Dialogue for if the Emperor has to res the player after the Orpheus fight. Who the fuck said you're allowed to be dead right now, when you could be talking. Rude.
Also the trigger instructions just because I don't know why it amused me but feels important to include:
an additionally funny part of this is that if tav is unavailable to speak, due to being either downed or dead, the emperor will choose a random party member
it felt like a raw slap in the face for it to turn to lae'zel specifically and say "thanks for the help but you're not who I want to talk to"
the thought of it dismissing lae'zel to gesture to thyneron, who was laying face down in a giant pool of his own blood,,, how could I ever be normal about how this fucking game played out
I've never understood why people can't get the Balduran/Emperor thing
To me, it's no different than my transition. I have all of her memories, her experiences, the things she loved and valued... but I am not her. And I will never be her again, even if I wanted to be
Trying to find info on something you can do in BG3 by looking at Reddit threads and Gamefaqs and it's literally insane to me how much people hate the Emperor and claim siding with him is "the bad end" or some such shit.

It’s also like… sometimes stories start out with giving you a set of negative preconceived notions about a specific kind of person in that story’s universe.
But throughout the story, there are multiple characters, events, and implications that seek to challenge those preconceived notions even while there is the usual reinforcement of those notions from other sources of the story.
Sometimes the deeper you look into the story, the more your initial assumptions will be challenged by the deliberate writing of the story itself.
Now comes the reading comprehension question: are these challenges to your initial assumptions meant to be ways of expanding your perspective on what constitutes a person through engaging with this story and perhaps deconstructing the tendency to dehumanize that which is not always appealingly different from us?
Or is it all just a purity test set forth by the story to see how well you can shut your eyes and cover your ears to any and all challenges to the initial judgement you and the game’s general setting made upon the group in question, where you win the morality test by being as ignorant and unwielding to change as possible?
I feel like way too many redditor paladin types of players of this game assumed that playing bg3 would be the latter. That actually, any and all hints and information the game gives that paints a more humanizing picture of mind flayers is actually all manipulation and propaganda from the evil fictional characters that they’re meant to resist in order to prove themselves as “smart” and “not gullible”, only to ironically shut themselves off from a lot of the deeper themes of the story.
More games need to let you fuck up your romance entirely. Like truly one of the funniest things that has ever happened to me in a game is Alistair dumping me because i made him king and then like an hour later i was knocking on his door like "hey by the way i need you to fuck Morrigan."
Sometimes my mother likes to come over, sit and crochet while I play games. She's witnessed key portions of my Astarion romance.
On my new Durge playthrough, Gale is somehow my number one fan and now she wants to know why I "look like a creepy hobo" and also thinks I'm cheating on "Vampire Legolas with Wizard Jesus".
Update for my Random Choices Run #2: My tav (Mardon) has made it through Act 1! That's further than my last tav got. And he even managed to bring along two companions (Wyll and Shadowheart).
He's made a few surprisingly smart decisions (he even chose the one correct option out of five to avoid fighting Bernard and then chose the option to access the secret room, that was impressive). He's made a lot of pragmatic decisions to just walk away from things. He's made a few decisions to help others. He's also made some bad decisions. So here's a rundown:
Gale and Astarion were left alive but not recruited.
Lae'zel is dead because she tried to kill Mardon and he let her, and then the remaining party killed her.
Karlach is dead because Mardon encouraged Wyll to kill her.
Halsin is dead because Mardon saw goblins throwing rocks at a bear and thought, "Not my problem," but then the bear busted out and started attacking and it became his problem.
Minthara is dead.
Scratch has joined camp, but the owlbear cub is dead.
The tieflings were saved. But Zevlor and Tilses are dead because Mardon threatened them, Arabella is dead because Mardon didn't speak up to save her, and Rolan was not convinced to stay.
Volo was left in a cage.
Oskar was left with the Zhent.
Mayrina and Ethel were left to their deal, not Mardon's problem.
Shovel was recruited as the fourth party member.
Mardon was smart enough to not get in the githyanki death machine or to sass Vlaakith.
The dream guardian was stabbed and is therefore not very happy with Mardon.
The myconid colony was slaughtered because apparently necromancy is fine (Mardon is a necromancer), but using fungus to do it is, in his words, "repulsive."
No one was sacrificed to BOOOAL.
Nere was left to die in the cave-in.
Thulla and Skickpit were saved, but the rest of the gnomes were left dead or enslaved to duergar, including Barcus.
Mardon has shown zero interest in eating tadpoles.
He did show interest in romancing Shadowheart but was rejected, so he will be bosom-companion-less.
If this were HM or single save, they would be dead multiple times by now. In fact, I think it would've been Zevlor who killed them. We've yet to see if that would've been a blessing or a curse for Faerun. Anyway, onto Act 2 to see what Mardon decides next!
