Now, I'm not one to judge. Far from it. It's none of my business what folks like to do in their off time. But still... well, there are some things that are just too hard to ignore.
I still remember the first time I was introduced to the boss's wife. I'd been with the family-owned company barely a week, as your typical young guy fresh out of college and eager to please. It was her voice I hear first – high and tittery and excited as a kid with a new puppy. Honestly, at first I did think it was a kid that someone had brought into the office. But no. Turns out it was just Mrs. Warbingdon, all smiles and innocence, trotting amiably through to her husband's office in an outfit that looked like she'd bought it in the toddler's section.
"She's a bit odd, I'll admit," Harry had told me privately later that afternoon, as we were headed out to the sunlit parking lot. "Some folks think she's actually, you know, special. But," and here he'd leaned closer conspiratorially, "I've seen some of the memos she's prepared for the boss. And let me tell you: she's absolutely 100% there. And smarter than most of us too, I'd bet."
Was it a farce? Some weird ploy to act all innocent and charming so employees wouldn't take her seriously, so we employees would open up and talk shit about the boss in her presence? A few thought as much – but somehow, that idea didn't really make sense to me. She seemed to act that way all the time, after all, not just when employees were around. Heck, I even ran into her once in the supermarket, and her childish clothes and innocent giggles were just the same as ever...
Odd though it might be, I guess I'm actually getting used to it. Look, here she comes now: pigtails, white sundress, and pink sneakers. Oh, and one more thing...
Yeah. See that? It's not that hard to spot under such a short skirt. I know, right? She's actually in a diaper, of all things. And honestly, it kinda looks like she's used it, too!
Like I said, I don't like to judge. Maybe it's just her way of expressing herself or something. But somehow I can't help wondering exactly what goes on in the boss's office after she disappears inside. Do you think he treats her like a child, too? Or more like a wife?
Never mind. I'll get back to work now. I'll try my best to ignore these weird visions in my brain: visions of that babbling little baby-wife bending over with a giggle and obediently showing the boss just what a wet little pottypants she really is...
