A More Profound Con

I’m so sad that it’s August and I’m not currently at @destielcon :( SOMEONE ORGANIZE A NEW ONE PLEASE I WILL WRITE U FANFIC AND BAKE U PIE.

We miss you all too! Good news is, we are still not ruling out a con for 2018, and we’ll probably begin discussing it soon.

Only now we expect pie and fanfic. ;)

We made an announcement at DestielCon 2016 that likely has already begun circulating as rumors on the internet, so we just want to A) make that announcement again for those who weren’t there and B) clarify a few things.

The Announcement

Due to the fact that several new groups have stepped up wanting to do their own local DestielCon’s, we have decided to take a step back for a year and NOT host one in Cincinnati as per normal in 2017.

Clarifications

1) This is not set in stone. These other groups are still very much in the beginning phases of everything. If, for some reason, they do not make it to lift off, we may, indeed, step back in for another DestielCon in Cincinnati. Either way, with proper staffing, we do plan to have another convention in Cincinnati, whether it is in 2017 or 2018. With 90% certainly we can say, this was not the final convention in Cincinnati.

2) For the sake of everyone’s sanity, these new branches will be called accordingly, such as DestielCon East, DestielCon West, and DestielCon Argentina. Names still buffering, check back soon.

3) We (Kelly and Jess) are not organizing these other Destiel conventions, but we will be providing support. These are separate groups, with new staff, hence the separate names and not just the venue change.

4) It is FAR EASIER to take on a role with DestielCon Original than starting up a new convention. So if you are wanting to put in that kind of work, consider stepping up and volunteering for a staff position! It’s a lot of work to be on planning staff, but it’s also incredibly worth it. Keep an eye to our blog for more information.

5) Our email is destielcon(@)gmail.com. Ask us questions, keep us in the loop, volunteer, etc, that’s the best place to reach us.

Destielcon 2016

Can I just say how happy I am to have been a part of destielcon this year??? Like I made an incredible friend @imaginary-fr13nd, saw two amazing friends from last year and the year before @bookkbaby @melamuse, and even though I couldn’t see @mnemos9, she was there in spirit. I’m just so grateful to have come and to have met so many incredible people! And the fact that I got to bring two of my best friends @avengecharlie @psychicastiel, is incredible!! I’m just so happy about this year!!!
