I was in the grocery store a little while ago and this song was playing and it instantly took me back to the summer of 1985. I’m pretty sure I haven’t heard it in probably 20 years or more, and I hit YouTube as soon as I got home because I had to hear it again. The entire Scarecrow album is just killer, but this song was always the one that touched something inside me. Back then, I was the kid listening to the old man tell his stories, now I’m closer to the old man and understanding the wisdom he’s trying to impart to the young man. One of Mellencamp’s absolute best songs and it still holds up even today.

No Backbone: WTH Just Happened?

Heather Cox Richardson expresses her disappointment that not a single GOP Senator had a backbone to stand up to this traitorous misadministration and block criminal enabler Todd Blanche from becoming the U.S. Attorney General. Blanche should be charged with obstruction and malicious prosecutions for his crimes thus far and they are only going to escalate now that he's been given full authority by the wretched Republicans.
