We are The DG Sentinel, a new online media site by Dweebs Global, scheduled to launch this summer. Dweebs Global is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on free career advice and mental health support, operating in over 35 countries.
The goal of the DG Sentinel is to spotlight the important stories worldwide that are often overlooked by mainstream media. We already have great support with an all-star board that includes best-selling author Kayla Ancrum, and Scott Lamb, the Vice President of Content at Medium (formerly an editorial director with BuzzFeed International).

For instance, the still-existing and popular cosmetic trend from Myanmar is Thanaka, which is the countryâs traditional natural beauty resource. It is still widely used by Burmese girls as a skincare product to keep the skin cool and prevent UV light. As for fashion, traditionally and currently, Burmese Longyi is still fashionable in Myanmar.

DG Sentinel wants anything that involves âloveâ and ârelationships,â the most amazing things that define humans. There are parents' love for children and vice versa, family and siblings love, romantic love, toxic love, messy love, love for dogs, cats, etc., you name it. DG Sentinel also wants to tell stories about doctors and patients who have to spend a long time in a hospital. For example, those who undergo chemo for cancer or the kids in the children's ward and their relationships with doctors.
If either youâre a love expert or you just somehow have experiences about loving, or you know the concept of how to establish a good relationship between colleagues, doctors and patients, bosses and employees, etc., the world is in need of your personal stories and your suggestions, and DG Sentinel is here to help people in need of Love and Relationships advice through your stories and articles.
Wherever you travel, youâre bound to come across numerous different cultures as you go. There are even subcultures within a generalized culture, where you might find one community who follows different rules or traditions. People travel all around the world for various reasons, from vacations and road trips to escaping the norm and starting a new life from scratch!
If you find something you want to share about a community or your countryâs culture, such as some unique features (historical stories, paintings, handicrafts, plays, etc.) and what sets them apart from other cultures or others nearby, this is the section to reach out to! If you enjoy exploring the world and trying new things, have amazing experiences among the locals, or like to go out and about in the wilderness, writing stories about your travels will encourage countless others to step out of their comfort zone.
In addition to the above-mentioned features, DG Sentinel is also looking for those stories of immigrants who encounter cultural differences and how they are coping with that. There are many reasons for immigration, such as a countryâs political and economical situation, and such hidden stories with a background theme of culture are welcomed too.
Your writing sample must be either in Google Doc or Microsoft Word. That will allow editors to check and make your writing piece better. Word count must be between 500 and 1500, depending on the topic youâre saying and the information youâve managed to provide.
If you have photos to go along with your submission, please send those as well.
A brief bio of 500 words or less must be submitted along with your sample.
Social media links or other external links, where readers can learn more about you and your work, should be included (optional).
There is no submission fee and we accept multiple submissions from the same author. We review submissions as quickly as we can. We will give you feedback or respond to any of your inquiries in five to ten business days. Please note that we canât guarantee we will publish every submission we receive since we have to ensure that it meets our editorial standards.
We are an all-volunteer organization, including our editorial staff. This is a volunteer opportunity, which means that we cannot give you any compensation for your contribution. Although we are all-volunteer, our magazine can expand your audiences by publishing your piece.
