Theo doesn't know why he's here. He doesn't know what compelled him to sit in the rain in front of Scott's apartment at three in the morning. But Scott does what he always does: Let's Theo in.

I genuinely wonder if people realize how many projects get abandoned because the readership "wasn't there", when in reality, the readership just stayed silent. It's a big thing in trad pub that book series get discontinued because readers pirate the books or wait until the series is finished to buy a copy, leading the publisher to think that nobody actually wants the book enough to continue the series, but it happens with indie creators too.
I've discontinued a lot of free, online series because it's not worth putting 3-5 hours a week into posting a project for no readers. Sometimes I finish the series for me but just never post it again, other times I don't finish it at all because it feels more worthwhile to put my time into other things. Sometimes I hear from readers who are sad or upset that I didn't finish something they were liking, but the *reason* it never got finished is because I didn't know anyone liked it. If you like something, tell the creator, tell your friends, make some noise about it. If you would be sad if a story never finished, make that interest known because one of my biggest considerations before discontinuing a series is "will people miss this? Will I be letting people down" and 9/10 times, I come to the conclusion of "no, it doesn't even seem like anyone's reading this" only to learn after I've moved on that apparently someone was.
I've said this before in a different way, and this post said it so well. With real examples.
If you like something, tell people.
If you want more content from an artist or author, if you like their stuff, tell them. It will give them creative fuel to keep going. And often it gives them other resources as well.
Recommend a work to other people. Leave a comment or a review. It doesn't have to be long, just genuine, a sentence or two.
Not many people know that a book's success is judged by book reviews as well as sales. Review the book on Amazon or another site to help it pass the metric of success and be recognized by publishers and retailers.
And for the love of heaven, use the like button on all sites which have it for its intended purpose, which is to indicate (mainly to the maker of the thing) that you liked the thing they made
Do Not use the like feature to bookmark things or make lists to look back on. There are other means of doing that. Like things that you like for the love of decency. Give people that little thumbs up. Acknowledge that they filled your time with something worthy.

i get so emotional every time i think about fanfic culture. it's just so beautiful that people are writing and anonymously posting these thousand-word stories about characters we all love and not even getting any money or public fame from it. it's literally just for the love of the game.

The Thiam and Sceo dynamics are so interesting to me because theyāre two sides of the same coin.
On the one side, you have a young beta who has to grapple with the fact that an outsider managed to manipulate him enough into almost killing his own alpha. On the other side, you have an alpha who, for the majority of his lived experience as a werewolf, has been unfathomable pain and repeated loss. You have a boy who in the face of adversity has only ever tried to be good and give grace, and the one person who heās let in since Malia, a person who truly began to feel like a friendā¦like pack, murders him and severely injures his friends.
And both of them say good riddance when Theo is pulled into the ground at the behest of Kiraās sword. They think itās over and try to move on. But of course, because this is Beacon Hills and theyāre werewolves, nothing is ever that simple. āRegression to the meanā or whatever Deaton says.
So when his best friend goes missing, and he finally remembers, Scott does everything in his power to make it right and get him back. And Liam, he does too. He tries, and fails, because exposing half the school to the Ghost Rider was never apart of the plan, and so he has to make it right. He has to do something to prove that heās capable of more. To prove that heās capable of carrying the mantle and filling Scottās shoes.
And so he does the only thing that he thinks will work and goes back to revive the devil that almost took everything from him. And heās scared, terrified even, but he has the sword. He can send Theo back at any time.
And Scott, after almost dying again at the hands of a banshee and her ghostly son, comes home to find his murderer standing in his kitchen. And heās confused and angry and Theo is being a snarky ass while Liam is trying to convince him that bringing back his murderer is worth it because he remembers Stiles, his best friend.
But then, things donāt go the way one would expect. Contrary to what everyone is sure will happen, Theo doesnāt go around lying and manipulating and killing people. In fact, he actually ends up being a lot of help and itās weird because Scott should hate him, should want nothing more than to see him go back into the ground.
But instead he starts sending him in to help where he can, trusting him to go to the abandoned zoo and the hospital with the same beta who also tried to kill him at the hands of Theoās manipulation; trusts him to go with Mason, a human who has no claws or fangs and canāt defend himself if something goes wrong, to hunt for fear wearing a teenagerās face.
Because truthfully, all his cards are on the table and he doesnāt have a choice. People are going missing and dying and Theo is the lesser of two evils.
And all the while, everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop.

okay so. i'm the number one scott lover and supporter. but the scott and malia arc is really pissing me off.
as soon as this started my very first thought was 'what about kira???' and 'what about stiles???' and i've just started the episode where stiles and derek come back. so i bet this will be wonderful.
this is probably where scott haters get their 'he's girl obsessed' argument from, now that i think about. but this feels so incredibly forced. like, if I'm remembering correctly, didn't scott dislike malia at first?
this whole operation just seems very sketchy to me, like the writers just got bored and decided to throw this in for fun.
i also just finished season 6 and dude yes. the whole thing just felt so random and so forced. i felt that way when i watched it for the first time on air back in the day too, so i know iām not crazy.
we get no closure for kira and thereās definitely no indication that they broke up AT ALL. i also personally think that scott and malia had zero chemistry. he and lydia had the most chemistry to me out of the core four, (stiles, scott, malia and lydia) through out seasons five and six. i was wholly unimpressed and to be frank, i simply pretend like it didnāt happen lol.
just finished my rewatch of teen wolf, and because its been nearly seven years since i last watched it, i decided to take notes. crazily enough, i have about 20+ pages for season 5 but by the time i got to season 6 i was so pissed off with the writing that i only have about two pages worth.
anyway, all that to say that i have become reinspired and will now be writing several fix-it fics for all the bullshit jeff davis put us through.

