Okay, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is this newly released action/horror/narrative driven game, developed by Ninja Theory, where you play a female celtic badass warrior fighting for the soul of her dead lover.

She is a non-sexualized character, whose build is based on a real life muscular woman body type, and someone who is traumatized through her life as a warrior and thus mentally ill. (The game has been developed/created in collaboration with neuroscientists and people who experience psychosis, to ensure a sensitive/accurate portrayal of it) Which means most, if not all, of the game takes actually place in her mind only. However, it is left ambivalent how much of what you see is “real” and what just takes place in her mind.)

It is creative, different and varied game in a graphically beautiful bleak/nightmarish norse waking dream world setting, with a theme rarely explored in gaming (if ever), featuring a traumatized female protagonist/warrior that is multi-faceted and struggling, but not portrayed as a “victim of her mind.” 

So ofc you have whiny pissbabies crawling out of the deep ass end of their cave, screaming “historically inaccurate” out of the top of their hypocritical lungs:

This is a masterpiece of a game. As an artistic exploration or a traumatized psyche, a well developed and sympathetic character, a difficult and well handled theme… everything about this game quickly jettisoned it and Senua to the top of my favorite games and protagonists respectively.

The idiots negatively reviewing this game on Senua being a woman as their sole argument against it can rightly go fuck themselves. Senua’s struggle was designed to be one that we’re meant to empathize and connect with, and the longer the game went on and the more I saw her struggle and in pain, the more I kept cheering her on. The game wants you to work to see her happy and to overcome the struggle she’s going through. You want her to succeed. The game WANTS you to feel that way… and these guys completely miss that because they’re sexist pieces of shit.

This duck got himself all in a flap after inadvertently straying into the path of a giant Shoebill while heading towards water.

But it was all water off a duck’s back for the imposing 4ft tall bird which instead of eating his smaller friend, carefully picked him up in his beak and moved him aside.

Despite its fearsome reputation as a predator around water, the Shoebill seemed more concerned with completing its journey than tucking into a feathered snack.

These extraordinary pictures were captured by 51-year-old amateur photographer Mark Kay, at the San Diego Wild Animal Park in the U.S.

‘I thought the Shoebill was going to eat the duck, but soon realised he was moving him out of the way.

‘After the duck fell to the ground, he seemed flustered and just walked away. The Shoebill just carried on.’

You guys, I reblogged this 2 days ago out of desperation. Today I was looking through my old wallet for coins to go to the vending machine because that’s all I can fucking afford. I haven’t touched this thing since July/ August. When I found a disappointing 15 cents in the coin pocket I went to the billfold to see if any coins were in there. We need to help America, as a whole, understand that college is not, and should not be he only option, and that there is NO SHAME in trade school or even getting a career right out of high school.

I, personally, know plumbers making $80,000+ a year. Better than most 4 year degree workers.

We need plumbers, janitors, truck-drivers, garbage collectors, machinists, to keep this nation running smoothly. And they deserve respect for what they do.

Yay we killed our 2nd mythic boss! Elerethe! Unfortunately we looted all the loot before our screenshot, so the body despawned. Luckily, two of our raiders assisted with their drawing skills to draw me a spider corpse to photoshop in!

I am so happy with how our guild did the first week of raiding! We cleared everything on Heroic and took this nice picture with Cenarius!

Our tank DC’d in the last 20s of the Xavius encounter, so I said I would photoshop him into the picture on Cenarius’ back, since he got carried :D
