Stik. Stik.com is a Detroit web company specializing in small business recommendations. Stik helps business-minded individuals collect, display and manage recommendations from past clients and supporters, and helps consumers find professionals recommended by their friends.
Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME). DIME is a music college like no other – custom built for serious musicians who desire a long term, professional career in modern music. The courses are designed to build strong musical foundations, that will lead to long and sustained careers in the music industry alongside gaining academic qualifications.
Sit On It Detroit. Two Wayne State University students, Kyle Bartell and Charles Molnar, noticed a lack of seating at bus stops around the city, so they decided to build some benches. Not just any benches, but ones made of reclaimed wood from demolished Detroit homes and that also have shelves to house donated books so people would have something to read while they waited. Sit On It Detroit…making the city a better place, one bench at a time.
Two James Spirits. The first licensed distillery in Detroit since Prohibition, opened in 2013 to sell their locally-made bourbon, gin and vodka. Owners David Landrum and Peter Bailey named the distillery after their late fathers — both named James — and are making small-batch spirits in a former doughnut factory and taxi repair show in Corktown, Detroit’s oldest neighborhood.
The Empowerment Plan. Veronika Scott is the CEO and founder of The Empowerment Plan, a Detroit-based non-profit that educates and employs homeless women to create coats that transform into sleeping bags, which are then given to the homeless.

We're Moving to Detroit, and So Should You. In January 2014, Lowe Campbell Ewald moved 500+ employees to a city that recently filed for bankruptcy. Why?
