A cave in the side of a cliff face seemed like one of the least comfortable places to set up a secret base. From the unwelcoming exterior to the stark interior, at first glance, the area seemed like nothing much. But Benjamin had to disagree. A few rugs thrown around the floor, posters to slap on the walls and the basic furniture to liven up the cave and the base was a second home.Â
Currently lounging against the over sized Lapras plush he used as a couch, Benjamin idly scrolled through his inbox. With the message boards available in every Center, he received at least a few job requests every day. He clicked his tongue at the requests from regions away, a bit too far off for his tastes. He filtered the messages to include only those in Hoenn. As soon as he did, a new message popped up. Curiously, he pressed his finger against the request, and skimmed through the short message.Â
âFind a Pokemon? Canât be too hard.â He paused before sending a reply back. He doubted that the trainer wanted to go on a hunt for a legendary. Now that would be a bit troublesome. Fingers dancing above the keyboard for a moment, he quickly typed back.Â
âIâd be glad to be of service. Seems like youâre close by, care to meet? Iâm by the bridge on Route 120. Discuss details then.âÂ
He sent the message with a flick of his index finger and crossed his arms behind his head before laying back down. It was always a good idea to meet your client face to face to work out the details of a request, and since they would probably be working together it made it clear that meeting up would make things easier.Â
Hopping off the plush, he moved out of the wide back area of the base and through the winding hall that connected it to the front. The base had two wide areas, and the one closer to the exit he used more or less as a lobby. Stepping out of the base and into the night, he took a deep breath of the crisp air.Â
The view of the lake never ceased to amaze him. The stars glittering against the surface of the water were ethereal, just one of the reasons heâd chosen this location to set up base. Throwing out a PokeBall, the lake front rippled as Lapras splashed into the water. He hopped onto the Pokemon, and the two glided across the surface, sending the stars scattering across the surface.Â
They easily reached the ground and he left Lapras in the water, seeing as he and his client would be returning to the base to talk business. He climbed up the stairs on the edge of the lake and made his way to the bridge. Once he reached the middle he stopped, standing by the edge and decided to wait there. He peered over the side and saw that the surface of the water was settling.Â
