As a longtime Tumblr resident, I can’t help but notice that you haven’t taken advantage of Tumblr’s functionality to promote yourself properly.
Users on this platform are generally wary of accounts that do not have a title, avatar, header image, or anything in the header or a pinned post to indicate who they are or what they’re about. To put it simply, when we open your page, we can’t tell who you are, what kind of person you are, or what kind of content (or its message) we can expect to find if we explore your blog.
I can tell you from personal experience that the average users on this platform have 1.) an extremely short attention span and 2.) a need to understand the basics of how you align with humanistic values of freedom, expression, and general interests like favorite music and tv shows. They need something to engage them the moment they click on your profile before they spend any time interacting with your posts; they need a captivating photo, a statement that declares your presence and beliefs, and anything that indicates that you are taking an active gauge of this very odd community.
Take the time to understand and update your profile’s settings. This will save you a lot of trouble, because “Sans Titre” and “Untitled” accounts generally look like fake or “bot” accounts to most Tumblr users. We’ve had several periods where fake accounts have tortured us relentlessly so there’s very little margin for error here.
Also, be sure to use Tags on all of your posts so that they show up properly on appropriate feeds for users who might be interested in what you’re doing. These can be vague like “music” or “original track”, more specific genres like “rap” or “rastafarian” and especially thematically specific things like moods, topics, keywords, and the like.
I’m telling you all these things because I can see you’re a serious musician and I know that Tumblr is a weird platform to engage with because its faithful and powerful users are quite jaded from years of experience and major shifts in digital marketing.
