I'm looking to start making some single story zines, and I thought it might be nice to have some original sketches in it. I'm starting with one called "Daily Bread" and I thought some kind of take on the famous photo here might be good for the cover. It needs to have a bologna sandwich instead of the loaf; it coud have a glass of water or whatever on the table. The guy could look a little more...tired. I'm imagining it in color, but I'm ready to be surprised. It could be more abstract. The inside of the zine could use some art, too. I think so many styles could work, from comic book to something more realistic. It could be that someone has a much better idea for cover art. I'm so, so open to ideas haha. Anyway, long story (not very) short, if you want to know more, DM me your e-mail and I will send a copy of the story and you can see if it inspires you. It's not an edgy story. If you're into edgy, you won't be into this, haha. I'm not even sure if I'm into it, but I've had favorable responses, so here goes. :) I'm happy to share social media information when I credit contributors in the zine and of course send comp copies, digital or hard copy or both. Any other terms we can discuss over e-mail. :) By the way...I didn't even realize until today that this is a photo, "Grace" by Eric Enstrom. In my mind it was an old, old painting, like a Rembrandt, and the dude was sitting on the other side, and in short...I'm wondering if I was actually thinking of something else entirely haha. Any one know of a painting like that?
