YESSSSSSSSS!
Sheena Stewart was 4 ½ months pregnant when she was pulled over in her car for allegedly not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign.
Stewart handed over her license, and was looking for the registration in the glove box when the cops’ indicated their impatience, according to the suit filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.
Officer Matthew Castellano angrily complained, “What the f—k is taking you so long?”
Stewart, 29, responded, “If you are going to continue talking to me like this, I am going to record how you are speaking to me,”
Castellano tried to yank Stewart out of the car while she was still belted in. The cop removed the seatbelt and “threw her to the ground on her pregnant stomach,” the suit alleges.
She was called a “fat bastard,” but it is unclear if Castellano or his unidentified partner made the nasty remark.
Stewart was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.
She remained handcuffed in a cell at the 121st Precinct for approximately one hour at the station before an ambulance arrived to take her to the hospital.
The charges were later dismissed. She later learned that the cops had written her up for three traffic violations.

If you had to give yourself a C-section to save your unborn baby, could you do it? This woman did it. She had no other choice: she lost a previous baby during protracted labor, and she lived in a small village eight hours drive from the nearest hospital.
Rather than experience fetal death in utero again, [the 40-year-old-woman] used her skills at slaughtering animals. She took 3 small glasses of hard liquor and, using a kitchen knife, sliced her abdomen in 3 attempts in the right paramedial region, cut the uterus itself longitudinally, and delivered a male infant that breathed immediately and cried. Apparently, she did not bleed excessively and asked one of her children to call a local nurse for help before she lost consciousness.
Both survived.
Holy mother of god.
Inez Ramirez. This became necessary when she went into labor while her husband (who assisted with her previous births) was at the local cantina. They lived in a very rural area of Mexico and did not have a phone in their own home so Inez was unable to call for help.
Lessons: women are badasses. Mother’s are fierce. Rural areas should be set up with telephones.
@la-siren gotta do what you gotta do.
Respect!
Exactly why I don’t feed into those publicized propaganda pictures of police officers driving to areas with large percentages of African Americans just to take photos of them:
- Hugging Black Children - Playing basketball with preteen Black Youth - Eating Popsicles with kids at the park - Writing on the sidewalk with chalk (bonus if there’s a little girl drawing a stick person picture of her and the officer holding hands w/ rainbows).
Reminds me of when white people go on mission trips to Africa.

im here for women who’ve survived trauma and come out of the other end furious and spitting blood and im here for women who’ve survived trauma and ended up softer and smaller and less brave and im here for women who refuse to deal with their trauma, who fuck and fight and run, and im here for women in the middle of dealing with their trauma who cry on the floor one day and feel invincible the next im here for any woman who’s experienced trauma. you’re not handling it wrongly. you’re doing your best
She is not ‘my girl.’ She belongs to herself. And I am blessed, for with all her freedom, she still comes back to me, moment-to-moment, day-by-day, night-by-night. How much more blessed can I be?
