A very nervous Aggie found her only two sundresses and spent at least an hour switching back and forth between the two, even going so far as to call Serina and Emmy for opinions.
(The moth laughed at Aggie’s nerves and agreed that the blue one was cuter and told her to wear it with the strappy sandals that Aggie had honestly forgotten she owned. Emmy agreed on the dress but voted for heels. Aggie could only find one out of the pair. Sandals it was. The conference call ended with a promise of meeting up for dessert sometime soon.)
Aggie applied minimal makeup and spent another forty-five minutes fussing with her hair.
She had just decided on a bracelet when her phone rang with the obnoxious samba music she couldn’t figure out how to change. She answered almost immediately, bouncing on the balls of her feet.
“Dot? I– I mean, ah, hello?” The imp cringed at her own over-eagerness and hoped the other monster would find it endearing rather than creepy.
Dot’s voice giggled on the other end. “Yeah it’s me!” She rolled on her bed and stared up at the ceiling. “Did I interrupt something? I didn’t catch you at a bad time, did I?” she asked, suddenly nervous. “I can call back if you want!”
