naoya could not have been beaten into submission because he was just a little shit who genuinely thinks he is so much better than everyone else. i believe even if he had a mother and/or women figures to look up to, he would still be a villain because he thinks he is entitled and deserving of the luxurious praise that comes with strength and power.

he thinks he is worthy. he has so much self-love that he truly thinks he is above all human, just like toji and gojo. that level of delusion was partly because he is a gifted sorcerer, and to add cream to his cake, the little fuck is rich. even if he was born in a less patriachal and misogynistic environment, maki would still have to beat him up to humble his dumb ass.
