma, that kind of connection can be beautiful, but it can also hurt.

I also made a bookmark and gave it to him, the way he held my hand, looked me in the eyes, and said “this is beautiful” meant so much to me.

He asked if i would be in Hong Kong..(sadly i won’t be able to go, but i told him some of my friends will be there and they can finally meet him.) he smiled and said, “yes, tell them i’ll be there.”

He is the best person in the world.

it still upsets me when people commenting on my posts saying Henry deserved that ending because he's a rapist.

I'm not attacking anyone, I'm just sad about the fact that Henry is deeply misunderstood. He's never actually been seen.

I do understand that people think the Mind Flayer's phallic tentacles covering the mouth implies sexual assault but before blaming Henry, you should understand that he was the first victim, the first to get flayed. And he was not controlling the Mind Flayer, not when his whole body was used as a tool, a vessel.

He resisted the Mind Flayer for decades, completely alone, on his own. And people still blame him for "joining" the monster-as if fragility and fear don't matter, as if the Mind Flayer didn't have infinitely more power (even Will can control him and break him if you do remember), as if constant manipulation, brainwashing, pain and emotional torture wouldn't break anyone.

His memories, his feelings, everything he clung to was used against him. no one can resist that forever. no one.

We've seen flayed characters do terrible things and they were still recognized as victims. but not Henry.

He's the one whose body was corrupted, occupied, turned into a tool. years in a lab-captive in a prison, physically and mentally, controlled, studied, used like a bag of blood. the Mind Flayer and the experiments consumed him.

And yet you don't care, you don't even acknowledge him as a victim.

it hurts so much to watch Henry die like that.

no nuance. no mercy. just a brutal death like “he deserved it” — i’m sorry??

it feels like nobody cared about him. not the characters, not even the creators of the show.

his backstory had so much potential for real dramatic conflict, something that could have added depth and weight to the whole story… and they just did nothing with it.

his trauma didn’t matter.

his classmates didn’t give a fuck.

no one asked what happened to him. no one seemed worried. not even curious.

when they found out it was Henry, there was no emotion. nothing. like — wasn’t he their high school classmate??? how do you just move on from that?

and what hurts the most: all those parallels.

the show keeps reminding us how Will and the other kids are loved, protected, understood. how love, trust, and connection can save someone.

but not Henry. never Henry.

as if he deserved none of it. no care. no love. no chance.

i started crying when he was in the cave — so fragile, so broken — facing his younger self. he was alone. always alone.

no one came for him. no one tried to help him.

(and what if those moments where he’s gentle with the kids aren’t just manipulation?

what if that’s Henry still in there somewhere ..giving care that he never got but always wants

or maybe it’s even crueler than that.

maybe the mind flayer is using it against him — forcing him to show kindness, forcing him to manipulate through the only thing he still has, turning his humanity into a weapon.)

and honestly?

if Henry couldn’t resist the mind flayer, maybe it’s because he didn’t have powerful happy memories ....

all he got, in the end, was a slow and painful death.

no one looking for him. no one trying to save him.

(and yes — Brenner did try to find him. and they didn’t even bother to develop that either.

the whole story literally starts with finding Henry. everything comes from that.

i truly believe the show would have been stronger if they had gone in that direction instead of giving us this ending.