Day Two - I Cried Too: What does taking pain mean to Scott? What did his first time look like? How did it feel after the nogitsune ripped his pain out of him? What happens when Scott takes too much pain? How does he handle taking the pain of someone who hurt him? What about someone taking his pain? Make today's fics hurt!
Day Three - What's So Special About Scott McCall: s4 gives us so many juicy themes in Scott's life to delve deeper intoāhis relationship with his parents, individually or collectively, his fears of becoming a monster, difficulties with money, navigating school, a social life, and The Horrors simultaneously, a second death, a uniquely cruel trap set by Peter, and what it means for him to be an alpha. Hello!!! I'm so excited to host the first ever Puppy Pack Week. First off, all the prompts are suggestions so they can be mixed, matched, and ignored if you have other ideas that might not fit the theme. Also, I know Puppy Pack is a vague term (usually refers to Liam, Mason, Hayden, Corey, Alec,...) but I'm not the puppy pack police. Add Theo, add Nolan, add an OC, add whoever you want! Add dead characters (Tracy, Brett, Josh, Lori, Violet,...), I'm all for it! Hey, if you decide that Malia had to redo a grade and is now chilling w the puppy pack and is a part of them, heck yeah, love that too! So it's important to you? That you have access to the authors and writers and the stories you love and can read? That you can get lost in and find all the tags and ships u love?
Great! Have you commented on them? The fics you like? Not just kudos'ed; Have you Commented? Have you gone on their social media or whatever and left comments on how much you love their stuff?
Smooches ur forehead: Be loud about ur love for authors and writers. Get in there. Leave a comment. If u don't know what to write, just do a lil "Second kudos!" And if u read it again? "Third kudos!"

Thereās this weird thing within the Teen Wolf fandom where, in order to talk about oneās love of their own favorite character, they have to put Scott down while doing it.
There is no consideration or grace given to Scott despite the fact that heās a sixteen year old boy, when
the show begins, no consideration for the fact that his life was altered without his consent or control, nor an understanding that his initial distrust and borderline resentment towards werewolves, in the beginning is very much warranted.
Itās common to see fans bending themselves into all sort of crazy shapes, to justify why Stilesā response (or lack thereof) to his best friend getting murdered was okay because: āhe was going through the trauma of having killed someone!ā and āhis dad was dying!ā
So much justification to absolve Stiles of all responsibility, while simultaneously not giving
any grace to, not only Scott, but to the other characters in the show who have also gone through some, and at times, the same level of trauma as Stiles. (Take Lydia for example)
And donāt even get me started on the narrative surrounding Chris, Peter and Derek. Grown ass men who have a. lot. of blood on their hands, that are given chance after chance, after chance, to prove that they can be better and can change. (despite some of them never doing so. Like Peter, for example)
And yet somehow, that same grace isn't extended to Scott in away way despite him being the one
to give them second chances. He's blamed for his own murder, and nobody checks in on him after the fact. (I firmly believe that Lydia would have if she could have)
He's told to be strong, to be the 'true alpha' and is never once told that it's okay to hurt and be broken. He's
told to make his pack whole again, despite Theo being the catalyst as to why it fell apart in the first place, and
it just so happened that Scott's willingness to trust and believe in everyone, or to, at the very least, give them the benefit of the doubt, is what got him killed in the end.
The point is, Scott McCall is by no means perfect, but heās a child. A child with the weight of a man on his shoulders and he deserves a whole lot more grace and care than the majority of this fandom has ever given to him.
And frankly, heās someone that no one else in the show can be.
I debated on posting this for a while because I usually donāt find it necessary or important enough for me to do so, but Iāve seen a lot of anti-Scott discourse over the last few months, more than usual, and I donāt know if Tumblr for some odd reason thinks that I want to see it (despite the steps Iāve taken, NOT to see it) or if the universe is trying to tell me something.
I NEED A THEO RAEKEN WHOS IN PAIN!!! Give me a Theo who's body aches from the amount of surgery he's gone through. Give me a Theo Raeken embarrassed by the fact that despite being a Chimera, despite being so fucking powerful, he hurts so much
He pushes it down and he smiles and he pretends it's not there āand more often than not it really only is a dull ache, a pressure in the back of his mind that's relatively easy to ignore in the grand scheme of thingsā, but late at night the scars pull at his skin and he'll wake up panting because it's almost like someone's dragging a scalpel over his chest again, tearing him open and rummaging around in his ribcage
He gets flares, and when he does he hides away. The pack won't see him for days on end and then he'll reappear with a sly grin and about a thousand and one excuses as to where he'd been. The pack thinks there's something sinister going on, but the truth is Theo spent the time locked in his car or in the corner of some abandoned building writhing in pain, sweating and clenching his teeth so hard his jaw starts hurting too
And the worst thing is that he doesn't even know if the pain is real. He may be a scientific abomination, but he still has werewolf healing. It's not so crazy to assume everything might be in his head. He tries not to think about that too much. The pain is manageable, but the thought of losing his mind simply is not.
He could've been strong. He should be strong. The most powerful creature in fucking existence.
One of the reasons I believe that lydia would believe that theo is capable of change is becuase she gets flashbacks to aiden and how he was trying to better but lydia didn't acknowledge his efforts until it was too late. His final words were "It's okay. Lydia never believed I was one of the good guys, anyway." I just know that those words haunt her in her sleep, she could never alllow anyone else to experience what she felt.
AO3 should have an Annotation Mode where you can click to view all of the author's commentary and thoughts about certain parts of the work. A little comment that says "I spent five hours researching vintage radio mechanics for this and didn't even end up using it" or "this is an ancient Hebrew literary technique!" would make my day
