✰ ▬ Hunter. {event}
Quite the contrary - in actuality, extreme living conditions had been the corporal’s forte, often maneuvering through outer terrains infested with creatures (specifically Titans) quadruple the size of his own body height. However familiar, grave misfortune plagued the former criminal ever since he could recollect, often forcing his hand in certain circumstances to trust in an unknown faith. By the good graces of the universe, the corporal was able to effectively skirt by without falling deathly ill or injured.
Today would be no different, so long as he did not falter in his definitively combative stance. Fingertips grasped onto the hilt of his weapon defiantly, lowering slanted, obsidian hues in visage before launching into a preemptive strike.
However, his attention would soon sway towards the individual he beckoned out towards, who seemed geared and ready for combat. Visible bruises colored his otherwise pale face, keeping his usual, stern glare in tact - regardless of the woman’s intent. Chances are, he would have to trust in this stranger if they were to escape the (obviously) bleak circumstances.
Examining the civilian before him, a brow furrowed as he watched the female propel herself into midair, cleanly striking the oversized Yeti before them. Her skill was impressive, and her weaponry was even more baffling to witness - albeit not inconceivable considering his world’s bizarre weaponry. As she poised a single question, the man looked down at the patch of ice - which seemed as if it weren’t budging. Letting loose a small sigh, he examined their rather desolate surroundings, conceding.
"Is that so? If what you’re saying is true, of course I can. We’ll be out of the line of crossfire quicker than you know."
it took a few seconds but the man did concede, fortunately for her. she could have likely used a rocket to get the two of them out of there, but she wasn't sure when she'd be able to get more ammo for the thing, and while she did have a fairly healthy supply on her person, if she wanted to survive the week she'd need the crate she had stored at her hut.
simply using a bit of fuel from a rocket to melt the ice would be far more efficient, and they'd have more maneuverability like that anyway. they had about 2 minutes before the yetis shook off their daze and started after them again.
she twisted a few knobs around, pointed the back end of the launcher into the air and fired off a test burst. perfect, a small flame shot up into the air. it should be enough to melt the ice, but at the same time, not enough to burn the man.
she pointed the back end at the device the man was wearing around his waist. "this might burn a bit." she muttered as she pressed the button. this ice melted gradually, quickly enough that it was finished before the yetis were able to attack again, but slowly enough that she was able to introduce herself
"Ikusaba Mukuro." she told him, "super high school level soldier. may I ask your name?"
