Hi Stephen. I'm a writer, too, and I'm inspired by your show and your blog. You are hilarious. I have written a bunch of essays over the years and performed some. I'm trying to parlay them into a TV pilot I'm writing (hard!). I guess what I want to ask is this: is it possible to be kinda lazy and still be a showrunner? I know that sounds ignorant. The answer must be no. But are you a Type A personality? Or are you kinda lazy, but you get excited to do your show?

I think the main question is why are you trying to edge yourself out of even being qualified for a job you might want in the future? That doesn’t like laziness but pre-self-sabotage. If you want the job, work towards getting it. If you ultimately are too lazy, you’ll never get there, so the question will answer itself! (Yes, you can be lazy. You just have to want to lie down but get up anyway.)
